When the first day of camp ended, Hayami was one of the last to leave the gym, too occupied writing down the last notes for the boys.

"Yukimura! You coming too? It's almost dinner time!", Shoyo ran up to her after setting down their net, crunching down to match her height on the bench.

The girl nodded, closing her notebook and fixing a strand of hair behind her ear, "Sure hon, I just finished!", she stood, picking up her bag, "Where's Kenma? Did he already leave with Kuroo?"

Shoyo shook his head, "He's right there! I think he's waiting for you."

Hayami saw the setter talking with Inuoka, sending her some glances occasionally, impatiently waiting for her.

Grabbing Shoyo's hand, she dragged the kid towards her friends, his cheeks all red, flustered.

"Done! We can leave now," she dropped Shoyo's hand to slide beside Inuoka, hugging his hips while he let his arm rest on her shoulders, walking in front of the other duo, "your quick attack looked insane, Shoyo!", she complimented him, pinching her friend.

They closed the gym's door behind them and started walking under the starry night.

"Yeah, but nothing's changed...", Shoyo was starting to understand that using the same move over and over couldn't be the right solution to win their matches.

Not when everyone already knew how it worked.

"Then, you must surprise us the next time," she briefly turned her face, winking at the ginger, "can't stop entertaining us, can you?"

Those words shook something inside his stomach, all the organs vibrated in a wave of excitement.

He tried to suppress it by changing the topic, "Oh! Who's that new middle blocker? The last time he didn't play!"

Kenma sighed, "Ah, that's Lev Haiba. He's a rookie. Half-Japanese, half-Russian."

"HALF...RUSSIAN?! So cool! What's his first name again?", Shoyo tried to pronounce Lev's name right but got all the letters wrong for some reason.

"The 'v' is soft, like an 'f'," Kenma tried to help him, "it means something in Russian, 'tiger', maybe."

"It means 'lion'!", Hayami corrected him, moving her index left and right.

"But...why he didn't play during our first practice game?", Shoyo kept pushing it.

"He just started volleyball in high school, so, still a complete newbie on the golden week," Inuoka and Hayami shared a look, happy Kenma was finally making a friend on his own, "when we went playing with you guys, we only used the players on the active roster."

"He just started this year?!", Shoyo was shocked.

"Yeah, right now he's playing almost entirely on sheer athletic skills, and his height..."
