Happy was the one who went back to pick up his oldest son that afternoon. Allison stayed home with the other kids. Ryder walked out the door of the school and grinned when he saw his father on the bike. He loved getting to ride with his dad. He jogged over to him. Happy handed him a helmet. He already knew how to put it on the right way. Because they were so young, to ride with their dad they had to have a full helmet. It was one thing that Allison wouldn't budge on when it came to the kids riding with him.

"Where's mom?" Ryder asked, as he let his dad check the strap on the helmet.

"She's at home with the other monsters," Happy told him.

"Oh."

"Come on kid, I ain't got all day."

Ryder made a face at him behind the shield of the helmet. Happy waited til he was settled before taking off. Ryder was shocked that they didn't go straight home. Happy took him out to the clearing in the woods. Ryder stepped off the bike and removed the helmet. He looked at his dad strangely.

"I haven't been that bad have I?" he asked.

Happy shook his head and chuckled.

"Boy, what is wrong with you?" he asked.

"We all know what you do for the club, dad," Ryder said.

"And you think I would do that to my own son?"

The kid shrugged. Happy pulled the kid into a hug. Ryder sighed. Happy looked at his boy and then looked around the area.

"Ryder, I want you to know that no matter what happens in our lives I love you, your siblings and your mother." he said.

"Ok," Ryder was confused.

"I know that yesterday at school was confusing for you. Noah's been talking most of the day about what was said to you both. I know you have grown up in the club but I would never do that to you guys or your mom. I know I don't normally talk about feelings and that's why you are giving me this look but I need you guys to know that what I do is for your safety."

"Dad."

"I know you don't want to talk about any of this but you are getting older. You aren't a baby anymore and we can't hide everything about it anymore."

Ryder nodded. There had been rumors that had gone around the school but no one was brave enough to say anything to Ryder's face because of who his dad was. He looked at his father.

"Just know that no matter what ever happens, I'm here and I want you to be able to talk to me about things," Happy said.

"I know dad. I will talk to you or mom if I need to. I promise," Ryder replied.

Happy nodded. He took his son home. Allison looked at him as they walked in the door.

"Where have you two been?" she asked.

"Went for a ride," Happy said.

"Yeah?"

"Father son talk, mama."

She rolled her eyes. Happy leaned down and kissed her. She sighed against his lips. Ryder made a face and took his chance to escape the room. Allison pulled away from her husband.

"I just wanted to make sure that our son is ok after yesterday," he said.

"Noah's going to be fine and Ryder doesn't normally let things about you bother him," she replied.

"Yeah but it wasn't just me that they were talking shit about this time. They were on you this time and you are the constant for our kids. I know I screw up. I have been to jail since the boys were born. I can't change that. I risk that shit daily babe."

"I know you do but those boys don't love you any less. You are still their hero, Hap."

He nodded. She shook her head and went to start on dinner. He followed her into the kitchen and pulled her back into his chest. He knew that he didn't deserve her but he was thankful for her. She looked up at him.

"How did I get so lucky?" he asked.

"What do you mean?" she asked him.

"You should have never forgiven me after Maya. I am so glad that you did. I thank God for you babe."

"You should. We have been through hell together Happy. I mean we grew up together. I don't want this to sound awful but I don't really know anything other than you."

"I honestly love that about you. Knowing I'm the only one that you have been with is an incredible feeling."

She sighed.

"Wish I could say the same," she said lowly.

"Babe," he began.

"You brought it up, Happy."

"I know. I'm sorry baby. I really am. I shouldn't have done it. I should have been happy with what I had at home and I know how much I screwed up."

She nodded. He pulled her back.

"Listen to me, Allison. I will spend the rest of my life attempting to make that up to you and I know that I won't ever be able to completely fix it. I am sorry and you deserve so much more than me, this club, all the bullshit. But I'm selfish. I don't want to let you go." he said.

"I didn't ask you to let me go," she said.

"I know you didn't. It's what I love about you. You are the strongest woman I know after my mom."

"Why do you think that is?"

"Because that woman helped raise you."

"Of course. She has been a huge influence on my life and I will always be grateful to her. I love you Happy and we will make it through anything life throws at us. We have to."

He nodded. He leaned down to kiss her one more time before letting her go so she could start cooking. She was confused by his surge of emotions and it left her slightly on edge as she moved to get dinner made. He had gone to the living room to hang out with the kids. She could hear Emersyn begging him to watch cartoons with her.
