Happy knelt by the safe in their bedroom. He knew they needed to find a new house so he was trying to see what they had in the way of savings in the safe. Allison had just gotten Mason and Maia down for the night. Happy glanced at her when she walked in the bedroom. She sat on the edge of their bed.
"Hap, don't make me regret this," she said softly.
"I won't," he replied.
"How is the court paperwork coming for Maia?"
"Lowen contacted me today about who would take Maia if anything happened to me. I didn't know what to tell her."
"Happy, I would take her. She is a Lowman after all."
"I didn't want to assume nor make you think I was trying to push her on you. I want you to be comfortable. I know how hard this is for you."
Allison shrugged.
"Honestly, I think she is growing on me," she said.
"Yeah?" he asked.
"I just don't want to get super attached and that crazy broad come back. You know she will try to come back eventually."
"Babe, I have that all under control. I won't let her take Maia from us."
Allison nodded. They were going to start looking at houses the next day.
"Are you going to be available to go house hunting or is this on me?" she asked.
"I'm free tomorrow babe," he said.
She nodded. He kissed her lips. She smiled and pulled him down onto their bed with her. He chuckled as he kissed her. She wrapped her arms around his neck. He ran his fingers thru her hair.
"I missed you so much," he said.
"I missed you too," she replied.
He kissed her again. She pulled back and looked into his eyes.
"Don't do that again," she said.
"What?" he asked.
"Hurt me."
He shook his head.
"I can't lose you, Allison," he said.
She nodded. He rolled off her and propped himself up on his elbow. He was clad in his boxers and jeans only leaving his tattoos exposed on his chest. She rolled into him and snuggled against his chest. She thought about everything they had been thru.
Flashback
Allison lay on Happy's bed. He wasn't paying any attention to her though as she had come over to complain about her boyfriend.
"Al, I don't care," he said.
"But Hap," she whined.
"No Al. I don't want to hear about some other asshole."
She pouted as she lay there. He glanced over at her and shook his head.
"You don't get it do you," he asked.
"Get what?" she asked.
He sighed heavily. She sat up and moved closer to him. He turned his head and pressed a kiss to her lips. It wasn't the first time they had kissed.
"Hap," she sighed.
"I love you, Allison," he replied.
"I love you too Hap."
"No, Allison, I'm in love with you. I don't want to hear about your dumbass boyfriend because I want to be your boyfriend."
She sat there looking stunned. He got up to leave the room.
"Hap," she said.
"What?" he asked, stopping at the door.
"What took you so long?"
He looked back at her. She had a smirk on her face. He moved back to the bed quickly and kissed her again. She let him lay her back on the bed.
End
Allison traced over the tattoo that he had for her on his body. He shivered under her touch. She lay back on the pillow and watched him for a moment.
"What?" he asked.
"Remembering our first time together," she said.
He chuckled. He remembered it as well. He had thought that Allison had been sleeping with all the other guys that she had been with but she hadn't.
"Happy," she said.
"Do you regret it?" he asked.
"That you are the only man that I've been with?"
"Yeah,"
"No, I don't. Happy, do you know why I mentioned all those annoying boyfriend's?"
"Why?"
"Because I wanted you to be jealous so you would finally see that you wanted me."
"How did you know that I wanted you though?"
"Honestly, I didn't. Your mom had said something about it when I was upset about Carter. Then after you kissed me after the Jordan thing, I realized I was in love with you. But you never acted like you wanted me after that kiss so I didn't think I stood a chance."
"Now look at us. Got four crazy ass kids and on the rocks."
She lightly hit his chest. He laughed and lay back on the bed. They were watching a movie together. She snuggled into his chest and yawned.
"Go to sleep, love. I'm not going anywhere tonight. I promise," he said.
She nodded. He smiled and kissed the top of her head. She closed her eyes, letting his heartbeat lull her to sleep.
He lay there awake thinking about just how good he had it. He had gone to prison before Noah was born. It hadn't been fun and he had worried that she would leave him but she was there for every visitation and held him down while he was there. She had taken care of his mother and kept their house going.
Flashback
Allison walked into the prison, with her little baby bump beginning to show. She signed in and sat to wait to see Happy. She was angry that he was in prison as he was going to miss their son's birth. She didn't want him to be alone in there though. She knew a few club members were with him but she was his wife. It was up to her to hold him down. She put money on his books and took care of his mother. They called the visitors in. Allison made her way to the designated table. She waited for Happy to come in. As soon as she laid eyes on him, she tried to keep her tears at bay. She didn't want to seem weak to him.
"Hey babe," he smiled.
"Hey," she replied.
"How's Ryder?"
"He is good. Growing like a weed and eating everything in sight."
Happy nodded. He knew about the pregnancy. He wasn't sure she wanted to talk about it. He knew that she was mad at him for it.
"How have you been feeling?" he asked.
"I've been all right. Been able to eat a little more with this one than I ever did with Ryder," she said.
"I'm sorry that I won't be there for you when he is born."
"I know Hap."
He sighed.
End
Allison never brought that all up though. She remained quiet about it.
