For the next few minutes your head goes back and forth from phone to phone. You'd look at a section of text and then use Leo's phone as a scratch pad to decode it. Within ten minutes you have the rest of the letter before you.

"What's it say, what's it say?!" Mikey asks

"Give her a minute!" Leo says, holding his brother back from reading over your shoulder

You shoot Leo a grateful smile. He knew that you would want to read it in your own time and preferably by yourself, but that wasn't a real option right now. 

"You three go check out the next room" Leo says "I'll stay here with Y/N"

"But I wanna know what the code said!" Mikey protests

"Come one Mikey" Raph says, grabbing his brother by the arm. Raph had picked up on what Leo was trying to do even if he realized it or not. The hot headed turtle had a sneaking suspicion that his brother had a little crush on you. 

You guess it was an option now. The rest of the letter was nothing you could have ever guessed. You know understood why it was coded twice. Heck, it possibly should have been coded three or four times. 

"You ok Y/N?" Leo asks, seeing the look on your face 

"My parents were in the CIA" You say

"What?" Leo says "Really?" 

"Yeah" You say "Everything is in here. Even the story of how they met. They never did tell me the whole thing, they would just tell me that I wasn't ready to hear all the details. I stopped asking as I got older."

"Wow, how did they manage their jobs and having you?" Leo asks

"I have no clue" You admit "Sure, they were gone more as I got older and could take care of myself, but they were always there for me while I was little"

"From what you've told me, there were very active in your life" Leo says "They must have had amazing time management" 

"I guess so" You say "They listed a couple of people I could talk to if I wanted to know more about them"

"Are you going to reach out to them?" Leo asks 

"We'll see" You say "I'd like to know more about what they did, but there's no way that they'd be able to tell me that much. It's the CIA after all."

"Do you mind me asking how they met?" Leo asks 

"They met in training" You say "They ended up on the same team and things went from there. Nothing exciting”

"I wouldn't say that" Leo says "The basics may sound simple, but I bet that dating in the CIA would be exciting"

"True" You say "I guess I'll look into talking to these people when this is over. They may be able to tell me more about when they were young."

"I bet knowing more about them feels good" Leo smiles 

"Yeah, it does" You say "I guess we should go catch up with the others"

"They can wait a bit longer if you're not ready yet" Leo says "You know Mikey is going to hit you with a ton of questions."

"I'm good" You smile "I'm just happy to know that I still have some connections to them"

"If you say so" Leo says, standing up and offering you his hand to stand up.

You smile and take it, letting him help you to your feet.

Upon finding the others, Mikey asks you about the letter again, but you avoid talking through it all by promising that you’d let him read some of it later when everyone was back to the lair. 

“Shall we continue up?” Leo asks. “We can either go up and keep looking or go down and chill until morning.”

“And do nothing for the rest of the night? You say getting up. "I want to know what happened here"

“Ok. Y/n, Raph and Mikey you guys search the rooms on the right and Donnie and I will do the rooms on the left.” Leo says. “We can cover more ground that way. Be careful and try not to make any more holes in the floor.” 

You roll your eyes at the remark and head to the next room with Raph and Mikey in tow.

You walk into the next the next room unsure of what to look for. You spot a filing cabinet under a large wooden desk. 

“Well this is as good a place as any to start.” You think pulling open a desk drawer. 

You come across nothing of interest in the desk, so you move onto the filing cabinet. 

“Find anything?” A voice asks causing you to jump.

 “Raph!! Don’t do that! ” You say, trying to slow you heart down. 

“Do what?” Raph says trying to hide a smile.

“You know exactly what you did!” You say punching him in the shoulder. “You nearly gave me a heart attack.”

“Oh I just thought that you might want to take a look at these files.” You say handing him the stack that had accumulated on the desk “ I don’t understand them but some of that paper looks new.” 

“Hmmm.” Donnie says skimming the files you handed him.

“Don’t start the Hmmm” Raph groans “ We'll be here for hours otherwise.”

“Why don’t you go find Mikey then?” You say. “ I think he wandered into the next room.”

“Always wandering off and getting into trouble.” Raph grumbles as he leaves in  search of Mikey.

“Where were these?” Donnie asks.

“In the file cabinet.” You say pointing to the cream colored, two drawer cabinet beneath the desk.
