If someone would've told Hayami that she'd became the manager of a volleyball team she wouldn't have believed them.
And there she was.
Becoming a manager, a teammate, a friend, a sister.
But mostly, an ice skater.
A strong one.
A National Star.

Nekoma High, 4th April
"Good morning, Kenma!", Hayami sat down on the chair beside Kenma's, just like she did the day before.
He hummed a reply, not lifting his eyes up the phone's screen, too focused on the game to actually converse with her.
She kindly smiled, shaking her head, "You're really the most difficult boss to understand and beat."
Kenma pretended not to hear that, keeping his fingers tapping on the players. She could think whatever she wanted, he didn't care.
Did he?
"Yukimura, let him alone, he's not so friendly anyway", one of their classmates tapped on her shoulder, sending a pity look towards Kenma.
The boy heard Kazuo loud and clear, hiding more his face behind his hair and arching his back till the point he was practically under the desk. He didn't care most of the time but that comment spat in front of Hayami was terribly humiliating.
Now she won't be our manager for sure, she's too cool to hang out with us. Well, mostly with me.
I'm the problem.
"Yeah, Kazu is right! What about you eat lunch with us today? We can introduce you to really cool people!", another voice added.
Alright, Kenma was at his limit, deeply ashamed to be the weird one of the volleyball team and also of the class. He was the one bringing down all his friends' popularity for sure and he didn't feel good about it.
He sighed, winning the game and shutting down his phone.
"Thanks for the offer but I'm more comfortable while hanging out with kind people," Hayami replied with a firm tone, "and Kenma is friendly," she turned her head towards him, "but he is only with the right people."
That was time for the bullies to feel ashamed of their words and actions, leaving Hayami smiling at the timid boy and Kenma feeling relieved. He wanted to say he appreciated what she did for him, to thank her, but no words came out his mouth, just a pathetic sigh.
Kazuo let out a snarl, "You sure can talk might for being the newcomer, Yukimura," he lowered his head, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend your friend."
Hayami opened her textbook, waiting for the teacher, "Being kind doesn't require any effort, y'know?"
Some of the girls giggled, delighted to have someone who could stand up against Kazuo and his stupid minions.
