---------------George's POV

"-No! You don't understand. I don't want to marry for personal gain! If I'm going to marry anyone it'll be for love! Why don't you get that?!"

"George, listen. You need to marry rich to produce an heir to the throne!"

"Why do I need to marry rich just for an heir?! If I want to marry anyone, it'll be for love!" I shouted back before standing up from the table and walking to my room. I was fed up with it. For the longest time, my parents had been trying to get me to marry rich to carry on the royal bloodline. What I didn't understand was why it has to be someone of noble or royal birth. Shouldn't I just be allowed to marry for love?

----------Your POV

It was just another day. Working with my mother at the village shoe shop. It was a great life. Just me and her and I was content with it. However, one fateful day changed my whole life. My mother had been invited to the castle due to being one of the top shoemakers in the country and I, because my mother didn't want to leave me alone for so long, brought me with her. I was excited, to say the least.

"Come on, (Y/n)! We're going to be late otherwise."

"Coming!" I dashed downstairs and met my mother, "Ready!" She smiled at me and we walked out the door, making our way to the castle.

----------------

A while later we arrived and I hid behind my mother, nervous. My mother noticed this and chuckled, "What's wrong (Y/n)? There's no need to be nervous. Come on, Sweetie." I nodded, "Okay, I'm ready."

We were brought into the castle and brought into a room, that I guessed was the throne room. Wow, this is massive! I'd love to live in a place like this.

I was snapped out of my daze by my mother, "You okay, (Y/n)? You're staring into space."

"I'm fine. Just looking around. This is a massive castle."

"It is. Rather large in fact. Sometimes even I can't find my way around."

I squeaked and turned around to see the prince, "Your Majesty!" I squeaked out, curtseying, my mother doing the same. He just chuckled, "No need for that. I'm not the king yet."

"But you're still royalty. It's just courtesy." He chuckled again and walked up to me, taking my hand and kissing it. This made my face flare up red and my mother chuckled, "Are you going to be okay here, (Y/n), while I do what we came here to do?"

Before I could reply, the prince spoke up again, "Of course. She'll be safe with me." I smiled slightly and my mother walked off with one of the guards to do what we'd come here to do. Before I could say anything, I was pulled off somewhere, "I want to show you something. Also, you can just call me George. No need for the title."

"O-Okay," I smiled and followed him. Is love at first sight real? No! Snap out of this, (Y/n)! There's no way he'd feel the same and there's no way he'd want to marry a commoner like me anyway.

---------------George's POV (A few weeks later)

I can't get her out of my head. She's beautiful. But there's no way Mother and Father would ever let me marry her. These were the thoughts that were going through my head ever since that day.  I just couldn't get (Y/n) out of my head. I eventually came to a conclusion: I loved her. However, there was still a problem, there was no way that my parents would ever let me marry her. I may as well try though, right? I mean, what's the worst they'll say?  I took a deep breath and decided I'd tell them at dinner time

------

"-So, George, picked a suitor yet?"

"I actually wanted to talk to you about that, Mother. I have technically-"

"That's great, George! Which one is it? I'll need to send a letter to their parents straight away!"

I took a deep breath, "But she's not one of the suitors."

"What? What do you mean?"

Again, I took a deep breath, "So, say theoretically, I happen to fall in love with someone of not noble birth, what would  you say?" I asked slightly tense and nervous.

"George, you know that you have to marry a noble. It's tradition!"

"But you can't force me."

"But, I guess that if you do really love her and she loves you then just this once, you can marry her. Who is she?"

"The shoemaker's daughter."

"Very well. Guard!" A guard immediately appeared, "Yes, ma'am?"

"Send for the shoemaker and her daughter to come here."

"Yes, Ma'am!"

------------Your POV

I was up in my room above the shop when my mother called me down, "(Y/n)! There's someone here to see you!"

I walked downstairs and was shocked to see one of the royal guards, "Mother, what's going on?" I asked confused.

"Miss, your presence has been requested at the castle."

"Huh?!"

"The prince has chosen you as his bride, Miss."

I smiled before turning back to my mother. I returned my gaze, "If that is so, can my mother come with me? I've been with her my whole life and I couldn't imagine life without her."

"Sweetie, I'll be fine. You don't need to worry about me."

"Mother, I don't want to go anywhere without you."

"You're welcome to come and live at the castle too. The king and queen said it was fine too."

"Oh, in that case, okay."

We packed up our stuff before we made our way to the castle. When we arrived, the guard opened the door for us and we entered. I smiled as we were greeted by the king and queen, before being immediately embraced in a hug, "(Y/n)! You really came!"

I giggled, "Yeah. I did. The guard said you wanted me, so I came."

---------

Long story short (Becuase Author-Chan can't think atm), George and I got married and surprisingly, the country was okay with it. I was happy with my new life and I was happy that it wasn't going to change anytime soon.

------------

So, how'd I do? I'm still not proud of the ending but... I tried. Sorry to the requester if it's not how you imagined it.
