Soon the three boys were in Soobin's room, drinking tea and having their slices of strawberry shortcake.
"Did your mum make this, Hyung?" Kai asked, deliciously eating his cake.
"Yeah, she likes to bake sometimes," Soobin replied.
"Well, have it then, Binnie. Like Kai said, it's really good," Yeonjun said to the Soobin who hadn't yet even touched his piece.
"Yeah, Hyung. Or else, I'll eat your bit too," Kai teased.
"Yeah, or else I will," Yeonjun chuckled.
"Wow, alright alright," Soobin chuckled, giving his cake a look before finally digging into it.
"Argh, we have school tomorrow," Kai complained.
"Ugh, I know right, we just got done with the tests but as the year ends it's only going to get worse from here," Yeonjun agreed with an exaggerated frown.
"There's nothing fun left, I hate it. Can't the year end already?"
"C'mon Kai, studying can be fun too," Soobin chuckled.
Yeonjun and Kai gave Soobin a look.
"What?"
"Nothing, Binnie," Yeonjun replied, his smile returning and his eyes looking at the younger with amused fondness.
"Nobody besides you likes to study, Hyung," Kai interjected.
"Huh? I- I don't particularly like to study!"
"Right. We don't believe it, do we, Jun-hyung?"
"Oh c'mon Kai, it's just that I don't mind studying. It's not like I like it," Soobin continued to defend himself.
"Sure, Hyung. Of course, you only study because you need to. It's not like you spend literally all, ALL of your free time studying," Kai continued.
"Hey! I get bored when you guys aren't around to annoy me!"
"We don't hangout after school sometimes because we have extra tuition so that we don't fail. You though Hyung, you just study all the time because it's fun to you or whatever!"
"Kai, why do you always target me," Soobin whined.
Yeonjun fondly watched the two bicker, they seemed to get along really well and Soobin seemed to be very comfortable with Kai too.
Kai caught Yeonjun just spacing out and decided to include him too, "Jun-hyung, I'm right, right? Soobin-hyung enjoys math and all too much to be normal, right?"
"Oh c'mon, Yeonjun-hyung, tell Kai we shouldn't judge others based on their likes and dislikes," Soobin whined, tugging on Yeonjun's arm.
"Oh c'mon you two, you guys are so funny," Yeonjun chuckled, ruffling both of their hair, "Just eat your food and have a more friendly argument."
"Anyway, my point still stands," Kai said as he stuck his tongue out playfully at Soobin.
Soobin reached for a pillow and threw it at Kai who dodged it, "Hah! Bin-hyung, work on your aim!"
"Like I'm here to take orders from you," Soobin reached for Kai and Kai dodged.
"At least finish eating before playing, guys," Yeonjun lovingly commented, watching the two as he sipped his tea.
"You should say something as a hyung if your dongsaeng is getting bullied, Yeonjun-hyung," Soobin pouted, sitting back down and taking a bite of his cake in a huff.
"You should also tell your dongsaeng if they're being really lame and nerdy, Jun-hyung," Kai added.
"Right, right. And I should also scold both my dongsaengs if they don't keep playing for after the meal and not during it," Yeonjun lazily commented.
"Playing? We're not kids, Hyung."
"Ah, right Binnie. You guys aren't kids, you guys are literal babies," Yeonjun reached out to ruffle Soobin's hair and Soobin just looked away, pretending he didn't like it.
"Oh oh! By the way, by the way," Kai suddenly interrupted excitedly.
"What, over-hyper kid?" Soobin asked playfully.
Kai rolled his eyes at the older, as the older lightly slapped his arm in response, "There's one more fun event left before school gets absolutely icky and boring."
"Ooh, what?" Soobin asked.
"The class trip!" Kai exclaimed happily, taking the last bite of his cake and doing a little dance.
"Class trip?"
"Yeah, Bin-hyung, we're going out for an overnight trip!"
"Really? Yay!"
Yeonjun and Kai celebrated, giving each other repeated high-fives and cheering.
"Are school trips fun?"
Yeonjun and Kai paused and looked at Soobin in surprise, "of course, you dummy!"
