If someone would've told Hayami that she'd became the manager of a volleyball team she wouldn't have believed them.
And there she was.
Becoming a manager, a teammate, a friend, a sister.
But mostly, an ice skater.
A strong one.
A National Star.
She...

That day, the weather was perfect for a quiet picnic, like the young duo decided to do, but a nosy ass and some loud mouths were able to interrupt their study date only after one hour and just a subject in.
"So, look who's here without us!"
"Yeah! Look at you!"
"My God...", Kema had to force himself to remain calm, "...how did you...?"
"Guys! You're here too?!", her excitement after Kuroo and Yaku came running to them was so visible that she seemed to emit little sparkles all over her persona.
Kenma's expression dropped, and the flowers' crown she put on his head slightly slipped, obscuring his vision for a second.
"Hello, pretty girl!", Yaku kneeled in front of her, putting a strand of fallen hair behind her ear, untangling it from her loop earring.
She looked extra cute that day with her long white skirt on, a light blue blouse cut above her belly button, and her long hair twisted with daisies, and Kuroo didn't fail to let her know, taking a seat beside Kenma, dropping on his elbow.
"My, my, you really did a great job with this outfit today," he snatched one of their grapes and tossed it in his mouth, "trying to impress someone?"
"Actually, yeah," she copied his position, her head closer to Kenma's legs, her eyes looking up, searching for his, "did it work?"
When he saw her walking to him that morning, he felt his breath stopping for a second.
He always thought Hayami was pretty but seeing her outside her school uniform was something he wasn't used to yet. He didn't put much effort into clothes, going with a white baggy shirt with his favorite anime character on the back of it, dark jorts, long azure socks, and his usual sneakers on, while she was looking so damn cute with all her accessories and stuff matching each other.
Also, the basket she was carrying and the towel they were on recalled her favorite colors.
Kenma wasn't able to put one word after the other for the first ten minutes, realizing right after how stupid he must've sounded, trying to remember himself that she was just Hayami, his friend and manager, his classmate who was helping him with homework.
The picnic was just a nice gesture his mother suggested to thank her for the patience and kindness she showed him during those weeks. Nothing more. The woman helped him make some cookies and sweet sandwiches, while Hayami was in charge of fruits and salty food.
With his dad, she prepared onigiris, while her mom proceeded to cut the apples and peaches, shaping everything like stars, a lovely habit she had since Hayami was a kid.
So, after Kenma's silent moment, when the delicious smell of food hit their nose, they both came back to normal, eating, making fun of kids falling in the park, and talking about projects and the upcoming training camp, until the time for study came, making him complain and making funny faces while she was seriously trying to teach him something.
