"W-what?" Soobin asked, looking at Yeonjun who only stared back, eyes widened.

"It's-It's," Yeonjun started.

"I'm really sorry!" Soobin bowed down, his head hung low.

"It's" Yeonjun stopped to take a deep breath. "It's really alright."

"It is?" Soobin raised his head, confused.

"I mean, I know you didn't mean to, it was just a silly kiss haha" Yeonjun said, instantly regretting his words as he saw the sadness appear in Soobin's eyes, though smiling they both were.

"Yeah, thanks." Soobin said, he was smiling but he felt a kind of dissatisfaction in his heart that he couldn't name. Maybe it was the disappointment after a rejection, if you could even call it that.

Soobin quietly went back to eating, acting as though the kiss hadn't even happened. Yeonjun, though troubled because of his own words, also shifted his focus on the food even though all he wanted was to share an actual kiss with Soobin and take back the words he'd just said.

Soon the meal was over and the boys maintained their silence, though awkward it was, as the tension in the room, hit the roof. As Soobin quietly packed the utensils and empty food containers back into the picnic basket, he saw a plastic bag at the bottom. Feeling curious he asked Yeonjun what it was.

"Oh, just some ice cream I picked up on the way. Pass it here, let me go throw it away," Yeonjun said, finishing his last bite of food.

"Oh no, like I said we're not wasting ANY of the food."

"You do realize it's all melted now," Yeonjun mused.

Soobi felt embarrassed, "oh, yeah, of course haha"

Yeonjun chuckled. Soobin smiled at him. The pressure in the room had cleared up.

"Let's go get ice cream then," Yeonjun suggested as soon as they finished cleaning up.

"Yeah!"

The two boys walked to the convenience store and picked out their ice creams, "Let me pay," Soobin said, snatching away Yeonjun's ice bar and placing it on the counter.

"Oh c'mon, I feel bad," Yeonjun tried taking it back.

Soobin placed his hand on it, "You got the food so it's fair if I pay for this,"

"I guess then," Yeonjun gave in reluctantly.

As the boys got out of the store with a Popsicle each, Yeonjun exclaimed, "Let's go to the park now." Soobin looked at the sky, it was already evening but the skies were clear with only a few white clouds floating around, he nodded.

As soon as they reached the park, Yeonjun quickly ran to the swings, shouting, "Race you there!" Soobin, though indifferent, lightly jogged up to Yeonjun and sat on the vacant swing seat besides Yeonjun's.

Both the boys quietly ate their ice creams, lightly moving the swings with their feet and enjoying the other's company. "The flowers are really pretty though," Yeonjun commented, looking at the big blossom tree across the park. "Yeah," Soobin breathed out, enjoying the beautiful scenery of the pink flowers, the red sunset and the blue-haired boy beside him.

Yeonjun finished his ice cream but continued looking at the view before him, his hands clutching the the swing ropes, "I'm glad today was such a happy day too," he softly whispered as though talking loud would've ruined the splendor of the evening. "Too?" Soobin asked, turning to face Yeonjun. "Too. It's fun every day when I'm with you," Yeonjun turned to Soobin and beamed. A hint of pink adorned Soobin's face, touched by Yeonjun's words, he was left dumbstruck.

"I'm really happy that I've been granted an opportunity to do all this, to have met you, to have become your friend. This must be what it really means to be alive." Yeonjun looked up at the sky, tears pooling in his eyes. Tears dripped down Soobin's face too, as he realized, for the first time in his life perhaps, that he was treasured, appreciated and held value to somebody.
