CHAPTER 116 NURTURING US

Sidharth had called Adith to the airport.. Once landed, he woke Shehnaaz up and she was still snuggled into him.. He checked her temperature; her fever had increased again..
“Meri jaan, thoda sa chal le.. Mai manage karta hu kuch..” said Sidharth as he held her while they walked.. He didn’t leave her at all and arranged for the electric car for both of them..
Once reached the exit, he again grabbed her in his arms as they walked.. Shehnaaz managed to walk till the car, they had a single bag so Sidharth carried it himself..
He requested the paps to give them space since Shehnaaz was sick and they agreed… Sidharth kept the bag inside and made her sit in the back seat… He settled along with her; she lay on his lap on the way back home…
He held her firmly so that she can lay comfortably.. “Adith, Bhai, jitna jaldi ho sakta hai ghar leke chal..” said Sidharth and grabbed his phone, dialed their regular doctor and called her home..
“Sidharth, mai thik ho jaungi.. Mat bula doctor ko.. Fir wo injection denge.. Maine ni lena.. Please na Sidharth..” said Shehnaaz snuggling deeper into his torso.. He rubbed her arm trying to comfort her, “Nai denge injection, meri jaan.. Relax kar.. Meko risk nai lena isliye better hoga hum proper medications lele.. trust me injection ki zarurat agar zyada nai hui to nai dene dunga..” said Sidharth kissing her face and finally pressing his lips on her forehead..
She gathered courage somehow and sat up once their house was close… He had kept his arms around her always.. He lifted her in his arms while taking her home.. Mommy looked at her face and she got worried immediately, “Meri bachi ko tu bimar kar ke laya hai..” said Mom and Sidharth looked at Mom in disbelief, “Like really? You’re seriously telling me this? Madam baarish me bheegi hai.. Usse bimar hui hai.. Please mujhe mat bolo kuch bhi..” said Sidharth..
He took her into the bedroom and just as they entered, the doorbell rang again.. It was Dr. Gupta and Sidharth greeted her and took her to their room..
“Hua kaise?” asked the doctor and Sidharth told her.. She gave some medicines and asked about the injection, “Comfortable ho to de deti hu.. Kyu ke aapko Saturday shoot karna hai.. Injection se medicine direct blood me jati hai to effect jaldi hota hai..” said the doctor..
Sidharth looked at Shehnaaz and held her hand, “Baby, mai hu na tere sath.. Please lele na..” said Sidharth and she frowned. “Har baar yehi keh ke mujhe pagal banata hai..” said Shehnaaz and he chuckled at her..
“Please na darling.. Ek bhot bada surprise dunga agar lagwa li to… Tu soch bhi nai sakti kya surprise hai..” said Sidharth and her eyes went wide.. “Aisa kya hai?” said Shehnaaz..
“Tu lagwa le pehle..” said Sidharth and she agreed.. The doctor looked at them and gave them blessings, “Bade pyare ho dono, Bhagwan tum dono ko hamesha aise hi khush rakhe.” Said the doctor.. Mom was busy cooking for them as Shehnaaz was sick…
Sidharth held his baby in his arms as the doctor gave her the injection.. “Bas, bas.. Ho gaya.. My brave baby..” cooed Sidharth and the injection was done..
The doctor bid goodbye to them and Sidharth went to drop her to the lift and thanked her for coming home in a single home call..
He went to see Mom once, “Kya bana rahe ho?” asked Sidharth, “Soup banai hu, vegetables wala.. Aur Daal Chawal.. Wo khaegi ye, mai janti hu..” said Mom and he agreed..
“Mai uske pass jata hu, Paani do na Mom..”
“Sidharth, lele waha bottle rakhi hui hai..” said Mom and he walked to the kitchen platform where the bottles were filled.. He grabbed two bottles, asked Shehnaaz to have water and she opened her arms at him, “Godi me bithaaa.” She cooed and he happily took her in his arms and made her lay on his lap..
“Ab bol..” said Sidharth knowing she wanted to say something for sure..
“Surprise bata ab..” said Shehnaaz and Sidharth smiled at her, “Thoda rukegi ya bata du?” asked Sidharth..
“Tujhe kya lagta hai? kya karu?” asked Shehnaaz, innocently.. Sidharth pressed his lips on her forehead and said, “Thoda sa ruk jaa, abhi se bata dunga to wo maza nai aaega..” said Sidharth and this little bean agreed..
He had turned on the geyser and asked her to take a shower since her fever was coming and going..
“Baby, ek shower lele.. Fir khana ban jaega.. Khaa ke so jana..” said Sidharth and she agreed.. While she was in the shower, he took out a full sleeves tshirt and pajamas for her and hugged mom once..
