"How's your face?"
"I don't know, how it is?"
"Pretty nice to look at."
"Ugly as fuck."
"You're wonderful in your own way."
Hayami sighed at the three third-year boys, smiling at Kai and Kuroo and flipping off Yaku.
"Thank you, boys," she pointed at the libero, "you're really starting to get on my nerves."
But he just smiled, knowing he had some privileges the others couldn't have with her, "Damn, I'm close to my goal then," picking up his bag, he tossed her the used jersey, quickly jogging to her, sliding an arm around her waist, "let's go, I'll help in the kitchen too tonight. No additional practice, so Levi can go playing with someone else."
The young boy lowered his head in shame, while the captain hit him with his towel.
"Liar."
Hayami's right arm circled Yaku's shoulders. At the same time, her eyes never left the boys behind them, "Alright, see you later then!", she wiggled her fingers, the boys reciprocating her signature gesture, some sending her kisses, to which she replied, sending back thousands.
"Hayami!", Shoyo battled his eyes, not lifting from the floor, "Don't you practice with us tonight?"
Yaku didn't want to let her go, "Maybe I'll pass by later, darling."
"Alright..."
Bokuto was sad too, "But...we're a team."
Akaashi patted his back, pulling him away, "Let's go, Hayami can't always be with us. She has a life too and other friends."
"I'll save the biggest slice of cake for both of you!", she pointed at Bokuto and Shoyo, winking, "If you deserve it after the extra practice, I mean!"
They gave her a military salute, nodding.
"Yes, ma'am!"
Yaku kept dragging her, both trying to step on the other feet, laughing and cussing when one succeeded.
"Go and shower before coming to the kitchen, you stink!", Hayami sniffed the boy, assuming a disgusted expression.
Yaku pinched her, squeezing harder her waist and lifting the girl just for a second, "How dare you! I'm older, jeez. Pay respect."
"Blah blah blah," she stuck out her tongue, "I'll go shower too and we'll meet in the hall in 20."
"Bet you can't do it in 15."
"Damn," her face got closer to his, "in 10."
Yaku could only look at her with an emotional cocktail, made of love, admiration, and kindness; since Hayami stepped into his life, he knew he had gained a sister. Not by blood, sure, but their souls were connected in ways no one else could explain.
