That day, the park again, slipped Soobin's mind as he thought about his school trip. It would be the first one he would be going on as he'd always skipped out at his old school because no one would want to room with him. He excitedly slept that night, wondering when the school would tell them about it.
It wasn't one more week before the school officially announced the overnight trip.
"Good morning class," it was their homeroom teacher, Mr. Kim, "as you know, October has come. And what does October mean?"
"The school trip!"
"Exactly! You guys must be so excited, all the hard work from the exams and tests must've left you guys so tired, right? I mean, of course it's an educational trip which consists of a lot of visits to museums and everything but still, what a fresh breather, right?"
"Yessir!"
"Guess where we're going then!"
Suddenly, the class became a whole lot noisier with people guessing random places here and there.
"Busan?"
"No it's Ilsan this year, that's where they took the last year's batch!"
"We're going international! Tokyo!"
"Okinawa!"
"Disney Land!" Beomgyu shouted along.
"Switzerland please!"
"No no, Germany!"
The teacher just laughed, "Okay class. Calm down, calm down."
When the class had finally settled at least a bit down the teacher took a deep breath, "I'm sorry to disappoint-"
The class sighed.
"But..."
"Oh c'mon get on with it, Mr. Kim!"
"We're going to..."
"To..?"
"Gyeongju!"
There was a mixed response as some celebrated and others whined because they wanted an international trip.
"Are you excited, Binnie?" Yeonjun asked Soobin beside him.
"Yes Hyung," Soobin smiled wide.
"It's going to be so much fun, the five of us together," Beomgyu joined in cheerfully, hugging the two from the back, "I hope we can room together."
"Five people in one room?"
"Don't worry, Jun-hyung, they'll give us a room big enough."
"Okay, but don't you guys want to hear the specifics like how long the trip will be and everything?" Mr. Kim asked his noisy students as they quieted down to listen.
"A whole week!"
There was a whine as it meant only a week away from school.
"Technically, a trip of 7 days with a bonus of two days off after we return."
The class cheered.
"Well, now on to the details. We'll be going in the last week of this month so be sure to bring your signed consent forms back by Monday next week! On to the rooming details, you guys can choose to room with two, three or five roommates in each room. However, if you want a big room, you've got to give your name to me quick because we don't have a lot of those. And yeah, the itinerary will be provided later today. Now, moving on with today's class-"
Soon their morning classes were over and came lunch. Everyone was bustling with excitement as they talked about the trip with their friends and made plans for it.
"So we're obviously all going to room together, right? The five us," Beomgyu looked at his friends excitedly.
"Yes!" Kai cheered.
"Fine by me," Soobin replied.
"Cool by me too," Yeonjun hummed.
"As long as I'm with you, Gyu," Taehyun responded, nuzzling the older and wrapping his arms around him.
"Woo hoo! It's going to be so much fun, we haven't done another sleepover since Kai's birthday and that was so much fun. Ah! I'm so excited!" Beomgyu exclaimed.
Lunch was soon over with Beomgyu and Kai babbling on with excitement while the three others fondly watched the two and quietly ate their meals happily.
Soon the boys had parted way to go back to class and Beomgyu, Yeonjun and Soobin walked to their class together. As they sat down, Yoonho from in front of Yeonjun suddenly turned around, "Hey Jun!"
Yeonjun sighed.
"Let's room together!"
"He's rooming with us," Beomgyu interjected.
"Us?" Yoonho question, unimpressed.
"With me, Tae, Kai and Soob-hyung. Right, Soobin-hyung?"
"Yeah, exactly," Soobin backed up, though a bit nervously.
Yoonho looked at Yeonjun.
"You heard them," Yeonjun shrugged.
"As if you guys will get a room for five, heard they've already all been filled," Yoonho scoffed.
"Not if we go right now," Beomgyu stood up, "c'mon hyungs, let's go."
Soobin and Yeonjun followed the hurrying Beomgyu as Yoonho sauntered out after them.
"Can Huening Kai, Kang Taehyun, Choi Soobin, Choi Yeonjun and I occupy one of the five-people rooms?" Beomgyu asked the attendant who seemed to be keeping track of the record.
"Check if there are any slots left," the attendant replied, turning her pages to show that the page had been all filled.
"See, told you. So Jun, room with me?" Yoonho popped up.
"Nope," Yeonjun replied, as he turned around and walked back towards the class.
Yoonho followed him, "How about you, me and my bro, Shion then?"
As Beomgyu and Soobin watched them walk away, Beomgyu started whining, clutching on Soobin's arm and swinging it dramatically, "Soobin-hyung! What'll we do now?"
"Hey babe? What happened?"
Beomgyu turned around to the person who'd just said that to him.
It was Taehyun.
"Taehyunnie they're out of rooms for us," Beomgyu whined, hugging him and fake-crying dramatically.
"Oh."
"Really? Just an oh? Do you know how devastated I am? Why are you smiling? What?"
"I filled in our names this morning right after the announcement, you dummy. I knew you'd want us to room together so," Taehyun laughed, ruffling Beomgyu's hair.
"Wait, don't we have to sign that thing?" Soobin asked.
"Exactly," Kai agreed, he too was standing next to Taehyun.
"I just forged y'all's signatures, chill."
"You did what?!"
