Happy returned home that weekend and was shocked to find his wife and kids gone. He was worried right away.
"Prospect, you seen my wife?" he demanded.
Rat boy shook his head. Happy growled at him. He picked up his phone and called his mother.
"Hey Happy," Elena answered.
He could hear the kids in the background. It calmed him a bit.
"Allison with you?" he asked.
"She is here, yes," his mother replied.
"Can I talk to her?"
"Allie, honey."
"I don't want to speak to him," Allison said.
He had no idea what had happened between the last time he spoke to her and now. He was confused.
"Ma," he said.
"Happy, the girl is upset," his mother replied.
"For what? What did I do now?"
"You need to speak to her about that son. She arrived here with the babies very distraught and I am tired of seeing that girl cry."
"Ma."
"Boy, ma me one more time."
Happy sighed. He had no idea what was going on. He knew the only way he would get answers would be to go see his mother. He had to basically force Allison to talk to him. He went to the main room of the clubhouse.
"What's up?" Jax asked.
"I need to ride out to Bakersfield to find out what is going on with Allison," he said.
"All right. Let me know when you're back."
Happy nodded. He rode out to his mother's house. He pulled up a few hours later. His son met him at the door.
"Mama don't want to see you," he said.
"Boy, what did I tell you about getting in grown folks business," Happy asked.
"Mama told me to tell you."
Elena came out of the kitchen. She greeted her son and put her hand on her grandson's head.
"Ryder, go play. Nana has this." she said.
"Where's my wife?" Happy asked.
"We need to talk son."
"Mama, where is she?"
"Victor, sit your ass down and listen."
Happy took a seat at her kitchen table, knowing better than to argue with his mother. He could see his wife in the backyard with the kids.
"Happy, what is this shit that I am getting another grandchild with a girl that isn't your wife?" Elena asked.
"Ma, I don't know if it's my child or not," he said.
"Why is that even an issue at this point in time?"
"I fucked up, Ma."
"Obviously."
"So why is Allison so angry at me now that she won't talk to me? She has known since Mason was born."
"I don't know that son. She arrived yesterday with the kids and was extremely upset. She hasn't wanted to talk about any of it though."
Happy nodded. He knew he would have to get to the bottom of it. He looked out into the backyard again.
Allison was holding Mason while the other children played around her. He stepped out into the backyard. She looked up at him for a moment. He moved toward her. Emersyn ran at him and threw herself at him. He scooped her up and kissed her cheek.
"We need to talk, Al," he said.
"No we don't. I called the attorney yesterday," she replied quietly.
He stopped and looked at the kids.
"Why don't y'all go see see Nana for a bit," he said.
The kids all ran inside the house. Happy took the baby from Allison and handed him off to his aunt. He closed the door and turned to Allison. His eyes had definitely changed. She sat down at the patio table that his mother had. He sat down as well.
"What changed Al?" he asked.
"I can't do it any more. She showed up at my house and then more fuckin pictures showed up at the house of you with other bitches on the run. I can't even say that I care about the girls but Happy, our son saw that shit this time," she said.
"What the fuck?"
"I can't do it and I won't allow our children to have any part of that shit that goes along with your bullshit so your baby mama can have you."
He sat there and stared at her. She was on the verge of tears and he felt horrible.
"Al," he began.
"Happy, there is nothing that you can say right now to make this better," she said.
"Allison shut up and fuckin listen to me."
She glared at him. He looked at her.
"I'm sorry that this shit has happened to us. I'm sorry that I fucked up. I'm sorry that you don't trust me anymore. I'm sorry that I have hurt you and our kids." he said.
She looked down at the table.
"If you want this divorce, I will give it to you. I don't want to hurt you anymore. I don't want you to hate me anymore. I can't change the shit I've done," he said.
Allison felt the first tear fall from her eyes. She wanted him to fight for their family. She wanted him to fight for her and their love. He felt a knot grow in his throat as he realized that she was now crying.
"If that's not what you want, then we won't do it. I want you to have whatever it is you think you need Allison," he said.
"Just fuckin go Hap. It's what you have wanted from the beginning. You have always wanted it since you joined the damn club. You haven't been there for me since before Ryder was born. The club is the worst thing that has ever happened to us," Allison sniffed.
"You can't say that when you have everything you do because of the club."
"Fuck it all. Take it all back. I don't care about any of it."
"You work for the damn club as well."
"No I work for the garage and that will be changing as well. We divorce and I will not be staying in Charming."
"So you think you're gonna take my kids from me?"
"No, Happy. I want to move them closer to your mother and farther away from the club."
Happy sighed heavily. She walked over to the door and went inside. She didn't want to deal with it anymore.
