PHILIP'S POV

"Pa, what am I supposed to do?" I was pacing back and forth in the living room.

"Philip, son, look at me." I did so, "Now, all you got to do is ask her. If she says yes, you've got yourself a date. If she says no, which I know she won't, then..."

"Ok, thanks, for letting me do this. I know that you and Lafayette were friends. I'll see you tonight." And with that I walked out the house and to school.

YOUR POV

I had been sitting with Theo, my best friend at lunch talking about prom when she brought up something, "So, (Y/n), Philip asked you yet?"

"No, Theo. But I know he'll ask you, it's you he likes not me."

"Well, we'll just have to wait for it."

"I just hope he doesn't bring any guns and ships when he comes to ask someone."

We talked for a while more before Philip came over to join us, "Hey girls, mind if I sit with you?"

"Philip, of course you can sit with us you're our friend, but I think (Y/n) wants you to sit next to her," Theo said with a smirk on her face. My face went bright red when he sat down, "Actually (Y/n), I want to talk to you."

"Well come on then."

"Alone."

"Fine. See you later Theo," I said dragging Philip away.

----------------

"So what is it Pip?"

"Well, I was wondering whether.. you um..."

"Just spit it out already Hamilton!"

"Will you go to prom with me?!"

I was speechless for a moment, "Of course Pip!"

We walked over to where I said I would meet Theo, "So, what'd I miss?" She asked.

"Really Theo, I let 'wait for it' slide but when you reference a song that your father didn't even sing then no."

"Oh so, 'guns and ships' is allowed then huh?"

"Once again my point is, my father sang it. It would be like Pip referencing I don't know maybe 'my shot'!"

"Yeah well, you'll be back (Y/n)!" She shouted running off.

I was going to run after her but, "Calm down (Y/n), we don't want your temper to blow us all away."

I facepalmed, "Do I really have to? Do you really want me to? You really want me to do it?" Philip looked at me blankly.

------------------------------

It was finally here, prom night! I was so excited. Philip was coming to pick me up at 7 as the prom started at 8 and it took 45 minutes to get there, not including traffic and red lights. I put the dress on that my father had bought me and it fitted like a glove, mainly because one of father's friend's had made it. I walked downstairs and into the kitchen where my father was, "Père? Qu'est-ce que tu fais?"

"Ah, ma petite ange, je te préparais juste une collation pour continuer."

"Merci," I said taking the croissant from him.

Once I had finished the doorbell rang. I opened it to be met with Philip in a suit and wide-eyed, "Pip, as-tu d'accord?"

"Oui! I mean yes, I'm fine. Sorry you look amazing."
