Happy woke in the dorm room to his phone going off. He quickly answered it when he saw it was his house. He wasn't remotely prepared for what awaited him on the other end of the line. The first thing he heard was screaming.

"Babe," he questioned.

"Daddy," it was Noah on the phone.

"What's going on bud?"

"That lady hurt mama and took Maia."

"What?!"

Happy had to pinch himself to ensure he wasn't having some screwed up nightmare.

"Noah, who is there with you right now?" Happy asked.

"I don't know his name," Noah responded.

That meant the new prospect was there. The boys didn't really know him yet.

"Noah, listen to me. I am going to have to call Uncle Jax." he said.

"Ryder already did. Daddy, come home, please," Noah begged.

"Where is Ryder?"

"He has Emme."

Happy could hear Emersyn screaming about her mom. He tore out of the clubhouse and hit the road as quickly as he could. He didn't even wait for the other guys that had rode with him. All he could think about was getting home to his family. He was so tired of his wife getting hurt because of his actions.

He made it home in record time. He ran inside his house. It was empty and his wife's vehicle was gone. He called Jax to find out where they were.

"St. Thomas, Hap. They just took Allison into surgery," Jax said.

"What the fuck happened?" Happy demanded.

"The crazy bitch broke a window trying to get to Maia. Allison caught her and didn't see the bitch had a gun with her."

"The bitch shot my wife?"

"She managed to slip out with Maia before I got there. The prospect was scared about how much blood Al was losing. The other kids are all right. My mom has them at her house."

Happy hung up and looked around his house. There was a blood trail down his hallway coming from Maia's room.

He already knew the police were involved with the kidnapping. He also knew that Lyssa would attempt to change Maia's name in an effort to conceal her from everyone. He stared at the broken window as if it would repair itself.

After a few moments he headed back out to the hospital. He met up with Jax and Tig in the surgical waiting room. They were talking about what to do to get Maia back. Happy entered the room and they fell silent.

"We get her back and we deal with Lyssa. She has to go, I have had enough," he said.

"You can't be the one to deal with it though. We can't have any reason that it blow back on you. I already put in a call to another charter to have it dealt with. She won't even be found anywhere near Charming if she is found," Jax said quietly.

Happy nodded. He glanced over as Gemma walked in with his kids. He picked up Emersyn. Her little arms went around his neck and held him tightly. He held her close, feeling how scared she was as her little body shook.

"Daddy's here now baby girl," he said.

"I want mommy," she informed him.

"I know you do princess. Mommy is being made better by the doctors right now."

Emersyn nodded her little head against his shoulder. Happy sighed as he looked at his boys. The two older ones were shaken up. It was obvious as they stared back at him. He shifted his daughter to pull them both to him.

He wasn't surprised when Noah began to cry. His second born son was always the sensitive of the boys. He was shocked when he realized that Ryder was crying. He handed Emersyn over to Jax and grabbed his oldest son into his arms. Ryder sobbed against his Kutte.

"Mom will be all right buddy," he said.

"Dad, I failed," Ryder sobbed.

"No, big man, you didn't. You did your job. It's all going to be all right. I promise."

The others in the room watched him with the eight-year-old. Happy held his son closely until he had calmed down. He was coming up on his ninth birthday quickly but obviously was trying to be older than he was.

A doctor stepped into the room. He looked around the room.

"Allison Lowman," he said.

Happy nodded and moved toward the doctor.

"She handled the surgery well. She has been moved to the recovery room now. What all were you told?" the doctor asked.

"I was out of town so I don't know anything at this point," Happy said.

"Allison was hit in the chest and it caused her lung to collapse. She is doing well and we were able to remove the bullet. She should make a full recovery. I do want to keep her until the chest tube is removed."

Happy nodded.

"When can I see her?" he asked.

"As soon as she is settled into a room unless you have someone to watch the children. If you do, I can take you back to her recovery room now," the doctor said.

"Go, Hap. We have the kids," Gemma said.

Happy followed the doctor back to his wife's room. He couldn't believe they were here again. She was hurt again and this time it was his fault. She had rotten luck since he had gotten caught cheating and he vowed to change that as soon as he could. He was going to cherish every single day that he got with his wife. She was what kept him going right along with their kids and he was terrified to think of where he would be if she wasn't in his life.

She hadn't woken yet from the anesthesia so he just sat next to her bed with her hand in his. He kissed the back of her hand. Other then when the nurse had to check on her, they gave him some space.

"I'm so sorry Al. This is all my fault. If I wasn't such a jackass you wouldn't be here right now. If you never forgive me, I couldn't even blame you for it. This is my screw up and I have to deal with it. Baby, I sabotaged myself by meeting her at the clubhouse. I have to be honest, it only happened twice and she got pregnant with Maia. I never intended to screw up so bad. The day you walked in on us was the first time I had ever messed with her. I was fucked up from a run and I know it doesn't excuse it, especially when you are here because of her, but I need you Al, more than you will ever know." he said.

She didn't even stir as he spoke to her.

"Baby, that first day you walked into my life, I knew I couldn't live without you. I settled for being your friend and listening to all the idiots who treated you so wrong. Then my dumbass went and did the same thing. You are my best friend Allison Janae Lowman and I need you to stay with me. I need you, our kids need you, and I will fix this whole Lyssa thing. She won't be an issue for us anymore. I will get Maia back. I swear it," he said.

Allison's eyes flickered open. He stared at her while she gained focus for a moment. She looked over at him.

"It hurts to breathe," she said softly.

"It's going to for a while, babe. She shot you in the chest. She ain't walking away from this anymore," he murmured.

She slightly nodded her head. He gently kissed his wife's forehead. She just watched him. He gently squeezed her hand.

"Hap," she began.

He shook his head. He didn't want to hear anything at the moment. He didn't blame her for Maia being gone right now. He couldn't when she had gotten shot trying to protect the little girl from the crazy broad. He had to admit that it was completely his fault that she was even in their lives.

"Don't do that," she said, groaning a bit in pain.

He hit the call button for the nurse to come in and check on his wife. She rushed into the room and checked everything out. She brought Allison some pain medication and looked into the new room assignment that had just come down.
