That night, Soobin was lying on his bed, staring at his phone screen. He had Yeonjun and his conversation opened up and was waiting for Yeonjun to start a conversation. "I wonder if I should text first... but what will I even say? But I do really want to talk to him, especially after we didn't really get to during the day... I wonder if he's busy though, since school started and all. I don't know what kind of guy he is when it comes to this kind of stuff, I mean, he might actually be really studious and might be researching on the topics in the curriculum... argh maybe I should send a 'hi' or something. Oh wait maybe I can ask him how the first day of school was for him. But I feel like that's a weird question to ask since I was with him the whole day anyway... but like, I want to ask him his opinion on it, how he felt and all. Oh what a dumb conversation-starter that is though..."

Amidst Soobin's dilemma, suddenly a speech bubble with three dots on it appeared, signaling that Yeonjun was typing something. Soobin instantly perked up.

C. Yeonjun: Hiiiii

C. Yeonjun: Whew, school was boring, huh?

C. Yeonjun: But hey, at least we're in the same classes and all ! :D

C. Yeonjun: So, how'd you like school?~

Soobin was happy to see that Yeonjun was lively as ever and was touched to see him send multiple texts at once.

C. Soobin: School was actually fun, really.

C. Soobin: I mean, the schoolwork is difficult but
hey yeah, at least we're together!

C. Yeonjun: Now, now

C. Yeonjun: We're not married, bub

C. Soobin: You're so annoying.

C. Yeonjun: Thank you, sir ! :D

Soobin smiled to himself.

C. Soobin: You're very welcome. :]

Yeonjun didn't say anything after that. He did read the message, the "message seen" was clearly shown below Soobin's text, but unlike what usually happened, Yeonjun didn't continue the conversation by introducing another subject.

Soobin patiently waited, "maybe he went to the washroom or something," Soobin thought to himself, putting his phone down and closing his eyes, reminiscing the day he had had at school, with new friends, with Yeonjun.

Just as Soobin was about to drift off to sleep, his phone dinged, alerting him of a text message. Soobin lazily opened his phone, wondering who it was. It was Yeonjun.

C. Yeonjun: Hey

C. Yeonjun: I'm sorry about suddenly disappearing, yeah?

C. Yeonjun: Beomgyu and Kai were spamming me with like, a mountain texts Lol

For a second, Soobin didn't know what to say. He felt as odd jealousy in his heart but decided that it was a feeling not to be given into.

C. Soobin: Yes, you're popular.

C. Soobin: I get it, "bub."

C. Yeonjun: >:(

C. Soobin: ...?

Suddenly, Soobin's ringtone rang out in his quiet room, Yeonjun was calling him. Startled, Soobin declined the call without thinking. Yeonjun called again.

C. Soobin: Hey.
C. Soobin: What?

C. Yeonjun: Pick up the phone:(

C. Soobin: Why?

C. Yeonjun: Please?

Yeonjun called one more time. Sighing, Soobin picked it up.

"Hey, you're mad at me right?" Yeonjun's honey voice reached Soobin and a slight blush tinged his face.

"W-What?"

"Are you mad at me?" Yeoonjun suddenly sounded more serious, almost as though he was near to tears.

Soobin suddenly felt guilty, Yeonjun sounded genuinely worried and he didn't like that it was because of him.

"Hey, no, I'm not," Soobin hurriedly said.

"I'm really not," he softly added.

Soobin heard Yeonjun sigh in relief.

"Thank God," Yeonjun whispered.

"Hmm?~"

"You know, I'd personally be really mad at someone if they just left mid- conversation just to talk to some other people."

"Clingy, huh?"

"Really not. I'd just feel unimportant and stuff, you know? Kinda."

Soobin felt a twinge of pain in his heart... did this mean he was unimportant to Yeonjun...?

"Hey hey. Not to say you're unimportant or anything. It's just that they were becoming really annoying and all because I was ignoring them. And anyway, I like to be able to give all my attention to you when we're talking so"

Soobin couldn't help but believe Yeonjun, he sounded so genuine, his voice laced with sincerity and care. Soobin smiled to himself.

"So, you called me to check if I'm mad at you or not?"

"I mean yeah but like, you know, also to apologize. Like, text message apologies? Whack! I mean, I really ought to apologize to you tomorrow when we meet at school and all, but that'd mean I wouldn't be able to talk to you for the rest of the night so"

"That'd be sad?"

"Oh, it'd be an absolute tragedy, my heart could never take the damage!" Yeonjun dramatically declared, though it was easy to tell that the statement also had some truth to it.

Soobin smiled to himself, "Ah~ is that so, huh?"

"Yes, it is very much so."

Suddenly both boys yawned. Hearing that the other did too, they both chuckled.

"That's some soulmate energy, huh? Anyway, go to bed now, bub. Goodnight, Soobinnie~"

"Goodnight to you too, Yeonjun" Soobin was about to call him 'Yeonjunnie' but couldn't gather the courage to.

"See you at school then, yeah?"

"Yeah."

There was a short silence.

"Okay, hang up then, Soobin, my little bub."

"First of all, I'm taller than you, Yeonjun the dwarf."

"Not everything's about height! I'm your hyung anyway."

"Are you really though? Second of all, just because we share the same name doesn't mean we're married."

"You joke thief!!! You got me bawling my eyes out," Yeonjun made fake crying noises.

Soobin smiled, "Oh my God, why is Yeonjunnie so cute?" he thought to himself.
