CHAPTER 87 NURTURING US

Shehnaaz quickly woke up and took Tara in her arms as she was crying.. Tara had just woken up because she was thirsty but Shehnaaz didn’t understand at the moment.. She rubbed her back, tried to check her diaper, everything was fine but she didn’t stop crying…
Sidharth’s hand wandered on his side where Tara was sleeping and didn’t find her.. He panicked and got up from his bed and didn’t find Shehnaaz on the bed too.. He stormed out of the room and growled at Shehnaaz, “Tu pagal hai kya aise bahar aa gayi Tara ko leke, mai pareshan ho gaya tha neend me…” without noticing that Tara was crying.. Tara looked at Sidharth and cried more.. Shehnaaz didn’t say anything as Tara was the main concern at the moment…. Sidharth grabbed the bottle of water and got it in front of her mouth and Tara sipped the water like a thirsty camel.. Sidharth took her in his arms, cradled her soflty and Tara fell asleep again…
Shehnaaz walked back to the bedroom followed by Sidharth and she slept on her side.. Sidharth kept Tara on her little bed but she started crying again.. He took her back in his arms, cradled her again and she fell asleep in his arms yet again…
Sidharth sat on his side of the bed with Tara in his arms.. “Let ja, aur usko apne seene pe sula.. Tu bhi let jaega aur so paega aur Tara bhi..” suggested Shehnaaz and Sidharth agreed..
He realized that he shouted at her a bit too much without her fault… He didn’t say anything and lay on the bed, he adjusted Tara on his chest and Shehnaaz covered her with her blanket.. Sidharth wrapped one arm around Shehnaaz but she turned around and slept.. She knew he would take care of Tara…
Sidharth knew he had to make up for his behavior.. He kept patting Tara’s back softly and the trio fell asleep…
Rita maa was missing Sidharth and Shehnaaz and they were at home for the weekend so she came home in the morning with breakfast made specially by herself..
When she came in, the maids told her about a baby… “Kaun bacha?”
“Ji, wo Sidharth bhaiya ne nai bataye… Lekin bhot khush lag rahe the aur har ek choti-choti cheez ka dhyan rakh rahe the bache ka…” informed the maid and Rita Maa couldn’t control herself and walked to SidNaaz’s room…
She saw Sidharth sleeping with Tara on his chest, his hand securely on Tara’s back and Shehnaaz’s hand on Sidharth’s..
Rita Maa had seen Sidharth with Naira, in the past but Sidharth never had time to take care of naira in a way he was taking care of Tara… Sidharth had shoots and a busy work schedule and so, seeing Sidharth sleeping with Tara was an adorable sight to watch…
“Mere bacho ko ek nanhi pari ho jaye ab..” wished Rita Maa as she wiped her happy tears… Tara cried again as it was her time to wake up and Sidharth also woke up and sat on the bed, rubbed Tara’s back, “Good Morning Tara baby.. Bas- bas, aise nai rote…” said Sidharth kissing her forehead and hugged her soflty… Shehnaaz woke up and saw Mom standing in the entrance of the room and smiled.. She walked to her and hugged her tight..
“Bhagwan khush rakhe tum dono ko..” blessed Mom.. “Aapko mai sab bataungi.. Bho pyara hai Sidharth, bho pyara..” said Shehnaaz…
Sidharth turned around, “Shehnaaz, apne aap se kyu baat kar rahi hai..” His eyes then stopped on his mom and he walked to her, “Maa, aap yaha.. Good morning.. See, Tara is at our place for the weekend..” Tara snuggled into Sidharth as she got a little scared of Rita Maa.. “Aww baby, see, she’s Dadi.. say Dadi..” cooed Sidharth…
“Daddi.” Said Tara in her baby voice and Rita Maa couldn’t help but take her from Sidharth’s arms..
She cried as she held and looked at Sidharth… Sidharth went ahead and wrapped his arms around Mom, “Relax bache, Shushh.. It’s okay baby…” said Sidharth and patted her back… Tara felt the warmth of love in Rita Maa’s arms and she stopped crying..
