The five of you hug the perimeter of the yard. None of you wanted to be seen or to see that well again. Leo gives a signal and you all drop as low as you can into the tall grass. Three men walk into the house, each dragging a large cooler behind them. A few moments later, Leo signals the all clear and you move forwards.
"I've got a bad feeling about this" You mutter
"I do too" Leo says "But I also have a feeling that we should take a look anyway"
Once you make it inside the house, each of you picks a spot to hide and wait for someone else to show up. With your phone on vibrate, you silently wait behind a high backed chair. Your spot has a direct view of the stairs going to the second floor. Your phone buzzes with a text from Donnie.
People going into a cellar. Meet at the back door.
The five of you congregate in the small foyer. Donnie points to a small door just outside the back one which you had previously thought to be a coat closet.
"One person would barely fit in there" Raph whispers
Donnie sighs and slowly opens the door. The hinges squeak in protest. Freezing, you all wait for someone to come check out the noise. No one shows, but none of you let your guard down. The small door turns out to be hiding a long staircase. A dim light shines from the room below. You can hear voices and soft sounds of machinery. You weigh your options. Waiting for someone to come up may take a while and you don't feel like waiting anymore. On the other hand, going down would get you answers faster, but you would be taking a huge risk if someone came up said stairs. The men you had encountered earlier had guns, so it was a good chance that the ones down there did as well. The five of you back off and back into a room where you could talk without being heard.
"What do you think D?" Leo asks "Do you think we can make it down there before anyone comes up and without being seen?"
"It depends on how the stairs meet with the room" Donnie says "If they go straight in, we'd have no immediate cover and we'd be screwed. But if there is a door at the bottom we have a chance"
"Ok team, here's what we're going to do" Leo says "Raph and I are going to check it out. Up and down fast as possible. If we have cover, we'll all go down and find out what's going on. And if not, we leave it alone and call in a tip to the police."
"We should do that either way" You say
Raph and Leo dart down the stairs, with the rest of you stationed close by just in case. Two minutes pass and Leo sends a text to Donnie saying it was safe to come down. There was a door at the bottom and some large crates to hide behind right next to it. Donnie heads down first, you wait about thirty seconds and then follow. Another thirty seconds and Mikey follows you. You creep over and join Donnie in his hiding spot behind a pile of crates
"What's going on?" You whisper
"Not fully sure yet" Donnie says "Most of the people here walked into the small room to your left just before you got here"
"They definitely bad guys" Raph interjects from somewhere on your right
You look over and see Raph, Leo and Mikey hiding behind another wall of crates.
"What do we do?" You ask "And has anyone determined what on earth is going on down here?"
"Not a clue" Mikey shrugs
"Nothing good" Leo says
"Something to do with large shipments of something" Donnie says
You peek around the side of your crate and try to glean any information that would tell you what was going on. Most of the voices were coming from the small room that Donnie had pointed out, but there were three guys working at a small table. They appeared to be filling small bags with a fine white powder. They look no older than 20, but they all scream gang. One of them had their back to you and the patch on the back of their jacket caught your eye. There was something about it, but you couldn't put your finger on it.
