Hayami's expression was enough to make Kenma stop in his tracks, both staring at the other plate.

"You're not eating much", that was the start of a cowboys match, minus the guns.

"Same goes for you", Kenma didn't want to give up.

"Well, it's not me who's going to play for hours in a game where you run, jump and toss around", she shot her bullet.

Kenma's nose scrunched up, "I won't run and neither jump."

"You must if you lose", she remembered him their penitence.

"Do you think we'll lose some games?", his loader was getting empty.

"Yes," she pointed at Fukurodani's boys with her index, "those guys will beat us at least once."

She was right.

He knew she was right.

And she knew that too.

"Jesus...", Kenma sighed, wanting to slam his face on the wall, "...if I eat more, you're eating the same as me. Fair play."

"That's not what 'fair play' means", she rolled her eyes, pushing Kenma with her free hand, returning to the table where she and the other managers placed all the food.

"So?", he asked her.

Hayami thought about it, "Alright, what about that omelet, a bowl of yogurt and fruits, orange juice, and...maybe we add some chocolate chips to the bowl?"

"One of those muffins too. What's inside?", the boy asked, curious.

"Blueberries, my receipt", she said, proud of her work, putting on their plates one each.

Kenma filled his with their eggs and let her prepare the yogurt mix, picking up also forks and spoons.

"Hey, want some tea?"

He shook his head, "I'm more of a coffee person."

She smirked, "I had a feeling", she confessed, winking and following the boy to the rest of the Nekoma's team, taking seats near each other.

Hayami wanted to go back to the drink section, but Kuroo surprised the duo, sliding a cup of black coffee and green tea toward them, smiling.

"For you, kitties," he was in front of them, his plate filled double theirs, "I'm glad you're both eating something more than a damn apple."

"Thank you, captain," Hayami closed her fingers around the cup, blowing him a kiss, "and, thanks for last night, I was so tired I don't even remember when I fell asleep!"

Kuroo blew her back a kiss too, "No problem, boss."

Kenma observed the interaction, tapping his fingers on his knees, asking himself why Kuroo wasn't doing more to charm Hayami. He had everything to make a girl fall in love: he was good-looking, an old-style gentleman, a very smart guy, supportive, and goodhearted. But still, he was convinced that he, his shy, unapproachable best friend, had a crush on the girl he liked.
