After they got up, Happy gave Lowen a phone call. He wanted to get the ball rolling to keep Maia in his care. He was also headed out with Allison to look for a new house. She had all the kids ready to go. They dropped the boys off at school and then headed to house shop with the other three kids.
"What are we looking for?" the relator asked.
"We need something bigger than what we have as our family has expanded by two babies this year," Allison said.
"How many bedrooms do you currently have?"
"We currently have two houses but the one we are in all the time has three bedrooms."
"So at least four bedrooms?"
Allison nodded. Happy was barely listening to what the relator had to say. He was watching his wife. She had Maia in her arms like it was the most natural thing in the world. He had Mason while Emersyn held Allison's hand.
They found a five bedroom home that had everything they were looking for and it was away from the chaos that was their old homes. They still had a pool which was a must for Allison. It had a decent backyard for the kids as well. She was in love with it the moment she saw the master bathroom with the jacuzzi tub as well as a stand alone shower. She was definitely in love and he had to make it happen. They put in an offer on the place before they left.
"Happy, that house is incredible," she gushed over lunch at the diner.
"I know mama," he said.
She was on edge until they received a call a week later that their offer was accepted. He got the club to help them move as soon as they closed on the house. He had sold both of the other houses to club members who had just transferred in. Rane took the one that Happy had been living in. Rat and Brooke bought the other one.
He felt on edge though like he was waiting for the other shoe to drop all the time. He walked into the house where Allison was busy packing. She glanced at him.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
"I don't know," he admitted.
"Hap."
"I don't babe. I feel uneasy right now and I don't know why."
He got his answer right after they moved. Allison was asleep in their bedroom when Rane called to let him know some girl had shown up looking for him and the baby. Maia was already six weeks old and now she wanted to show up. The paperwork had been filed and accepted in the court so he didn't have to worry about that. He just didn't want to deal with her drama. He definitely didn't want to tell Allison what had happened. He was definitely glad that they had moved to get a new start on life.
"Dad," Ryder was in his face when he woke up.
"What?" Happy grunted.
"Me and Noah have school."
Happy groaned and looked at the clock. He got up and drove his boys to school before returning home to really prepare for his day. Allison was in the nursery tending to both Mason and Maia.
"Al," he said.
"What's up babe?" she asked.
"Please be careful today. Especially if you go anywhere,"
"Everything ok?"
"Huh?"
"Is everything ok?"
"Rane called last night. Lyssa showed up over there looking strung out but looking for me and Maia."
Allison nodded. She knew that it took a lot for Happy to have even told her.
"Everything is thru the court already so she can't take her," Allison said.
"This is true but do you honestly think that will stop her?" he asked.
She shook her head. He moved into the room and pulled her into his arms. She sighed heavily.
"I'm sorry I brought us into this mess, babe," he said.
"It's all right Hap. We will be fine no matter what she tries," Allison assured him.
"I will put a prospect on you if you need to go somewhere."
She nodded. She had no plans on going anywhere until the boys needed to be picked up. Happy had to head to the garage. Emersyn was still sleeping when he headed out. He felt bad having to leave his wife to deal if the crazy woman found out where they lived. He knew that Allison could handle it though. She was tough as nails and would do anything to protect her children. That included Maia.
He was in the garage when she showed up on the lot. He attempted to ignore her.
"Where is my baby Happy?" she demanded.
He glanced at her momentarily like she had grown a second head. She must not have been talking to him because no one in their right mind spoke to him that way.
"Happy," Lyssa said again.
"What?" he growled.
"Where is Caily?"
"I don't know anyone named Caily."
"What did you do? Her name was Caily Grace."
"My daughter's name is Maia Jolene."
"Just tell me where she is so I can get her and leave."
"You are free to leave whenever but she stays with me."
"Excuse me? I'm her mother."
"No you aren't. You are just a slut that gave birth."
Gemma had seen it getting heated and decided to step in. Happy wasn't about to explain anything to this girl now that she had pissed him off again.
"Lyssa, he has sole custody of the baby," Gemma stated slowly.
"He can't do that," Lyssa screeched.
"You have been gone for six weeks. He can do that and he has. You left her in that hospital. He didn't. As soon as he found out she was his, he went and got her. He brought her home and is raising her."
"Where is she?"
Lyssa sounded desperate which almost pained Gemma in a way.
"She is with her mother," Gemma said.
Lyssa's eyes widened and she stared at Happy.
"You let that bitch raise my child?" she demanded.
"Watch your mouth about my wife, slut," Happy growled.
"Lyssa, leave them alone. They are happy and healthy. Maia is well taken care of and well loved." Gemma said.
"I want my daughter and I will have her back. He is just a criminal," Lyssa snapped storming off the lot.
Gemma turned to look at Happy. He just nodded and pulled out his phone to call both Lowen and his wife. He needed Lowen fo verify in court that Lyssa couldn't take Maia and to warn Allison that the crazy broad had shown up on the lot.
