CHAPTER 97 NURTURING US

Sidharth got madly stressed and crazy… He asked Adith, “Bhai, Shehnaaz hospital me hai.. Jaldi chal…”
Adith drove as fast as he could and Rita Maa asked the doctor if Shehnaaz had gained consciousness… “Haa, abhi hosh aaya hai lekin wo thodi pareshan lag rahi hai, keh rahi hai maine kuch galat nai kiya hai… Maine ek counsellor ko bheja hai baat karne, shayad wo stress me hai…” concluded the doctor…
“Kya mai mil sakti hu?” asked Mom.. “Haa, abhi Srijana, the psychologist unke pass thi, ab aap jaa sakte ho..” said the doctor and Mom went in while Naira waited outside… Srijana had managed to calm Shehnaaz down and had left..
Shehnaaz’s eyes were swollen and she looked like she had cried… She broke down again once she saw mom approaching her, “Maaa” She cooed and Mom sat on the corner of the bed and took her on her lap, “Mera bacha… Koi baat nai… Tu shant reh… Mai hu na tere sath… Kuch nai hoga…” said Mom brushing her fingers in her hair and calming her down…
“Sidharth kaha hai?” asked Shehnaaz… “Aa raha hai, tu thik ho ja bas… Uska mat soch abhi…” said mom and the nurse got food for Shehnaaz…
Rita Maa took the plate and made a bite and shoved it into Shehnaaz’s mouth… She made weird faces eating the plain food but she had no option, “Itne time khana khai nai, ab chup chaap jo de rahi hu wo khaa.. Aisa koi karta hai? kuch problem hoti to mere pass aati…” said Mom who was a little disappointed with Shehnaaz because she was suffering alone and wasn’t sharing anything and ended up being sick…
“Sorry Maa, agli baar kuch hoga to aapke pass aa jaungi… Promise!” said Shehnaaz and Mom hugged her, “Mera bacha, bas tu thik ho ja fir mujhe bhot kuch thik karna hai… Ab bataegi ki hua kya hai?” asked Mom and Shehnaaz narrated everything that Rehan had already told mom…
“Tu ruk ab bas..” said Mom.. “Tu agar Sidharth ki wakalat kari mere samne to mai tujhse naraz ho jaungi..” warned Mom because she was utterly angry with Sidharth… No one informed Sidharth about Shehnaaz gaining consciousness… He reached the hospital when Shehnaaz was asleep due to the effects of the medicines and Mom, Naira, Rehan, Ken and Mehul were sitting on the couch of Shehnaaz’s private room..
“Shehnaaz!” He called her name and was about to walk to her bed but was stopped by Mom…
“Ruk jaa yaha.. Kidhar jaa raha hai..?” said Mom and Sidharth gave a confused look, “Shehnaaz ke pass jaa raha hu, aap kya bol rahe ho Mom…”
“Teri harkate us layak nai hai ki tu meri bachi ke pass jaye.. Usko hosh aa chuka hai, jab ghar aaegi to mil lena…”
“Mom, why are you so angry? What is wrong?” asked Sidharth who wanted to walk to Shehnaaz but was stuck with mom… “Sidharth, you have been a very bad person to her in the past few days unnecessarily..”
“I know Mom and now I’m guilty of it but please abhi jane do uske pass mujhe… Please Mom…” begged Sidharth and Mom somehow let him go because even Shehnaaz wanted to see him…
Sidharth walked to her bedside, held her hand, “Kya ho gaya baby… Aise kaise tune apni halat kar di hai…” He said and she woke up…
“Shehnaaz! Mera baby..” He cooed and hugged her, she cried in his arms… He was clueless of what was troubling her, he didn’t talk to her neither did she…
Sidharth rubbed her back, “Mera bacha… Bas-bas meri galti ke liye mujhe maar, mere pe gussa kar lekin ro mat na please Meri Jaan..” said Sidharth and she hugged him a little tighter.. “Maine kuch nai kiya Sidharth… Kuch bhi nai…” said Shehnaaz and Sidharth felt extremely guilty with the way she had become because of him…
“Haa meri jaan, mai janta hu… Tu please shant ho ja abhi… Aise panic mat kar please…” He pulled out of the hug and gave her a glass of water… “Ye pee..” and she gulped in the whole glass at once…
“Shehnaaz, ab itna soch mat.. Mai galti kiya hu, tu nai.. Mai overthink kar raha tha.. Mai galat judge kar raha tha.. Tu sahi hai meri jaan.. Maine galti kardiya..” said Sidharth, breaking down and he hugged her tight…
Mom came in saw him like that… Her heart ached to see both of them like that, hurt and broken but yet in love… She came and kept her hand on both their backs, “Dono shant ho jao abhi.. Shehnaaz, bache tere khane ka time ho gaya hai… Ghar se banake laai hu..” said Mom and they separated..
“Mai khila deta hu..” said Sidharth and Mom left them alone again… Mom hugged Naira as she stepped out, “Kya karu mai in dono ka… Kaise ro rahe the aur ab..” Mom stopped talking and Naira spoke, “Nani, I know all that but Mami is a little under anxiety right now… And don’t forget, all what Mamu has done… Abhi ke liye, don’t say anything to both of them… Mental health is important so let Mami heal first, let her come back home and then we will talk to Mamu… Because this time Mamu has really crossed the line…”
Inside the room, Sidharth fed her bit by bit and Shehnaaz was becoming normal again…
Srijana knocked the doctor and Sidharth recognized her, “Hey? Did we meet on New Year’s in Canada?”
