Antagonist's Tale XXXII: Law school

Anael Hathen Hilario

No one could ever be more of a silent creature than him. I'm sure of it.

And it's not just because he isn't someone who talks a lot like Cael and me. Everything about him is just cold and . . . silent.

He wears dark and quiet clothes, unlike my white and bright ones. His features are dark and brooding, in contrast with my bright and friendly image. He lives in a small and tight apartment, I live at a manor of lavishness and loud extravagant.

While I'm known as the bright one, he's the confined and nonchalant man. The silent.

There are a few things that I learned about those two men.

First, Cael is insanely religious. Isang bagay na hindi ko inaasahan.

He has the notorious fuck boy reputation.

He's playful, carefree, talkative and has an invisible You-Only-Live-Once banner on his forehead.

Imagine how my brows almost raised when I heard him state out straight up verse of the Bible while studying.

"Hira," he told me one day. "Had you ever felt like you're too blessed?"

I almost scoffed.

"Oo naman," pagsang-ayon ko. Sobra-sobrang pinagpala ako sa buhay e'. "Masyadong mabait sa akin ang diyos."

Ngumiti si Cael sa akin. "Grabe, galing Niya 'no?"

Huh?

"Sobra." Tumango-tango ako.

"It's God's grace that I'm standing right now, alive and well."

I want to go back reading.

Pinagpatuloy ni Cael ang kaniyang mga linayahan.

All our profs are either agnostic or atheist.

He's very outspoken about his faith.

I wonder what would change once he get his first case? What would happen once he heard the story of his client? A client who actually committed the crime?

Would he still believe in god? Would he still think that there's goodness in humanity once he hears the crimes of the psychopath, the murderers, the rapists?

Another thing that I learned is that Hathen has a high tier tongue for being sarcastic.

Him being quiet or allowing him talk. Because when he talk you'll either received his sharp tongue or his sassy sarcasm.

Hathen is just. . . strange.

He hates the color white, he likes things in place and way too clean, he's quiet and sarcastic, he likes talking in numbers, I noticed that he never look in the mirror, he only use email, he hates dark & confide places, and he debates with our profs.
