‘So say it’ Luke said, grinning widely.
We were still in the car on our way to Rotorua and Luke had been bothering me about saying “Shit” ever since we left the gas station.
Which was about half an hour ago.
‘No, I don’t want to say it’ I answered.
‘Well I can always just hide away the chocolate until you say it’
‘Don’t threaten the chocolate when I’m about to get my period. That’s a very bad idea’
‘You can’t be that bad, you’re not even on your period yet’
‘I always get really irritated and grumpy about a day before I get my actual period, so trust me, you don’t want to mess with me right now because then this will be a very tough week for you’
Luke just kept grinning while looking at the road.
‘I don’t think you can ruin a whole week just because you can’t eat chocolate’
I crossed my arms over my chest in defeat, but got an idea when I remembered what Luke said exactly.
Just say shit or fuck or whatever you can think of.
‘Fine I’ll say it, but not because I can’t make your life a living hell for a week but because I can’t risk losing the chocolate.’ I lied.
To be honest, the only reason I didn’t say it yet is because I liked how he tried so hard to make me say it, not necessarily because my parents told me not too.
I mean, they told me not to leave the house and yet here I am, sitting in a car with a guy I don’t really know a lot about and who accidentally kissed me, driving further away from my home then I ever thought I’d be.
‘Just play that game again and say shit when you lose’ Luke said when I didn’t say anything.
I nodded and grabbed my phone, starting up the game and playing it until I wanted to throw it out the window.
After about 10 rounds I sighed and looked up from my phone.
‘Just say it’ Luke said.
‘Fine I’ll say it’
I sat up straight and cleared my throat.
‘Sh…’ I started as I watched Luke sit up straight.
Way to excited over me cursing.
If only he knew.
‘Shrimp’ I said, smiling like a toddler who gets to have her favourite cookie.
‘No, shit’ Luke answered.

‘Shirt, we’ll see’
‘Shit, you running out of words yet? Because I can keep going for the rest of the day’
‘Shelves, nope I still have some’
‘Shit, I can’t wait to hear them’ he leaned back in his chair, his smile still plastered on his face.
‘Sheepdogs, I can’t wait to think of them’ I said, my mind racing with words that start with “sh”, honestly I didn’t know a lot of them anymore.
‘Shit’
‘Shake’ I was running out of words.
‘Shit’
‘Shuffle’ I could only think of 3 more words.
