Happy received a frantic phone call from Gemma that sent his head into a tailspin. He and Tig had been out on a run and he hadn't really had much to do with his wife all day. He had avoided her after taking his older boys to school.
"What's going on Killa?" Tig asked.
"Al, Ryder, and Noah were just in an accident. We gotta go, Tiggy," Happy replied.
The two of them raced back to Charming and straight to St. Thomas to find out what was going on. Happy rushed inside, finding Gemma in the waiting room with his younger two kids. Other club members were with her. He went straight to the desk to find out where they were.
"Victor Lowman. I'm looking for my wife and boys," he said.
"One moment. A doctor will be out to speak with you," the woman said.
"No now, where the fuck are my kids and my wife?"
"Sir, you need to calm down."
Happy growled at her. A doctor came into the waiting room.
"Noah Lowman," he said.
Happy glared at the lady at the desk for a moment before walking toward the doctor.
"I'm Noah's dad," he said.
The doctor looked taken back for a moment before nodding.
"Noah is all right. He has a set of stitches in his forehead where he hit the window. They will need to come out in seven to ten days," the doctor said.
"And his brother?" Happy asked.
"I only worked on Noah, sir. Another doctor will update you on any other patient that may have been brought in."
Happy nodded slightly. Emersyn had firmly attached her arms around his leg now. He looked down at her before reaching to pick her up. A second doctor entered the room.
"Ryder Lowman," he said.
"I'm his dad," Happy said again.
"Ryder is doing well. He broke his wrist in the crash. We believe he braced for the impact. They will put a splint on it to allow for some of the swelling to go down before they actually cast it for the next six weeks at least," the doctor said.
Happy nodded, glad to know both of his boys were all right. He just needed word on Allison now.
A third doctor entered the room and looked around.
"Allison Lowman's family?" she asked.
"I'm her husband," Happy said.
"Allison was taken up to surgery as she broke a few ribs and collapsed a lung. We were able to reinflate it but we will do surgery to deal with the internal bleeding that she now has. I can show you to the surgical waiting room if you would like."
"I have two boys down here as well."
"I can check on their status to see when they will be released if you would like."
Happy nodded. He was worried about Allison. He knew that there was only so much that he could do. Accidents happen but he was so worried that he was out for blood. They were all taken upstairs to the surgical waiting room. He carried Emersyn up with him as she was still in his arms. She clung to him.
He worried about Allison and how this was going to set her back. She had just healed from having Mason and now she was going to have this battle to deal with. He still felt bad for calling her a slut.
"Mr. Lowman," a nurse said a few hours later.
Happy looked up her. She smiled at him.
"Your wife is awake. She wants to see you," she said.
Happy nodded. He left his daughter with Gemma since he didn't know how bad it was. He followed the nurse to Allison's recovery room.
"We will move her to another room and the kids will be able to visit once she is there," the nurse explained.
Happy nodded. He felt nervous as he walked into the room. Allison looked over at him. Her face had cuts and bruises. She was pale otherwise. He could see the IV like running in her with the blood transfusion they had to give because she had lost so much. She had a chest tube from the collapsed lung. He stared at her.
"I look that bad," she asked.
"Babe," he began.
"Stop, I know it's bad. It hurts like hell, honestly."
Happy nodded. He sighed.
"What happened?" he asked.
"Someone ran the red light on the way home from the boys school. I had the green, Hap I swear," she started to cry.
"Hey, none of that. I know you are always careful when our kids are in the car. It's all right babe. Accidents happen. The boys are fine. Nothing major for either of them. You took the worst of it and I worried about you a lot. This is twice now, you have tried to leave me to raise our heathens alone."
"I don't want to not be here. I swear. I was so scared Hap. I saw it coming and there was no way I could stop it."
"Well you are still here and the kids are good. We will get you thru this. I promise."
She nodded. He gently kissed her forehead. She sighed. She felt like she had been hit by a truck without the added safety of being in her vehicle.
They came around a few hours later to finally move her to a room. They moved the two boys in with her. They wanted to keep Ryder over night and have a cast on him before he went home. Noah had been released in Happy's care. He let all three of his younger kids spend time with their mother before he had to get them home for bed. He was going to use what was left of the pumped milk in the freezer for Mason, but eventually the boy would have to go on formula.
Allison was extremely upset over not being able to breast feed him because of the way her rib broke and the blood transfusion and medications. He felt for her but they just wanted to be as safe as possible when it came to their kids. Happy called the school to let them know that Noah would not be in the next day.
