Back at Beomgyu's, the three boys were working hard. Hanging string lights, preparing the food and making sure the cake was perfect, the guys had been hurriedly working after Yeonjun said that he wanted to meet Soobin again as soon as possible. Worrying if they had read everything wrong, Taehyun and Beomgyu had also quickly worked hoping that they weren't about to break their dear friend Kai's heart, unintentionally.

In the middle of things, Taehyun decided to at least check up on Kai.

K. Taehyun: Hey, having fun? You guys okay?

Kai replied almost instantly.

H. Kai: Yeah, I guess.

Taehyun felt uneasy about the reply.

K. Taehyun: Kai, did we

K. Taehyun: Did we go wrong in our plans?

H. Kai: Oh no

H. Kai: Don't feel bad, hyung

H. Kai: You guys had good intentions, I know

K. Taehyun: If you want, we can call Soobin up and quickly wrap up the whole mess

Though the date was growing more awkward by the second, Kai still wanted to savor the alone-time he was getting to have with Soobin.

H. Kai: Oh no, hyung

H. Kai: It's really not that bad.

K. Taehyun: Then why in the world are you texting me instead of talking to him???

H. Kai: ><

H. Kai: We're at the movie theatre, Soobin-hyung's getting the snacks

K. Taehyun: That's sweet

K. Taehyun: Should've told me before!

K. Taehyun: If he's volunteered to get the food then why should I even be worried? Lol

H. Kai: Soobin-hyung's coming back with the food

H. Kai: Bye!

K. Taehyun: Bye!!

As Soobin came back, he noticed that Kai had been texting someone. Catching Soobin's gaze at the phone, Kai quickly said, "Oh, just Taehyun-hyung, he wanted to check up on us"

"Check up on us?"

"Yeah."

"Weird."

"Why's it weird?"

"It's not like we're kids or anything," Soobin chuckled.

Kai couldn't help but adore the look of childish joy on Soobin's face and was momentarily mesmerized.

"Yeah, weird," Kai replied with a warm smile.

They entered the screening hall, Kai in front with the tickets and Soobin following with the snacks. They had gotten seats together at the far back where the view was the best. Their seats were in the middle of the row and as they sat down, a couple sat down on either side of them. As the advertisements played, the couples beside them fooled around with each other, removing the arm rest between each other and snuggling close. Looking at them, Soobin shot an awkward look to Kai, while Kai secretly burned with envy and wished to cuddle up with Soobin in similar fashion.

When the movie started, Soobin shifted all his attention to the screen while Kai couldn't help but sneak peeks at Soobin to see the varying reactions Soobin had to the movie. As they shared the snacks between each other, Kai couldn't help but carefully watch Soobin's actions because as cliché as it was, Kai wanted to do the "accidental hand contact" thing with Soobin while sharing the popcorn. For this lone purpose, Kai had asked Soobin to get a large bag of popcorn to share instead of getting their personal small ones.

As the movie went on and Kai finally managed to successfully pull the "accidental" skin contact stunt, Kai looked up at Soobin's face hopefully but Soobin didn't even move his gaze to Kai, not even showing a reaction as he grabbed the popcorn and shoveled it in his mouth. Though somewhere in his heart, Kai had already known how it'd go, he still felt horrible because of the lack of reaction from Soobin. Even if Kai had always seen the way Soobin looked at and acted around Yeonjun, he couldn't help but have that tiny hope in him.

For the rest of the movie, Kai couldn't concentrate on anything except how badly his heart was suffering because of the lack of interest Soobin had in him. How Soobin didn't even consider Kai a potential partner. How Soobin didn't think of him as anything but a friend, only just a friend.

H. Kai: Taehyun-hyung, please end
this whole "date" thing
