The Next Day
You walk into the dojo the next morning, your head hung low. You anticipate a lecture from Spinter about taking risks after what happened the previous night.
"Sit down Y/N." Splinter says.
You sit down in front of him.
"I'm so sorry Master Splinter" You apologise "I... I was just done with waiting to go up top. I thought that it had been long enough. I thought Shredder would think I died in the fire and I would be able to get back before anyone missed me."
"Y/N look at me." Splinter says.
You look up to see a sad but understanding face.
"I know it must be hard to stay down here. April had the same trouble when she was being hunted by the kraang." Master Splinter says. "My sons also had trouble with the rule as they got older. But that is all in the past. Now all we can do is prepare for the future."
"How do I do that?" You ask.
"By listening to me and my sons as we train you in the ways of the ninja." Splinter says. It took a few seconds for it to sink in.
"Me train?" You say. "I don't know if I can do it."
"You can if you put your mind to it." Splinter says. "You did out maneuver the foot clan for longer than most could without any training."
"Ok. I'll do my best." You say
"That is all I can ask." Splinter says. "We will start after lunch."
You run to the kitchen.
"How'd it go Y/N?" Mikey asks.
"Good." You smile. "Master Splinter wants me to train!"
"Great!" Leo says. "When do you start?"
"After lunch." You say. "So um what is training like?"
"Fun and hard." Leo says. "But we can't tell you exactly what it's like."
"Why?" You ask.
"Because, one we started years ago and don't remember what our first lessons were like." Donnie says. "And aside from the core of it, we all train slightly differently because of our weapons."
"Don't get your hopes too high." Raph says.
"For what?" You ask.
"Getting a weapon." Raph says. "It took April months to convince sprinter to let her start with
one."
"Oh well." You say. "I can wait. Just as long as I get one at some point and can go out with you guys."
"You'll get to that point soon." Mikey says. "But until then wanna play a video game?"
"Sure." You smile.
