Chapter 50

‘You know,’ I started talking.
‘There’s going to be a day where we just can’t find a good enough hotel to stay in’
Luke unlocked the door of our room and let us in.
It was a little more luxurious than the once we had before and I slowly started to wonder how an 18 year old could pay for all of this.
That wasn’t really normal, was it? At least I didn’t think it was.
‘Of course not,’ Luke said, walking over to bed and sitting down on the bed to untie his mud covered  shoes.
‘If there’s nothing left we’ll just go a little more luxurious’
‘Like this?’ I asked, sitting down beside him to untie my shoes as well.
‘Yeah, kind of like this, although there’s hotel rooms even worse than this one’
‘How do you even pay for all of this?’ I asked, grabbing my shoes and dropping them by the door to make sure the floor wasn’t going to get any more mud on it.
Luke looked up and stopped fumbling around with his shoelaces.
He was quiet for a few minutes before he started talking again.
‘It’s a long story’ he said, focusing back on his shoes.
‘Well, we’ve got all night’ I tried, but he didn’t answer.
He just kept his mouth shut and got rid of his shoes.
‘Does it have anything to do with your friends?’ I continued.
Luke sighed and put his shoes by the door as well, slowly walking up to me.
‘sort of,’ he said. ‘Remember that thing I didn’t want to tell you about that first day you came along with me? It has something to do with that’
‘But, you still don’t want to tell me’ I guessed, looking down at my hands that were fumbling with each other.
‘I do want to tell you, I just don’t want you to start seeing me differently or treating me differently’
‘Why would I do that?’ I asked, looking up at him.
‘A lot of people do and I don’t want you to be one of them’
‘I don’t think I’d judge you that easily. I don’t know anything so you’ll probably have to explain to me what it means anyway’
‘I think you know what this means, maybe not everything about it but you know the basic stuff and that’s enough’
I quietly looked at him as he walked away from me and sat down on the bed, his elbows resting on his knees and his head in his hands, like I was asking him one of the hardest questions he’d ever have to answer.
I didn’t really know what to say anymore.
Do I really look and sound like someone who judges that easily?
‘I understand that you want to know but can we please, just give it a little bit more time?’ Luke carefully asked, lifting his head back up and looking at me.
I looked down at my hands again but nodded.
‘Sure, I’m going to take a shower’ I said.
I walked over to the bag that was placed on the bed behind Luke and quickly grabbed some clean clothes before making my way to the bathroom.
Luke followed right behind me and stopped walking in front of the door, not saying a word.
I decided to just ignore it and looked around the bathroom for some towels.
When I had found them and dropped them with my clothes I finally looked up at Luke who was now leaning against the wall inside of the bathroom.
‘I’m going to take a shower alone’ I clarified.
Luke smiled and nodded.
‘I know, I’m just…I’m sorry okay? Trust me, I really am. I want to tell you about it but it’s just not that simple’
I nodded and when he opened his arms, I happily walked into them.
‘I’m sorry’ he mumbled again, kissing the top of my head and letting his arms fall down to my waist.
I lifted my head up so I could look at him.
From afar he was hot, even a blind person could see that, but from up close it was even better.
Luke smiled and leaned his head down just a little, unconsciously biting his lip ring.
‘I have to go take a shower’ I said, my voice just above a whisper.
Luke nodded but neither of us attempted to move.
From this close, his eyes were completely blue, not one little spot of brown or green anywhere.
‘Alright, go take your shower’ he suddenly said, completely ruining the little moment we had.
His hands fell off my body as he walked to the door and closed it right behind  him.

A/N: I don't know what that ending was...it kind of sucked but...oh well xd
