Happy took Allison and the kids home once they were released. Allison was in a lot of pain as her ribs were still healing. She was sore and ready to sleep in her own bed. When they got to the house, Juice and Bobby were there to help get everyone inside.

Juice pulled the infant seat from the back while Bobby took Emersyn inside. The boys headed in the house by themselves. Happy carried Allison inside. She was exhausted already. He took her up to the bedroom and lay her on the bed. She yawned.

"Get some rest, I've got the kids," he said.

"Hap, why are you being so nice to me now?" she asked.

"I'm sorry for what I said to you. I really didn't mean it. I was just mad."

She nodded as the pain medication took hold and her eyes grew heavy. He kissed her forehead and walked out of the room to let her rest. He sat in the living room with everyone else.

"How's she doing?" Juice asked.

"Pretty sure she is in a lot pain and she hates me," he said.

"Are you getting her a new car?"

Happy looked at the younger man.

"Obviously I'm going to get her a new car dummy," Happy said.

Juice nodded. Happy sighed. Ryder came into the room.

"Dad, my arm hurts," he said.

Happy gave him a dose of medication and then gave him an ice pack. They tried to settle back in. Allison's phone went off. Happy picked it up from her purse. His blood boiled when he saw the name on the screen. He answered the call.

"Allison's phone," he said.

"Can I speak with her?" the male voice asked.

"She is asleep."

"Just let her know that Damon called to check in on her."

Happy hung up without another word to him. His own phone went off and he pulled it from his Kutte.

"Fuck my life," he said.

He answered the phone anyway.

"What do you want?" he asked.

"I have a doctor's appointment next week. I just wondered if you wanted to go with me?" Lyssa asked.

"Are you able to do the paternity test?"

"We could but there are risks to me and the baby,"

"Then we wait. I ain't gonna make you risk the damn kid."

"So will you go?"

"Nope,"

She sighed.

"You're at her house aren't you?" she asked.

"What difference does it make? We ain't a couple nor will we ever be a couple. You ain't my old lady and never will be. You might be a baby mama that's it."

"You are so mean."

"I am what I am."

He got off the phone when his son came into the room. He wasn't putting up with her drama. He was busy with everything that needed to be done around the house. He brought in prospects and made them do the housework for Allison. She needed her rest to heal. He took her phone up to her and set it on the night stand.

"Thank you," she said with her eyes closed.

"No problem, babe," he said.

"Anyone call?"

"That douchebag Damon did."

She nodded. She wasn't sure she wanted to call him back. She looked at her husband. He smiled and kissed her forehead.

"Prospects are downstairs cleaning," he said.

"Happy, they better not be touching my underwear," she snapped.

"Never that baby. I got those under control."

He smiled at her. She rolled her eyes.

"Don't get cute Lowman," she said.

"I love you." he replied.

"Yeah?"

He nodded.

"Of course I do." he said.

"I have a check up next week to see how the ribs are healing," she told him.

"I got you babe."

"You sure?"

He nodded. She wasn't sure if she should believe him. He could see the doubt on her face.

"I also gotta get you a new car. Any idea what you want?" he asked.

She shook her head. He sighed. He was going to have to come up with something for her because they wouldn't all fit in his truck together with the new baby.

"Navigator?" he asked.

"Sure, in blue?" she questioned.

"Sure babe."

He set out on the search for the new vehicle. He had left the prospects with his family to find the vehicle she wanted. He got Juice to go with him to drive it back to Allison's place.

He was there a week later to take her back to the doctor for a check up. She was surprised that he was actually there with her. He helped her into the office. He wasn't shocked to see Lyssa as they entered the hospital. He had one hand on Allison's back. Gemma had Mason and Emersyn at the garage while they were at Allison's appointment. Lyssa looked at him and then looked away.

"Come on babe," Happy said.

"Ain't that your baby mama?" Allison asked him.

"Don't start that shit."

"Happy,"

"Just stop. Until I know for sure that it's my kid, I don't want anything to do with it."

Happy sighed. Allison nodded slowly as they went to the elevator. They signed in at the desk. Allison carefully sat down in a chair. Happy was sitting next to her. She looked at him.

"You ok babe," he asked.

"Yeah, just sore," she said.

He nodded. The appointment went well and her ribs were healing very well. She had fading bruises. He had taken Noah to get his stitches out the day before. Ryder still had a few weeks in the cast on his wrist. The boys were back in school though.

They headed back to the house after the appointment. Happy had to go get the kids. He left Allison sitting on the couch and went to the school.

"Hey dad," Ryder climbed into the truck.

"Hey bud, how was school?" Happy asked.

"Hey dad, are you and mom getting back together?"

"Ryder, I am just helping your mama out while she heals. It is hard to take care of you and your siblings when you have broken ribs."

"All right."

He sighed. Happy drove them home wishing he could have told his son that they were working it out.
