Hamiltime!
----------------------------
I was pacing back and forth in the bedroom muttering to myself, "This is bad. This is very bad. The war is still going on. I hope that it ends soon before this child comes. I won't be able to do this on my own if George doesn't return."
Even though I had written him a letter explaining the situation a month ago, I still hadn't received a reply. Probably caught up attacking the British forces. I smiled to myself and decided that I would visit him, giving him a surprise.
I got changed into a suitable dress and walked out the door getting a carriage to the camp.
-------------
I arrived at the camp and paid the driver before leaving and walking round aimlessly like a lemon until i spotted two people arguing.
"John, you can't duel Lee! What are you thinking?!"
"Laf, if I don't do this then Lee will never know not to call people out like that! Especially the general!"
"Yes I know but, duels aren't the answer to everything!"
"Well Lee should have though about the consequences before he called Washington out!"
I cleared my throat, "Sorry to interrupt but would you mind telling me where, 'General Washington' is please?"
They both turned to be and the one I guessed was John spoke up, "Of course. Miss..."
"It's 'Mrs' actually, Mrs Washington, if you don't mind. So you better not flirt with me."
"I wouldn't dream of it. But I will show you where the general is," John continued, "That tent over there," he said pointing to one of the tents.
"Thank you," I replied walking off before turning round, "Oh and John don't duel Lee! I have a feeling it will get someone sent home!" I turned back round and continuing to my destination.
I found the tent that John meant and 'knocked' on the flap, "Hamilton, I don't have time, right now." I heard from inside. I entered anyway as I was not, and never will be Hamilton.
"I thought I said I didn't have time Hamilton."
"Well maybe you should learn to use your eyes," I said raising an eyebrow. His head shot up, "(Y/n)! I'm so glad to see you!" He stood up and came to hug me. His demeanour changed pretty much immediately, "(Y/n), what are you doing here it's not safe!"
"It's not safe for you either George, but.." I was cut off once he noticed my stomach, "How long have you known?"
"A month or so."
"(Y/n), you should have told me."
"I wrote to you a month ago. I begged you to say safe. I wrote several times in fact and I still didn't get a reply!"
"I'm sorry, I... I've just been really busy. I'm sorry, but I will be there for you I know that. We will win this war. That I know."
"I know too, George," I replied kissing him. Just then the tent flaps opened, "Holy merde." I let go and we both turned to Lafayette.
"Lafayette, have you not heard of a thing called knocking?"
"I'm sorry I just came to say that John dueled Lee, and now Lee has a bullet in the side of him and all our nurses are already busy and stressed."
"Where is he?" I asked.
"Currently lying on the ground, with blood spilling out his side."
"Take me to him. I can help."
