"That one sucked."
"Yeah, noticed, Mura!"
"I was just saying," she pointed her index at the captain, "you asked me."
"I'm starting to regret this."
"What?"
"Your manager's job."
"Too late, big boy," she twisted the ball in her hands, signaling Lev she was ready to throw it, "you okay, Lev?"
"Yes, ma'am!"
"Coming!", she launched the ball in the air, hitting it with a simple serve that was fine to help Lev train with his horrible receives.
He went too forward, catching the ball with his nose instead of his wrists.
Kuroo sighed, "That one sucked."
Hayami cringed, "I know."
Yaku's patience was under his feet and didn't waste time before hitting Lev right behind the knees, making him fall, "YOU MUST PRACTICE MORE ON RECEIVES! HOW COULD THE GAME GO ON IF YOU CAN'T KEEP THE BALL IN THE AIR?"
"Yaku has a valid point, Lev!", Hayami stepped out of the court, reaching the boy, "I know how much you like to spike, and your height is helping with blocks, but still, Yaku can't fight this battle alone! He must have some backups who know how to keep the ball up or the match will be very short."
"Like this lady here", Kuroo's hand went on Hayami's hair, ruffling it.
"You're the biggest piece of..."
"Kuroo, let her live in peace, jeez", Kai passed behind them, grabbing the captain by his jersey to pull him away from her.
"You're so wise, Yukimura!", Inuoka was impressed by her words, feeling them deep in his bones.
She was completely right. And she wasn't even a player.
So smart, he thought, taking a water break.
"But receiving is sooo hard, Yumikura!", Lev groaned, "You should try it!"
"I should...what?"
"That could be lethal," Fukunaga blinked and tilted his head, "but funny."
"Lethal?!"
"I was joking."
"Actually," Kuroo viciously grinned, "the ball could bounce straight into your face and break your nose, or your wrist can snap, or you can accidentally hit someone, breaking bones, y'know, or a window, or the net...", he got closer to her, intimidating the manager with his heigh, "...lethal."
Kenma saw it coming the moment Kuroo tried to scare her, the determination sparkling in her eyes.
"Just serve the damn ball!", she snatched it from Lev's hands, passing it to the captain.

FanficIf someone would've told Hayami that she'd became the manager of a volleyball team she wouldn't have believed them. And there she was. Becoming a manager, a teammate, a friend, a sister. But mostly, an ice skater. A strong one. A National Star. She...