“Oh yes, you remember meeting me! Damn that’s huge… But work comes first and I need to talk to Shehnaaz Ma’am at the moment..”
“Sure..” said Sidharth and sat on the corner.. He asked, “Can I stay or should I leave?”
“Shehnaaz Ma’am? Are you comfortable?” Srijana asked Shehnaaz and she nodded in agreement..
Srijana turned towards Sidharth and said, “See, Ma’am is fine with you being here, also, I will have a conversation with you as well..” and Sidharth agreed..
“Hello Shehnaaz ma’am! Ap kaise ho?” said Srijana.. Shehnaaz recognized her now when she was calm, “Hii.. Please Ma’am mat bolo.. Sana bolo..” said Shehnaaz
“okay! Sana Ma’am, mai na yahan ki psychologist hu. Mujhe apke doctor ne bola ki ab bhot panic kar rhe the aur kuch bol rhe the… Mai thodi der Pehle aayi thi aapke pass.. Aap so gaye the shant hoke.. Ab Kya ap mujhe batayenge ki kya hua tha exactly last 2-3 days mein? Mai aapko assure karti hu ye baate koi aur nahi jaan paayegaa and poora confidentiality maintain kiya jayegaa. Sidharth sir yaha hai to unko pata rahega bas..”
Shehnaaz smiled a bit listening to this and said how she was hurt with Sidharth’s behavior in the vanity when she took food and how Sidharth asked her to leave.. And then the party, he had dinner without informing her and then coming home after being drunk and angry.. Media post of Sidharth and Riya when he was tipsy. She being upset that Sidharth doubted that she met Rehan seeing that snap and ignoring the old date of the snap.. His insecurity which hurts her… And also, that when he doesn’t talk she feels as if Sidharth will go away from her life and that scares her..
“Ma’am, apne Sidharth sir se baat karne ki koshish ki? Apne unko bataya ki jaisa wo soch rhe h waisa kuch bhi nahi h?” asked Srijana..
Shehnaaz said yes but also added, “ki yeh samjhta nai h and mere se har baar ye hurt hona nai liya jata…” After that, she stays silent…
“Abhi aapko kaisa lag rha hai share kar ke?”
Shehnaaz said, “Ye share agar khud Sidharth aake karta to zyada acha lagta.. Aap bura nai manna ki mai aapko third person bol rahi hu, lekin hamare beech ab ek teesre ko aana padha Baat karne clear karne le liye.. Mujhe usse problem hai… Aap aaye, meri anxiety control kiye uske liye thank You.. Lekin isko thodi akkal deke jao to mai khush houngi..” Shehnaaz ended her conversation with a hurt expression and Srijana decided to give her time and space..
“Aap apna khayal rakhiye. Mai apke discharge hone se pehle apse milne aaungi. Take care ma’am.”
I turned my back and went to Sidharth who was upset guilty to hear what bothered Shehnaaz so much, her hurt and his mistake…
“Sidharth sir, mujhe apse kuch baat karni hai.. Ap please next 30mins mein mujhse mere cabin me milne aa jayega please. And, it is something serious. I hope you understand. And I am sure you understood. I will surely look forward to see you!”
Shehnaaz had calmed down and Srijana left.. Sidharth walked to Shehnaaz and took her in his arms.. “Mera bacha, abhi naraaz hai?” he asked and she looked away…
“Tune bhot zyada hurt kiya hai.. Bhot si galat cheez kiya hai.. Maine nai Baat karni tujhse.. Tu ghar Jaa.. Shoot hoga kal.. Mai thik hu ab waise bhi..” Replied Shehnaaz in a very cold tone.. Rita Maa knocked the door and she got Naira and Rehan with her along with Ken Mehul and Kaushal..
“Hey Mami.. Kaise ho ab?” asked Naira and hugged her.. “Ab ek dm sahi hu.. Sab sahi bhi karungi ab..” replied Shehnaaz and Rita Maa understood her tone and her words..
Sidharth walked a little away giving place to other people.. Ken, Mehul and Kaushal met her for some time and Sidharth thanked them for leaving their work and getting her to the hospital.. They left and only family and Rehan were present..
Rehan casually tucked Shehnaaz’s hair behind her ear, “Kya Sana.. Aise meals skip karna achi Baat nai hai.. Gussa khane pe hai nikala jata aise.” Shehnaaz smiled at him and Sidharth was looking at all this from a corner…. His insecurity was already active.. It was increasing more.. And he wasn’t even saying it.. The built up was becoming more..
Their misunderstandings weren’t cleared yet in person.. Sidharth just heard her when she was talking to Srijana and she wasn’t talking to him after Srijana left..  Shehnaaz was now back in her normal mindset because of the counselling given by Srijana.. She got to know what Sidharth was thinking by Kaushal… He told her Sidharth’s side of the story and Shehnaaz was madly hurt because of what he was thinking..
She had planned to teach Sidharth a lesson this time.. She wasn’t at fault; she was all supportive and he suddenly got his insecurities in his mind..
Sidharth asked everyone to leave, “Guys, we need to talk.. I have to meet her counsellor in half an hour so I need to talk to Shehnaaz before that.. Please could you all leave us alone for some time?” asked Sidharth and everyone agreed..
Shehnaaz folded her arms around her chest as Sidharth came and sat on the corner of the bed..
