"Starting tonight, I'm not going to practice with you anymore."
Shoyo and Hayami both turned their head toward Kageyama.
"Why not?!", the boy seemed ready for another fight.
"If I'm still screwing up the sets how's that supposed to be worthwhile practice for you?"
The duo's jaws fell on the ground, broke the pavement, and reached the Earth's center, "Oh, Tobio...", Hayami was tearing up watching the proud boy finally growing up.
"Wow! You're actually being nice to me! It's actually kind of freaky!" Shoyo, on the other hand, was just being himself, excited for that new outcome. "But hurry up and get that droppy set ready, 'kay? I wanna hit it!"
Kageyama's forehead popped a vein, "That's why I just said I was gonna practice it, you runt!", he wanted to throw Hinata into outer space for his lack of intelligence.
Hayami sighed, shaking her head at their bickering.
"And by the way, who's that 'grandad' coach Ukai was talking about?", Kageyama was referring to a conversation Hayami wasn't aware of.
"The old head coach Ukai", Shoyo's rolled out those words without expecting Kageyama to grab his collar and shake him from head to toe.
"You sneaky little scrub! You got training from the old head coach Ukai all by yourself?!"
"Hey! Coach took me to see him! It's not like I meant to sneak out there without you!"
Despite their fights, just around the corner, was something between those two that brought a smile to Hayami's face; while Kegayama was coming terms to with not being the only player on the court, Shoyo was starting to discover how powerful he could be, alone or not.
"I really hope I can see that set work sometime soon", Hayami confessed, her eyes shimmering.
The boys snapped their heads in her direction.
"Of course, it'll work!", Tobio.
"We'll make it work!", Shoyo.
After that, they took a different path.
"Don't talk over me!"
"You don't talk over me!"
Seems like the freak twins are back, she thought, seeing Yachi making her entrance into the gym.
"Here I am!", she waved at the group, "What's happening?", she was afraid another brutal fight between the duo happened, but Hayami looked serene.
"Can you help Tobio with his toss?", she asked her, directing her toward the boy, "I'll help Shoyo with his spikes."
Yachi blinked a few times, unsure, "Yeah, of course!"
Winking at her, she jogged to Shoyo, snatching one of his arms, "Let's go, little one! You work with me tonight!"
