Chapter 41

Allison was at the grocery store when officers stopped her again. She rolled her eyes as she saw them approach.

"Can I help you?" she asked politely.

"We know your husband murdered Damon," one officer told her.

"And what makes you assume that?"

"Damon placed a call to the police before he was murdered."

"Interesting, pretty sure my husband told you to leave us alone. You can speak to our attorney if you need something."

She took Emersyn by the hand and continued her shopping. She knew they were following her and she really didn't care. She followed her daily routine.

"Mama, can we go shopping," the little girl asked.

"We already are shopping," Allison said.

"No for bubba's for Christmas."

Allison nodded. She stopped at the house to put the groceries away first and asked Nora, their sitter, to come sit with the babies while she took Emersyn out shopping. The little girl loved getting one on one time with her mother.

Allison stopped by the clubhouse to let Happy know about the officers approaching her again. Emersyn got excited when she saw where they were going.

"Mama, is daddy here?" she asked.

"There he is," Allison told her.

She parked the car and let her daughter out of the back. He stepped out of the garage. She looked at him as their daughter ran to him.

"Hey princess," he greeted their daughter.

"Hi daddy. I got bubba's and sissy Christmas," she said.

"That's great baby. Hey mama,"

He kissed Allison. She smiled at him.

"What's up?" he asked.

"Those officers stopped me in the grocery this morning," she said.

"Oh yeah?"

"Then followed me thru the store like a criminal."

Happy shook his head.

"I will let Lowen know," he said.

"This is getting ridiculous," she said.

"I know babe. I swear I had nothing to do with it though. You know me."

"I know you didn't do it, Hap. No worries there. I trust you."

He nodded. She sighed.

"Where are the babies?" he asked.

"At the house with Nora." she said.

He nodded.

"I wasn't dragging them all over while lil miss here did her shopping," she said.

"Yeah, she get them all what she wanted?" he asked.

"Yeah, she is good to go."

"Awesome."

"You gonna be home for dinner tonight?"

"Yeah, no church tonight so I will be home by six."

She nodded. He had been sticking to a routine lately so they had no reason to mess with him. Allison looked at her daughter.

"Em, we gotta get going. The boys will be home soon," she said.

"K," Emersyn hugged her dad's leg and ran back for the car.

Allison kissed her husband before following her daughter. She helped the little girl into the car. As soon as she pulled off the lot, she realized she was being followed. She did her best to remain calm.

"Mama," Emersyn said.

"Yes baby," Allison asked.

"We goin home?"

"Yes baby. The boys should be home soon."

"O-tay."

Allison pulled up to the house a few minutes later. She helped Emersyn hide the boys gifts before they got home.

Happy came home at six that night just as he said. He walked in the door shaking his head. Allison was already finishing up dinner. Emersyn ran to her dad. He picked her up and kissed her cheeks.

"Hey babe," he said walking into the kitchen.

"Hey just in time, dinner is almost done," she glanced at him.

"Our favorite stalkers are parked down the road."

"Nice."

"I'm gonna have to let Jax know what's goin on."

She nodded. He sighed. He set his daughter down when Mason began to fuss in the living room. He picked the boy up from the exersaucer.

"Whatcha fussing for boy?" he asked.

The little boys face lit up. Happy chuckled as he held him. Allison called the older boys to wash their hands for dinner. It was nice to be able to sit down to a family meal with them. Happy waited until after dinner to call Jax to let him know what was going on.

"What's up?" Jax asked as he answered the phone.

"Those cops are still up my ass," he replied.

"Seriously?"

"Yup, stopped Al in the store today and are parked down the block now."

"All right. We will have to have you lay low for a while. Means only working the garage and being in church. Legit spots for you to run."

"All right."

This whole thing was beginning to irritate him. He was supposed to have a few big jobs coming up but he wouldn't be able to do them with his new shadow. Jax knew this and would have to handle it. He would give Hap protection details at the porn studio but wasn't sure how Allison would deal with that.

Allison had just gotten Maia and Mason down for the night. She was getting ready to give Emersyn a bath.

"Mama," the little girl said.

"What baby?" Allison asked.

"I love you."

"I love you too baby girl."

Once the kids were all in bed, Allison sat on the couch with Happy. He pulled her into his arms and kissed her lips. She pulled away looking at him funny.

"What's wrong?" she asked.

"Job is gonna change a bit. Working the garage and then protection at the porn studio." he said.

"Hap."

"I won't mess up again, Al. I don't need this shit show to get any worse. I love you."

She nodded. He pulled her under him on the couch and kissed her gently.
