Allison woke the next morning to a screaming baby being delivered to her bedroom by her husband. She took Mason from him without a word and began to nurse him.
"Dad, we're hungry," Ryder appeared in the doorway.
"There are pop tarts and cereal in the cabinet," Allison told him.
"Thanks mama."
He ran back down the stairs to the kitchen. Allison continued to ignore the man in front of her. She wasn't in the mood to argue this early in the morning and her head hurt like she had been drinking all night.
"I'm sorry," he said.
She shook her head, not wanting to hear some bullshit apology. She knew he didn't mean it and was only feeling guilty because of her appearance. He could always tell when she had been crying. It was the one thing that got to him.
"Al," he began.
"You need to leave," she told him.
"Allison."
"Just go Happy. You did enough damage last night."
She looked down at her son and made sure he was actually eating. He was definitely hungry. She looked up to see the doorway empty and sighed. He had never called her out of her name before and it hurt. She didn't know how to react to him now. He took the older two boys to school before she was actually out of bed to deal with it.
When she arrived on the lot to work in the office, he was sitting at a picnic table. She ignored him as she walked to the office. Emersyn ran for him as soon as she was free from the car. He pulled her into his lap and kissed the top of her head. She giggled. Allison settled Mason in before beginning to deal with the paperwork in the office.
"Morning Al," Dog said handing her a work order.
"Hey," she replied.
"You ok?"
Allison nodded. She didn't want everyone in her business. It was messed up but it was her mess. She had to deal with it on her own. She looked up as her daughter entered the office with her father by the hand.
"Daddy has to go bye bye," Emersyn told her.
Allison nodded. Happy looked at his son for a moment. He started out of the office.
"Stay safe," Allison said calmly.
Happy stopped and looked at her. He nodded slowly. Then left to do a run with Tig. Allison sighed heavily. She knew things were going to be bad because of the date but she didn't expect that he would hate her so much for it.
Out on the road, Tig could tell something was bothering Happy but he wasn't sure he wanted to pry. They stopped for gas a little while later when Tig decided to ask.
"What's going on man?" he asked.
Happy glanced at him.
"You're more wound than usual so what's up?" Tig asked again.
"She went on a fuckin date," Happy growled.
"Allison did?"
Happy nodded.
"With who? We can get Juice to run the name?" Tig said.
"I already know the asshole," Happy replied. "She and I went to school with his stupid ass."
"Seriously?"
"Yeah, and I may have said some shit to Al just to hurt her."
"I thought you were trying to fix that."
"I am. I just saw red yesterday seeing the two of them together. I mean Al dropped the divorce talk but that don't mean nothin."
"Well let's get this run done and just see what happens. You know that girl loves you."
"I don't know that anymore."
Tig felt for his friend. He remembered how it felt when he and Colleen had been fighting and arguing. He didn't like it and he knew that Happy would become lost and even more dangerous without Allison in his life. It was something the entire club knew.
Back at TM, Gemma had just shown up. She looked at Allison in the office with both kids sleeping. Emersyn was on the couch and Mason was in the pack n play. Allison looked like she had a lot on her mind.
"How was the date?" Gemma asked.
"It was fine. He was a real gentleman, but you were right about Happy and his reaction." Allison said quietly.
"What happened?"
"He showed up as we were leaving the house. He let Neeta go home but took the kids back over to his place. He said they didn't need to see me being a slut."
Gemma could hear the emotion in her voice still. She knew that Happy had never called her anything like that in the many many years that they had known each other.
"So he was definitely pissed off?" she said.
Allison nodded slowly. She didn't know what to do anymore. She couldn't be with him, knowing the shit about the baby. She obviously couldn't be with anyone else because he would talk shit about her. She sighed.
"Like I've known Damon since high school and he was nice enough but I couldn't get Happy out of my head. I kept seeing the look on his face as we left the house all thru dinner and I felt like I was doing something wrong. I knew before the date how much Happy hates Damon and I went anyway. I just don't know what to do anymore. It isn't like I fucked Damon. We just went to dinner, but I feel like I cheated on Hap and I don't like it." she said.
"Because you love him," Gemma replied.
"I do love him. I just never thought he could be so mean to me about a dinner."
"He got his feelings hurt and that isn't a bad thing, baby. He needs to understand how you feel about his current situation. That may have been the only way to get it thru to him."
Allison nodded. She had to go pick up the older two from school. Gemma told her to just leave the two little ones while she did it.
As they made their way back to TM, Allison sat at a red light. She glanced in the mirror at her boys. They were quiet. She pulled into the intersection as it turned green and was hit by a vehicle trying to run the light. Her SUV was hit just right that she took majority of the impact on the driver's side. It knocked her unconscious.
"Mom," Ryder screamed as the car connected with her vehicle.
Once the SUV stopped spinning, Ryder pulled his seatbelt off. He grabbed his mom's phone and dialed 911. Noah looked terrified. Ryder called TM after he got off the phone with the police.