Shehnaaz freshened up and went to make Tara’s breakfast.. Rita Maa was quite impressed with the way he calmed Tara down.. Tara then rested her head on her shoulder..
Shehnaaz came with food in her hand and Tara jumped again… Sidharth held her in his arms, “Let me change your diaper first..”
“Mai kar deti hu..” offered Shehnaaz but Sidharth denied and changed the diaper..
“Sidharth, tu itna sab karega mai nai sochi thi… Sachi Bebu, bada impress kiya hai tune mujhe..” said Shehnaaz and Sidharth beamed with pride… He threw the used diaper in the bin and changed Tara’s clothes…
Shehnaaz then tried feeding but Tara was just playing around and not eating.. Sidharth was watching all this and smirked, “Looks like you need help baby..” Shehnaaz just looked away.. She cooed, “Tara baby, thoda sa khaa lo.. Maasi chocolate degi fir aapko… Chocolate pasand hai na aapko…” saying so Shehnaaz put a bite in her mouth and she took it.. It tasted good and she didn’t trouble them much and ate happily..
“Sidharth, tune kapde kyu badal diya? Nahane ke baad change karte na…” said Shehnaaz and Sidharth cutely replied, “Meko Tara ko is red outfit me dekhna tha, kar diya change.. Kapde extra hai kafi…”
Shehnaaz was in awe of him, the way he was taking care of Tara seemed so pure and beautiful… The way he got angry and worried when he didn’t find her in the night, he came out searching for her showed how seriously he took her responsibility..
Shehnaaz filled up a bucket in the bathroom and removed Tara’s clothes, she made her stand in the bucket full of water and Sidharth came up with bath toys for her.. (I know they have a bathtub, but babies are small and that’s why making Tara play in the bucket instead of the bathtub)
“Tara, what is it?” asked Sidharth as he held a yellow duck in his hand…
“Buck” She cooed in her baby voice.. “No baby, say Duck..”
“Buck..” said Tara and laughed..
Sidharth laughed as well, “Sidharth, dekh kaise teri tang kheech rahi hai.. Usko aata hai Duck bolna, haina baby?” cooed Shehnaaz while washing her hair..
“Duck” said Tara and Sidharth couldn’t help but kiss her forehead…
Shehnaaz quickly cleaned her and wiped her with a towel… Sidharth wanted to dress her up yet again and Shehnaaz let him do it.. She helped him where required and he did the rest..
They both were so engrossed into Tara that they forgot to have breakfast..
Rita Maa came into their room and took Tara in her arms.. Tara had become friendly with her so she wasn’t crying.. “Tum dono nashta karo, dekho 1 baj rahe hai..”
Sidharth and Shehnaaz looked at each other and realized that they were actually hungry.. They walked out to the dining table and Rita Maa was in SidNaaz’s bedroom because all of Tara’s stuff was in there only…
Shehnaaz made a plate for them and fed sidharth.. He was happy doing everything for Tara but he got tired too… He then hugged Shehnaaz as they were settled on the floor.. He was so tired that he almost slept on Shehnaaz..
“Bebu.. Tara ka bhi sone ka time hai, chal kamre me chal ke so ja..” said Shehnaaz waking him up.. He agreed and got up he dragged her to the bedroom with him and looked at Tara sleeping on Mom’s lap..
“Tum dono araam karlo, mai dekhti hu thodi der.. Mere kamre me chale jao, Tara ka saman yaha hai mai yehi rehti hu..” said Mom and they agreed and left…
Sidharth had curled up himself around Shehnaaz and dozed off to sleep.. His mouth slightly open.. Shehnaaz brushed her fingers in his hair making him sleep sooner..
She kissed his forehead before sleeping herself…
Jay and Mahhi had arrived within an hour and took Tara home.. They thanked Rita Maa and said, “Wo dono ko rest karne do, kal shoot pe mil lenge..”
“He has become too attached to Tara, get her to work tomorrow since he hasn’t bid goodbye to her.. He will be very emotional..” requested Mom and they agreed..
