Sidharth was shocked and Shehnaaz was hurt, madly hurt.. She walked into her room and locked it from inside.. She sat on the floor, right next to the door and covered her face with her palm…
Sidharth walked into the house and Naira came out of her room.. She saw the bewildered expressions of her Mamu and asked him, “Ab kya kiya aapne?” Sidharth glared at her, “How do you know? Shehnaaz abhi just ghar aayi hai..”
“Sana ki chamchi..” scoffed Sidharth and Naira rolled her eyes at him, “Ho gaya drama aapka? Now please come to the point..” said Naira and Sidharth was being stubborn…
“I think I’ve pissed her off very badly..” said Sidharth, softly and not in his normal tone… “You are sounding low and that means kuch bhot bada hua hai.. Tell me please.. Is she crying again?” asked Naira, raising her eyebrows at him..
“Mom explained things to me after you did and she was soft and sweet to me.. Why are you being mean to me, han? Why?”  asked Sidharth..
“Acha baba, sorry.. Mai araam se puchti hu… Work stress kaafi hai and the laptop is really old.. Kaam ka pressure hai Mamu plus engagement.. Maa ko bhi nai mili hu jab se yaha aayi hu.. Upar se aap fir immature ho gaye ho pata nai kis khushi me and Mami ka abhi alag hurt hona chalu hai..” said Naira, wiping off the fake sweat from her forehead, “Itna sab kuch dekhna padhta hai mujhe.. Ab bol bhi do Mamu isse pehle ki baat hath se nikal jaye aur Mami zyada upset ho jaye..” said Naira..
Sidharth narrated the whole Riya wala incident and Naira held her face in her hands, “What the hell she wants? Why is she being like this? Riya toh SidNaaz fan thi na.. I saw her previous interview also where she was praising you in a different way.. Aisa lag raha tha you guys seeing each other.. You getting my point?” asked Naira..
Now Sidharth realized what Shehnaaz was talking about.. “Shehnaaz ne interview ka kuch bola toh tha.. Usne wo interview ignore kiya, nai bhadki mere pe ya sawal nai puchi.. but mai gusse me dhyan nai diya.. Show me that..” said Sidharth..
“Mamu, the interview is done and right now, I think you need to cajole mami.. You can watch it later.. She is down, please make her smile again..” said Naira and Sidharth found this suggestion better than watching the interview..
“Wish me luck..” said Sidharth and Naira wished him.. He walked towards his room and found it locked from inside, “Shehnaaz, open the door please..” said Sidharth..
Shehbaaz came from Mom’s room and Naira called him.. “Idhar aao..” said Naira and she told him what happened..
“Haye Siyappaa.. Mai jab se aaya hu, dono hurt hue jaa rahe hai.. In dono ko nazar lagi hai.. Gurudware jaake prashad laata hu dono ke liye..” said Baaz..
“Mera presentation bhi ban gaya hai, kal submit karna hai fir engagement hai parso.. Mai bhi chalti hu, pray kar lungi mai..” said Naira and grabbed her car keys, “Mamu, all the best.. Hum Gurudware jaa rahe hai..”
Sidharth nodded and again went on trying to make her open the door..
“Shehnaaz, ek baar meri baat toh sun..” said Sidharth.. Shehnaaz was adamant not to open the door..
Sidharth lost hope, he walked towards the couch and grabbed his phone.. He looked out for Riya’s interview and saw all what Shehnaaz saw the other day.. “Fuck.. Riya spoke itna unrealistic stuff.. Maine kabhi zyada baat bhi nai hu aur mere set pe nai aane pe miss karti thi.. Ye inko, unko kya laga ke rakhi hai.. Tabhi Shehnaaz bhadki thi.. Mannnn..” said Sidharrth..
The doorbell rang and Sidharth saw Mom coming in, “Mom, aap.. Aaiye na.” said Sidharth and Mom looked at him, “Kya hua ab?” Asked Mom..
He narrated the incident to her, “How could she sleep on your shoulder? Tera dimag kharab hai? no matter how angry you were at Shehnaaz, how could you let her come close to you as Shehnaaz does? Its very wrong..” said Mom..
“I know, but I didn’t mean it.. That happened very casually.. Please help me to get her to open the door..” requested Sidharth..
“Mai aise bhi usse milne hi aayi thi..” said Mom and walked towards the bedroom, “Shehnaaz, bache.. Mai hu, darwaza khol de.. Mat karna Sidharth se baat.. Mai tujhse milne aayi hu..” cooed Mom and Shehnaaz broke down.. She opened the door and hugged mom tight and sobbed like a baby..
Sidharth looked at her, she has been in a bad condition since the last morning.. He understood that in the previous morning she saw Riya’s interview and was upset but didn’t show it to him..
Sidharth walked close to Mom and took Shehnaaz in his arms.. She protested, tried to get away from him but he tightened his grip, “Mera bacha, shaant ho jaa. Bas, bas… Shushhh Baby..” He cooed..
