Chapter 27

AN: Sorry for the delay. Been a busy few days and I kinda lost the desire to write. I have a few stories on here and haven't updated a lot. I need to get back at it. I appreciate the support and the votes. Comments are always appreciated as well!! On to the story

"What do you mean she showed up on the lot?" Allison asked.

"I mean she just left making claims of trying to get Maia," he said.

"Jesus Christ, Hap."

"I just wanted you to be warned about it babe. I am sending Rat over to stay with you and the kids. Gemma is gonna pick the boys up from school for you."

"All right, Hap."

"Babe, don't be mad at me."

She sighed heavily. She really couldn't remain mad about it because it had happened. Maia was here and there wasn't anything that would change that. She looked over at Mason and Maia in the living room. Emersyn was watching cartoons.

"Rat is on his way already. I don't know if she is following him so just stay vigilant,"  he said.

"I will, I love you, Hap," she replied.

"I love you too, beautiful."

He got off the phone to get back to work. He figured that she was going to try some shit with him at some point.

"Gem, you sure that you're all right with getting the older boys?" he asked.

"Yeah, it will be fine," Gemma replied.

He nodded and walked back to the bay that he was working in. He continued his work day. He realized that he was being followed when he headed out on club business. It wasn't anything major. He was checking in on the clubs legit businesses. He then headed back to the clubhouse to get to church. He headed home later ensuring that he lost the tail before actually going home.

"Babe," he called as he walked in.

Maia was crying as was Mason. He entered the kitchen. Allison looked at him and sighed.

"What happened?" he asked.

"She showed up here shortly after Gemma dropped the boys off," she said.

"Jesus, everyone all right?"

"She said she saw you going to Red Woody."

"She did, I had to go check on Lyla for Jax. She wasn't answering but I found out why. She was in the middle of a shoot and her phone was in the office."

Allison glanced at him. He stared at her for a moment.

"I promise. I won't be offended if you call Jax to verify," he said.

She shook her head. If he was offering the call to Jax, then he wasn't lying. He picked up Mason who was still fussing. She looked at Brooke who had come over to help her out. The girl had just scooped up Maia. She had been helping Emersyn with something. Rat was keeping guard outside at the moment. Brooke had been there since Gemma dropped off the boys. She had seen Allison handle Lyssa like a champ but it had obviously rattled her. She hadn't let it show while Lyssa was there.

Happy carried Mason from the kitchen. Brooke followed with Maia in her arms.

"She is shook up," she said to Happy.

"I know. She will be all right. I will handle this shit with her later. She knows how to hold it together and keep our family together," he replied.

He set Mason on the floor and gave him a few toys. He went back to talk to his wife. Allison was busy cooking now and not paying attention to him at all. He wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed the back of her neck.

"I love you, mama," he said.

"I love you too," she replied.

"I'm sorry that this is all happening to us. I'm sorry that I did this to us."

She nodded. He smiled. He knew that his woman could handle anything that life threw at them. He wasn't trying to push it though.

"Al, what did she say to you?" he asked.

"I'm not her mother," Allison whispered.

"Gorgeous, you are her mother. No one can change that. You were obviously meant to be her mother since you have been there since day one. She checked out."

Allison nodded.

"She wants to go to court. Biology always wins, Hap," she said.

"Love, we won't let that happen. I promise," he said.

"Happy,"

"Don't start thinking like that Allison Janae. We will make it thru all that is going to be thrown at us. I promise."

She nodded. He turned her around in his arms.

"I will be there for it all," he said.

"I would hope so because it's your fault," she replied.

"I know it is."

He kissed her lips and held her close to his chest. She sighed. He let go to go check on the other kids. Ryder looked up at him. He was working on his homework.

"Hey dad," he said.

"Hey bud, how's it going?" Happy asked.

"That lady was here."

"Yeah I heard. What did you see or hear?"

"She wants Maia. Said mom isn't her mother and she won't let a whore raise her kid. Mom told her to get out of the house. Crazy lady tried to grab Maia from the swing but didn't unbuckle her. She just pulled her and almost made it all fall on her."

"Your mom didn't tell me all that."

"I'm not supposed to either but dad, mom was really upset."

"I'm going to fix it all. I promise."

Ryder nodded. Happy sighed as he left the room. He walked back to the kitchen where he caught Allison wiping a tear from her face. She was obviously upset still. He quickly moved toward her while calling Brooke to keep an eye on the dinner that Allison had cooking.

"Baby, just let go. I got you," he said quietly.

She shook her head. He pulled her down the hallway to their bedroom where he knew he had to get Allison to break down before it took over her every thought.

"Al, come on babe. I know more happened. Ryder told me." he said.

"Hap, she didn't care about Maia's safety at all. She didn't even care that she hurt her. We can't let her go to a monster like that," she sniffed.

"I know baby girl. We won't let her take Maia. I promise."

She broke down in his arms where none of their kids could see it. He just held her tightly and let her get it all out of her system.