“You tired Maa?” asked Sidharth and Mom nodded, “No, I’m just worried for my baby..”
“Thik ho jaegi, relax..” said Sidharth and kissed her forehead.. Sidharth heard the bathroom door opening and he went in..
“Shehnaaz, all good na?” asked Sidharth and she smiled at him.. Because of the injection, she had good amount of energy in her all of a sudden.. She wore her clothes and was about to step out of the room when she saw Mom getting food served on a tray filled with fruits, soup, dal rice and some papad..
“Mai aa jati na bahar.. Aap pareshan kyu ho rahe ho Maa..” said Shehnaaz as mom kept the plate on the bed.. “Nai bache, isme kya pareshani hai.. Tera weekend Lonavla shoot hai, mujhe to wo soch ke hi tension ho raha hai.. I am telling you, Friday tak tu kahi bahar nai jaegi.. Ghar me hi reh ke araam karegi.. that’s it..” said Mom and Shehnaaz agreed.. “Jaisa aap bolo..” said Shehnaaz like an obedient child and Sidharth kept adoring her..
“Khade-khade kya dekhe jaa raha hai.. khila de bachi ko khana.. Ya mai khila du?” asked Mom, getting Sidharth back to reality and he came forward, “Nai, mai khilata hu..” said Sidharth and fed his baby..
Once done, Mom and Sidharth had dinner in the room, not wanting to leave Shehnaaz alone.. She kept talking and blabbering like a happy child and Sidharth took a sign of relief..
Once done with dinner, Sidharth said, “Maa, aap yaha ho, I am telling it in front of you.. Shehnaaz, Baby.. I will be there for you, but on phone.. Tu samjh.. Mai nai rahunga yaha iska matlab ye nai hoga ki tu jo marzi karegi.. Maa ki baat manna aur please, please, dawai time pe leti rehna.. Teri medicines Sunday tak chalne wali hai.. Packing karne ki koi zarurat nai hai.. Mai help kar dunga ya fir team se karwa lena.. Maa, aap iski koi zid puri nai karoge… Bahar nai jaegi ye aur kuch bhi ho mujhe call karo.. Mai nai uthaya to ruk jana mai call back karunga.. Samjh aaya dono ko?” asked Sidharth and his ladies nodded..
“Thank You..” said Sidharth and helped mom clear everything and then, Shehnaaz called both Mom and Sidharth.
“Maa, aapke samne bol rahi hu.. Tu sun Sidharth..”
“Ha Bhonko..” said Sidharth and she rolled her eyes at him while mom was just enjoying their banter..
“Maa, ye na Chetan ki band bajane jane wala hai… Bhot bhadka hai uske upar.. Mai nai chahti ki Sidharth uske muh lage.. Uski haar isme hi hai ki hum dono sath hai.. Isko bolo, karne de usko jo karna hai.. Reporter ko Kaushal sambhal liya hai.. Ab koi news nai chapegi to isko bolo door rahe usse.. Mujhe keh raha tha ki mai jo bhi karu rokna mat..” said Mom and he glared at her, cursing her under his lips as she told it to mom..
“sidharth, tum dono ki life me aise hi kaafi kuch ho raha hai.. Kaam kar rahe ho, fir abhi Shehnaaz ki tabiyat nai thik hai aur outdoor shoot hai.. In sab pe dhyan de and forget about Chetan.. Arjun will be back in town and things will be back to normal soon so please don’t get your hands dirty unnecessarily..” said Mom..
Sidharth had no option but to agree to mom and she bid goodbye to them since she was tired and sleepy..
Sidharth kept shooting death glares to Shehnaaz and she was enjoying it.. After a while, he came to bed but stayed away from her.. She went close to him wrapping herself around him and he didn’t keep his arm on her..
“Sidhaaarthhh..” She cooed and he just hummed.. “Pakad na mujhe.. Please Putthu..” said Shehnaaz and he couldn’t deny to his bean.. “Fuck! I can never say no to you man..” said Sidharth holding her back in his arms.. “Sorry, lekin Maa ko bolna zaruri tha warna tu manta nai meri baat is matter me..” said Shehnaaz and Sidharth himself knew she was right.. They slept in each other’s arms and had a little off night. Shehnaaz’s new medicines weren’t suiting her.. She happened to wake up and ran towards the loo.. Sidharth felt her being away and got up, he followed her to the loo, and rubbed her back as she puked..
He washed her face, got water for her and help her walk back to the bed.. “Meri Jaan, relax.. Mai tujhe purani wali medicines hi de deta hu..” said Sidharth and she agreed..
Sidharth made sure she was fine and then made her sleep again.. The night went smooth after that and he left for work in the morning, after kissing her forehead..
