Things slowly began to return to normal for them. The older boys continued to go to school, Mason and Maia were growing like crazy, and Emersyn was always helpful. Allison looked at her husband as he walked in the door. He had been at the clubhouse getting more updates on Lyssa. He moved in and kissed her quickly before she could ask any questions. He needed some time to process it all.

"Kids in bed?" he asked.

She nodded. He nodded slightly. She was working on cleaning up the kitchen. Happy sat down at the table just watching her. She put a beer down in front of him.

"Thanks babe," he said.

"You look stressed Hap," she replied.

He shrugged. He wasn't sure how to deal with her. He knew she wasn't going to be happy about what he had found out. She sat down across from him.

"What's going on?" she asked.

"Juice got a hit on Lyssa today," he said.

"Yeah?"

"Yeah, she isn't in Cali anymore as of now. So all we can do is just monitor where she is,"

Allison nodded. He was surprised that she was taking it so well. He knew that she wanted it dealt with. He sighed heavily. She shook her head.

"Maia is safe and we are all together, so we are doing ok," she said.

"I just know there is always a risk of her coming back," he sighed.

"We will deal with it."

He nodded.

"We have another charter handling this shit as soon as she slips up. For now she keeps managing to stay just a step ahead of them," he sighed.

"It will happen and things will be fine, Hap," she replied.

"Babe,I just want shit back to normal."

"Happy, shit has never been normal for us. I mean damn babe, we live with chaos daily. You run the risk of going to jail again every time you leave the house."

He chuckled. Allison wasn't wrong. He had been to jail a few times now and she was always by his side. He couldn't deny that his ol' lady knew how to hold him down. She was always right there handling shit and she was able to do it with all of the kids.

"You know no matter what, this shit is coming back on me," he said.

"Don't say that shit," she snapped.

"Al, it is common sense. I'm the only person with a reason to want her dead."

"I thought they were handling it,"

"They are but that doesn't mean anything. You know how shit goes. It's not me doing it so who knows how sloppy it's gonna be."

"Just shut up, we aren't talking about it anymore."

"Fine."

He rolled his eyes and glared at her for telling him to shut up. She didn't care what he thought at this point.

"We need to go see your mom," she said.

"Why?" he asked.

"Because she hasn't even met Maia yet."

He nodded. He knew that his mother already knew the little girl was back home. He wasn't looking forward to the lecture he was going to get as to how this was all his fault. If he had been able to keep it in his pants and not cheat on his wife, he wouldn't have the issues with a crazy baby mama.

"She is gonna yell at me," he sighed.

"Probably. I didn't know you were ignoring her calls," Allison said.

"She started giving me shit about this situation again while you were in the hospital,"

"You don't think you deserve that?"

"I do, but damn. Now she has your mom and my aunt in on it all."

Allison chuckled. Those three women together were hell on earth sometimes. Happy and Allison had hardly gotten away with anything as kids. It was as if those women had eyes everywhere.

"My mom said I should have just divorced your ass," Allison said.

"Probably," he sighed.

"Oh no, she definitely said it. Asked me repeatedly during our separation and then asked if I was screwing Damon."

"Did you?"

"Excuse you? We have been over this too many times now."

Happy chuckled as Allison got irritated. He knew they weren't going to be able to continue to avoid his mother or Allison's mother.

"Man, I wish your mom would have just stayed in Arizona," Happy said.

"Yeah me too. It was calmer in Bakersfield without her," Allison agreed.

Happy nodded. Allison's mother, Shelly, had just moved back to Bakersfield within the last month. She had used the excuse that she missed everyone because Happy could hardly find time to go down there with the family for her to spend any real time with her grandkids.

"Oh well, such is life," Allison said.

She and her mother constantly butted heads about practically everything. It was always an argument. Happy cheating had been Allison's fault according to her mother. She wasn't keeping him satisfied apparently which is why he stepped out on their marriage. Allison wasn't about to take advice from her man-eating mother.

She couldn't remember the last time that her mother had a serious boyfriend. She had almost always had one night stands. Even Allison's father had been a one night stand, whomever he was. Allison never asked and Shelly never offered any information about the guy.

"Babe," Happy brought her back to reality.

"What?" she asked.

"I gotta go,"

He was headed out to deal with more of the Lyssa drama. Allison sat back in the chair she had sat in and shook her head. She didn't know that he wasn't going to be sticking around. She finished everything, locked up, and headed to bed. He came in about an hour later. She snuggled back into his chest. He held her tightly and they both fell asleep.
