If someone would've told Hayami that she'd became the manager of a volleyball team she wouldn't have believed them.
And there she was.
Becoming a manager, a teammate, a friend, a sister.
But mostly, an ice skater.
A strong one.
A National Star.
She...

Tokyo, 3rd April, 6:00 a.m.
The alarm Hayami had set the day before starts ringing, making the tired girl growl a bit and turn around. Grabbing her phone to stop All Time Low's Dear Maria, Count Me In she then jumped out of the bed smiling and humming the rest of the song.
That day was her first day in a new high school and she couldn't be more excited. Well, it wasn't the school that excited her but the new city they just moved to: Tokyo. Living in a big city and practicing at the most famous ice-skating gym in entire Japan was her biggest dream and when coach Usagi called her parents screaming that the National Ice Skating Team has their eyes on their precious daughter they almost fainted. Hayami skate since she was 6 and after all the time, the fall, the victories, the national tournament, and her unstoppable passion for that sport, her family was so happy about the news that in just one week they packed all their stuff and waved goodbye to Tamura, her hometown, and smiled at Tokyo. Being the emotional girl she always was Hayami thought that she will surely miss her friends from Tamura, but at that moment all she wanted was to follow her dream.
She changed quickly in her new uniform, doing a little twirl in front of the mirror, checking that everything was perfect. Satisfied she proceeded to pick up her blades and backpack – after checking that too - and rushed to the kitchen. Her mom had already left for work, leaving on the table a bowl full of fruits and granola, a cup of coffee "to go" and two good-looking bentos with sticky notes on them. She smiled and took the bento with her name on the note (along with a little heart and a smiling face) and placed it carefully on the top of the other pair of shoes – of course, she needed them to walk inside the school, 'cause blades were probably prohibited -, closing the backpack after that. Just when she was about to take the first bite of her breakfast, her dad's loud alarm started to play at maximum volume. Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy by Queen, such a nice soundtrack for this morning, she thought, now used to her dad's habit of leaving the song on instead of stopping it and getting ready in silence. And every day the song's alarm changed in different 80' ones.
"Set my alarm, turn on my charm", she heard her dad sing as he walked into the kitchen, "that's because I'm a good old-fashioned lover boy!", they sang the last sentence together and smiled at each other. Her dad looked down at his bento with sparkling eyes and grabbed the coffee cup, drinking a quick sip. He stepped closer to Hayami, checking the time on the microwave's little screen. Thinking he would also kiss her head – like he always does in the morning - she closed her eyes but instead of that he picked the last slice of apple and laughed, running at the entrance to put his shoes on.
"What a thief", she whispered at him, washing her bowl. He stuck his head in the kitchen one last time and looked down at his daughter's blades, frowning a bit.
"It's the first day in a new school and in a new town, are you sure you'll be fine on the blades? I can take you to school, you know that, right?", unfortunately while saying this he checked the clock one more time and Hayami notice it. She knew he was already late. She chuckled and made her way to the bathroom to wash her teeth.
