Happy walked into the hospital to see the baby. His thoughts were far from the hospital though. He didn't know what the aftermath was back at Allison's place. He knew he would have to check in on them all when he got home. He had no idea how he was going to to all of this without Allison.
He walked into the room that his new daughter lay in. She was asleep in the bassinet. He couldn't help the smile that came to his face as he looked down at her. Tara had spotted him and stepped into the room. He glanced up at her.
"Hey, so we need to get the birth certificate filled out. We actually have Lyssa's part filled out. We need to fill out yours plus her name," she said.
Happy nodded. He had no idea what he wanted to do for her name. He sat there thinking for a while. He stared at her.
"Maia Jolene," he said.
"That's her name?" Tara asked.
He nodded. He filled out the birth certificate and headed home for the night. He had to get a few things set to be able to bring her home. He called Gemma before he left the hospital.
"Of course, we will help. She is a club kid. How is Allison handling all this, baby?" she asked.
"I don't know. Pretty sure we are completely done," he said.
"I'm sorry Hap. I know how much you love her."
"I do and I will handle my shit."
He got off the phone and rode home surprised to find Allison sitting on the porch. He knew all of the kids would be in bed by now. She seemed to be waiting on him.
"What's up?" he asked, as he headed toward his door.
"How's the baby?" she asked.
"She is good. Coming home tomorrow."
"You got everything you need?"
"Of course not. I called Gemma before I left the hospital."
"So the club is stepping up?"
He nodded. She just watched him for a moment. He rubbed the back of his neck as he stood there. She glanced at him.
"Happy, I don't know how this is all gonna go, I really don't," she said.
"I changed her name," he said.
"To what?"
"Maia Jolene."
"That's cute Hap."
"Al, how do I do this?"
"Happy, you have done incredible with our four. I know you can do this with her."
"What do I do if she tries to come take her?"
"File for abandonment and sole custody."
"Will that work?"
She nodded. She could see the fear in his eyes. She was worried about it as well. She didn't want her children to get attached to this baby and this insane broad to come back and rip this child from Happy and the other kids.
"Look, Hap. I've always got your back," she said.
He nodded.
"No matter what happens around here, I still love you and I will still always be here as your friend." she said.
"I need you as my wife," he said, honestly.
"You still have that title wise. I haven't gone anywhere with those papers. I couldn't do it. I definitely don't want to do it out of a place of anger. I don't want to hate you."
"I don't want you to hate me either. I love you so much Al and I know I've hurt you so bad. I don't deserve everything that I have. I don't deserve my kids and I damn sure don't deserve you."
Allison nodded. She stood from her seat and put her arms around his neck to hug him. He wrapped his arms around her waist and buried his face in her neck. She kissed the side of his head.
"I will always love you, Hap." she said.
He nodded. She ran her nails across the back of his head.
"I'm done talking to Damon," she said.
"What happened?" he asked quietly.
"It isn't anything major. He just always asks about the divorce like he has something going on here. I don't want to give false hope of being able to give something that I just can't give him."
He nodded. He looked at her for a moment wondering how things would go if he attempted to kiss her. She chuckled as she could read him like a book. She leaned in and kissed his lips. He sighed, content as his fingers tangled into her hair.
She pulled away breathless. He smiled at her. She giggled slightly.
"I will see you in the morning. You are gonna take the boys to school for me right?" she asked.
He nodded. She turned to head for the door. He grabbed her hand to press one more kiss to her lips. Then he let her go in the house.
She went to bed with Happy on her mind. He sat on his couch wondering how she felt about everything. He loved his family. He would do anything to get them back.
He got up the next morning to get ready to take the boys to school. Noah came running out the front door. He looked at Ryder as his oldest came out the door. Allison came out behind them.
"Morning Hap," she said.
"Morning gorgeous," he replied.
"So I will see you later today?"
"Most likely."
She nodded. He smiled. He kissed her cheek before taking the boys to school. She went back in the house to take care of the other two kids. Happy went to the garage to meet up with Gemma for the car seat to go get Maia.
She had already sent the prospects to set up a room for the little girl. Happy had her contact the attorney for the club to take the advice of his wife. He wanted to make sure that Lyssa couldn't come back and try to take Maia from him. He knew that his wife wouldn't steer him wrong regardless of her feelings toward the situation.