“Mat bol mera bacha mujhe.. Tu ganda hai bhot.. Door reh mujhse aur jaake chipak us chudail se..” said Shehnaaz, trying to get off his arms again..
“Nai jaa raha kahi bhi.. Tere pass hi rahunga.. Tu kuch bhi karle, maar le peet le, gaali dede.. Bas mere sath hi reh..” said Sidharth..
Mom didn’t like witnessing their fight so she looked at Sidharth and walked out of the house, giving them space..
“Maa se milna tha, ho gaya.. Ab chor mujhe.. Maine andar jana hai.. Khana toh tu khaa ke aaya hai, ab bhad me jaa..” said Shehnaaz..
Sidharth actually didn’t have dinner… He just told her that he will be eating out before leaving and she assumed that he had eaten..
“Nai khaya hu.. tere bina nai khata mai khana..” said Sidharth, his arms still wrapped around her.. “Jhoota kahi ka.. Mujhe chor na Sidharth..” said Shehnaaz..
“Who toh mai nai chorunga, sorry..” said Sidharth..
She remained quiet and he rubbed her arms.. She calmed down and he put her to bed… Her face was pale and she looked weak, “Have you eaten at all in the whole day?” asked Sidharth and she nodded in disagreement, “Breakfast kiya tha..”
“Wo toh Chai biscuit khai thi, mai dekh raha tha..” said Sidharth and she just looked at him..
“Baby, are you crazy.. Mai pagal hu, mai kutto jaise react karta hu, iska matlab tu khana peena chor degi.. You sit here, Mai abhi aaya..” said Sidharth and walked out of the bedroom and called Naira, “Kaha hai?”
“Bas, Gurudware se nikal rahe hai.. Bolo..” said Naira.. “Perfect. Chole Bhature parcel lete aao sabke liye.. Like for four of us..” said Sidharth and Naira agreed..
He walked into the room with a glass of hot chocolate and sat in front of her, “Ye piyo..” said Sidharth and she gulped it in…
“I saw Riya ka interview.. I will take care of it.. I am sorry..” said Sidharth, looking away.. Shehnaaz had no energy to fight.. “Mai baat hi nai karna chahti tujhse.. Bahar jaa, dekh khana ban gaya hai toh Kavita Tai ko bol mujhe dede.. Mai sona chahti hu..” said Shehnaaz..
“Naira chole Bhature laa rahi hai.. Thoda sa ruk jaa Baby..” said Sidharth and she said an okay and grabbed her phone.. She was scrolling randomly and not looking at Sidharth…
He held her hand and she shook it away.. “Don’t touch me..” came the reply of Sherni Shehnaaz..
Sidharth felt a pain when she asked him not to touch her.. She was his little baby and his fierce wife at the same time.. Both were hurt, In different ways..
He walked out of the bedroom with a sad pout on his face.. He called Kaushal, “Ye Riya ne interview me kya boli hai?” asked Kaushal..
Sidharth was shocked, “Yehi mai tujhse puchne wala tha.. Ye kya karna chah rahi hai? jo bhi boli hai aisa kuch hai hi nai.. Mai shoot ke alawa kabhi kisi se zyada baat hi nai kiya hu.. Aur mere bare me aise baat kar rahi hai jaise meri girlfriend hai..” said Sidharth, he seemed quite frustrated, “Shehnaaz bhadak gayi hai kya ye dekh ke..” asked Kaushal..
Sidharth told him and added, “I want to meet her and clear it out.. Ye meri shadishuda zindagi me kalank laga degi..” said Sidharth..
“Tu mat mil bhai.. Shehnaaz maar daalegi tujhe.. Sath me mil lo ya fir discuss it on the call..” suggested Kaushal..
Sidharth agreed and disconnected the call and the doorbell rang.. Naira came in with Shehbaaz..
Sidharth took the food and took it for Shehnaaz, “Aaja, uth ke baith jaa..” said Sidharth and since she was hungry she got up.. He fed her and she ate well.. Once done, “Ho gaya mera ab..” said Shehnaaz and was about to lay down, “10-15 min ruk jaa.. Ek dm se letegi toh Ulti ho jaegi..” said Sidharth and she agreed.. Sidharth got food for himself and sat next to her on the bed and played some of SidNaaz songs on the tv..
She looked at the tv and then at him, “Sab samjh aa raha hai… Mai naraz nai hu.. Mai hurt hu.. Ye jo tune aaj harkat ki hai us Riya se chipak ke.. Bho galat hai Sidharth..” said Shehnaaz and it was evident how hurt she was..
He ate silently and turned off the tv.. She lay on the bed and turned her back like he did the last day.. He chuckled at her, “So bhi nai paaegi aur gussa hai toh attitude bhi dikhaegi..” thought Sidharth to himself…
