I swore to myself as I twisted my ankle, running towards the gates of the Hamiltons' castle.
"Halt! What business do you have?"
"I didn't have to do this, Stan, but..." I paused and pulled down the hood of my cloak, "I advise that you let me in. Or well, let's just say I'll ruin your chances with your precious princess." I smirked, knowing of his crush on Princess Angelica as I had always seen him staring at her while he was on duty before I learned of my parentage.
"Miss (Y/n)! Your Highness! I am sorry I didn't recognise you. You of course may enter."
I smiled and patted him on the head, "Thank you. I shall put in a good word to the princess for you," I replied as he let me into the castle grounds. I took a deep breath and walked up to the door, where another set of guards were, "Miss. You have been barred from these premises!"
Before I had a chance to respond, I heard my name, "(Y/n)! Thank goodness you're here! I need you to come with me. You need to see this."
I smiled as the door opened to reveal Queen Eliza, a distressed look on her face. She quickly grabbed my hand and pulled me inside, glaring at the guard who had denied my entry, and pulled me through the corridors to a room I knew well, "Philip?"
"Mum? You can come in."
She opened the door, and I gasped at the sight; Philip was lying on his bed, blood seeping out of his side and shoulder, "What happened?"
"You, get out!"
I blinked in surprise at the tone of King Alexander's voice as he glared at me, "I told you to never return here!"
"Please Sire, with all do respect-"
"I invited her here, Dear. She needed to see Philip before-"
"Your Majesty, with all do respect, please may I try something? After I was forced back to my father's castle, him and my mother explained something to me about my hair; it being able to heal wounds. Please with your permission. I would like to try it."
I heard the queen gasp from beside me as she gave her husband a pleading look. King Alexander sighed and stood up from Philip's bedside, "Fine. You get one chance, but this doesn't mean I'm going to change my attitude towards you and your father."
I nodded and quickly undid the plait in my hair, and struggled to wrap the long locks around Philip before taking a deep breath, "Flower, gleam and glow let your powers shine. Make the clock reverse. Bring back what once was mine. Heal what has been hurt, change the fates' design. Save what has been lost. Bring back what once was mine, what once was mine."
"What in th-"
"Please don't freak out, Philip. No one else knows of the power of my hair except my parents and a few guards."
"That is incredible!" Philip responded as he untangled himself from my hair, standing up perfectly fine, "Ma, Pops, look! I feel great!"
I giggled and started to re-plat my hair, but I got interrupted when Philip ran up to me and hugged me, "Thank you! You are the best person in the world, (Y/n)!"
"If you say so," I replied, giggling as I pecked his cheek.
Philip's face turned red but he ignored it as he turned towards his father, "Pops, you can't stay mad at her after this. I mean, She's a great person to have around anyway, but with this, any injuries, we don't even need a doctor! Please say you'll lift (Y/n)'s ban on entering the castle grounds!"
"I apologise for any trouble I have caused you, Your Majesties, however, I should be getting back, my father will notice sooner or later that I'm not in the castle."
"On the contrary, (Y/n). I knew you snuck out from the beginning. You were not very sneaky. However, as you put someone else's needs before your own, I am willing to overlook the fact that you snuck out from under my nose. You are my daughter after all, and honestly, Hamilton, I think we should put this feud behind us. For the sake of our children. The union of these two will be good for both kingdoms. What do you say?"
----------------------------
"You look absolutely stunning, Your Highness."
"Thank you, Sally. I just can't believe this is happening. I mean Philip's father and my father have been at each other's throats for Washington knows how long, and they're both okay with their children marrying each other? I'm glad."
She smiled at me in return as there was a knock on the door, "Come in." Once the door opened I smiled to see Angie, Philip's little sister, who smiled, "How are you doing, (Y/n)?"
"Good. Are you ready, Miss Future-Sister-In-Law?"
She nodded, "Yeah. I'm so happy this is finally happening. Honestly, Philip's been going on and on about you for years. Since you were both fifteen he's had a massive crush on you, but didn't say anything due to the 'royalty marrying royalty' thing that is still going around."
"While I remember, Angelica. One of the guards has a soft spot for you. Well, actually, I'll just say it, Stan's got a massive crush on you."
Her face lit up bright red and she squealed, "Really?!"
I nodded, "He told me himself, but maybe wait til after mine and Philip's wedding to tell him the feelings are requited. I can't do much without my maid of honour."
--------------------------
I took a deep breath before starting my vows, "Philip. I love you so much. Even when I was just your maid, I kept it quiet because I was just a maid and you were a prince, but thankfully it makes no difference anymore. In my opinion, it doesn't matter your status, love is love, and I guess it's something both my heart and brain agreed on. I am so happy I get to spend the rest of my life with you. I vow to love and cherish you til the end. Til death do us part."
By the time I'd finished, I noticed tears running down Philip's cheeks, but he smiling, telling me they were happy tears as he brought a hand up to wipe them away, causing me to let out a small giggle.
"If anyone objects as to why these two should not bed wed, speak now or forever hold your peace."
Silence.
"In that case, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."
Before Philip had the chance to do anything, I pounced on him and kissed him, hearing the priest mutter, "Or groom," causing me to giggle inside.
Soon it was time for me to throw my bouquet, something I took great pride in, Angelica being the one to catch it, causing her face to turn red as she looked between the flowers now in her arms and me. I smirked and chuckled tilting my head over to where Stan stood, not paying attention to what was happening. Angelica looked at her parents, her mother nodding, and she ran over to Stan, quickly kissing him.
"You make a good matchmaker, (Y/n)."
"Ha, I think being a princess is enough for me, Pip. I love you."
"I love you more, (Y/n)," he replied, leaning down and kissing me.
"I love you most," I whispered in his ear after breaking off.
