"JAMES!"

The Gryffindor Common room fell silent as conversations between students drifted off into quiet and small goodbyes stopped in their tracks as yelling came from the bottom of the stairs that led up towards the boys dormitories. Stood there, was Elladora Hargreeves with her hair tied back in a bun at the back of her head and a black, casual but fancy dress on her body.

The students of Gryffindor had become accustomed to Elladora being in the their common room most of the time despite her being a Slytherin. None of them really minded and if they did they wouldn't dare say anything, especially after learning how protective the most well-respected members of their house were over her. They see her all the time, whether she just be reading with Remus, sleeping with her feet resting on Peter or just engaged in casual banter with James or Sirius.

But they had never seen her shout like she was doing right then.

"YOU MUST MAKE HASTE!" She yelled up the stairs to the boys dormitory, aggressively tugging at the skirt of the dress she was wearing and hoping it didn't rip due to her nervous fiddling.

"Why's she speaking all fancy?" Peter asked Remus and Sirius as they stared at their friend waiting anxiously at the bottom of the stairs. They were all sat around the sofa in front of the fireplace, trunks in front of them as they waited for the fifth member of their group.

"It's just her inner pure-blood." Sirius answered as the people in the common room slowly bled back into their conversations.

"What do you mean?" Remus queried, willing the boy to elaborate further into the supposed pure-blood language.

"Well, you know how your muggle world is a different 'time period' to our world." Sirius said, using quote marks for 'time period' which had Remus and Peter exchange glances though they nodded at him nonetheless. "Basically the language is like that too. Back at home, they speak all posh like and Elladora spoke like that to. But then obviously she got to know us and became more comfortable speaking like a normal human being instead of a snooty bastard."

"Yeah, but why is she speaking like that now?" Peter asked, furrowing his eyebrows.

"She goes back to it when she's feeling a negative emotion, like anger, stress or anxiety." He explained and they nodded slowly. "Like the other week, we went to Flourish and Blotts because I accidentally spilt tea over her book, you know how angry she gets about that sort of stuff, and we couldn't find the book so she claimed that she was going to 'cock up my toes'."

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"I was going to kill him." Elladora said from beside Peter and he gave a frightened yell as he turned around to face her with his hand over his heart. "To 'cock up one's toes' is to die."
