There was a piercing silence as Yeonjun just stood speechless, Soobin looked him right in the eye, looking for answers, desperate to be proved wrong.

"Why...Why would you even for a second, think that?"
Tears collected in Yeonjun's irises too.

"Why would I not think that, hyung?" Soobin was now shouting, he threw away Yeonjun's arms from his shoulder as he looked down at the ground, tears spilling from his eyes.

"I don't know what you mean..." Yeonjun swallowed the lump in his throat, scared and wondering if Soobin was about to confess his crush towards the older, scared that Soobin might've fallen in love with him.

Soobin connected his eyes with the older again, tears freely falling down his face,"Hyung...Do you really... Do you really not know what I mean?"

Yeonjun broke eye contact, he couldn't watch Soobin cry, he couldn't hear bear Soobin's voice break with the pain.

"Why won't you meet my eyes? Do I disgust you so much?"

Yeonjun looked back at the younger, meeting his wet eyes which screamed in desperation, screamed at Yeonjun to understand, screamed at Yeonjun to console the younger, to provide comfort.

Yeonjun blinked back his tears and said with a smile, "Of course, you're not a joke to me."

Though Yeonjun had thought he was going the right way with his words, as soon as Soobin heard them, his face dropped, eyes going spacey with a small ironic smile on his tear-stained face.

Soobin turned to leave, "I'm sorry for thinking that there was more to your smiles and words than just patronization, hyung."

Yeonjun grabbed Soobin's wrist, "Soobinnie, I-"

"I don't need your sympathy, hyung." Soobin tried shaking off Yeonjun's grip, Yeonjun held on firmly on to the younger's wrist.

Yeonjun stepped closer to the younger and back-hugged him, "You're literally the most important person to me, I don't understand what's happened all of a sudden." It was a lie, Yeonjun knew exactly what had happened, he had gotten way too far with his feelings, he had been about to cross the forbidden boundary, the boundary line he wasn't to cross but it had been too late by the time he had pulled out, he had already done the damage.

Soobin's heart started to race again while his head grew more and more confused, running around in circles, unaware of what to do. Soobin knew he liked the older beyond friendly or brotherly feelings, but right as the older back-hugged him, he had been hit with a bigger realization: he was a fool, he didn't just "like" Yeonjun, he loved him.

When Soobin didn't say anything and just slightly lean into the hug, Yeonjun softly asked, "Soobinnie?"

Soobin quickly wiped away his tears, deciding that there would come a better day to confess his romantic feelings to the older, a better day where the older too would've already developed such feelings of love towards him. Soobin took a deep breath and turned round, still in Yeonjun's arms, "Yeah, hyung?"

Yeonjun was taken aback by the soft feel in Soobin's eyes which had now replaced the previous feelings of despair, he put on his smile again and asked, "You alright?"

"Yeah, hyung. I'm sorry about the sudden outburst, yeah?" Soobin's voice was soft but sincere.

Yeonjun, though surprised breathed a sigh of relief, "It's alright, Binnie."

Soobin grabbed Yeonjun's hand as they continued walking, "Hyung, want to go get some ice cream?"

"Sure"

"And then you can walk me home!"

"Of course," Yeonjun thanked the Lords for safely getting him out of the situation, vowing to himself that he'd never have another slip-up ever, at least not at the expense of Soobin's feelings.
