In the end, Karasuno lost by just two points against Fukurodani; despite Bokuto's mood swings, he was soon back in the game when his team needed him more.
The crows might have lost, but they showed everybody in the gym that the camp was their biggest opportunity, and they surely didn't waste it.
Hayami couldn't be prouder of those boys, and when Shoyo went sitting down beside her for a little break, she wrapped one arm around his chubby cheeks, squishing the boy's face against hers, covering him in little kisses: the little boy inside him was healing kiss after kiss.
"That was such a good game, y'know?", she complimented, "You guys made some impressive progress! And the synchro attack?! What the hell! Amazing!"
Shoyo took Hayami's free hand, squeezing it, leaning more on her, and making her giggle at his cuteness, "Thank you, Yami. I had so much fun."
"I can see you in your face, love, and lemme tell you one more secret," her tone lowered and Shoyo scooped even closer, so now she had both her arms around his neck, her nose practically crushed on his forehead, "Kenma told us you're always full of surprises, so, keep doing it. Keep being interesting. And your guys' match at Nationals, would go down in the history of crows and cats."
"Do you think we'll reach Nationals?" was a serious doubt that tortured Shoyo's mind since they lost against Aoba Johsai.
Hayami's eyes darkened, her face had never been more somber, "Do you think you will?"
Shoyo analyzed Hayami's gaze, knowing what kind of answer she expected from him, "Yes. We will."
"Great," she was soon back to her usual self, ruffling his already messy hair, "boy, you can go so far if you keep doing what you're doing!"
"I wanna go as far as I can!"
Hayami could see sparkles all around the boy, that slowly started moving around Hayami too, capturing them and combining them under their dreams' polar star.
"That's the spirit!", they hugged tightly, Ukai watching them from afar, understanding just in that moment how much that girl came in the right time of Hinata's life.
He needed her ambitious side, Bokuto's spirit, Nekoma's push into doing better, a great mix combined together that just lighted up once again Shoyo's fuse.
And maybe, he also was looking for an older role model to follow.
He was glad he chose them. They were good kids.
"Think your team is waiting for you", Hayami saw that Karasuno was ready to go back into the games, but Shoyo wasn't ready to let go of her, feeling those were the last moments he would live so close to Hayami.
After the camp, their path must've gone in different ways, and the boy's heart was feeling heavier moment after moment.
Hayami sensed something was wrong, "We can hang out later, right?", she took his face in her hands, smiling kindly at him, "We still have time to be together."
