EJ POV

"Okay they just pulled in!" Uncle Dennis announced.

Aunt Deb was frazzled running around the place looking like a chicken with its head cut off. "Come stand here! EJ honey, come in the front!"

I wiped my sweaty palms down the side of my jeans then followed my aunt's instructions.

I could practically feel my heart beating in the throat and a swarm of angry butterflies in my stomach.

Usually I tend to keep my cool. Exams? Simple. Auditions? Piece of cake. SAT's? What SAT's.

But the anxiety I was feeling right now topped everything that I have ever experienced in my entire life.

We heard the car doors shut and then voices chattering as they approached the front door.

"Open it up Rose." I heard my dad say.

The handle slowly turned.

I could feel my face paling and my vision getting blurry. This was anxiety I haven't felt before.

Uncle Dennis, Aunt Deb, and Ashlyn all crowded forward and rushed to say hello, followed by a series of hugs.

Everything was happening so fast and I wasn't ready for it all to go down. I quietly slipped outside to take a deep breath and stop myself from spiralling.

ASHLYN POV

The second Rosie walked in, we all ran towards her.

I was immediately taken back as to how much older she's gotten.

I gasped. "Oh my gosh Ro you look amazing!"

Rosie gave me a big hug. "Thanks Ash! You look amazing too!"

"We need to get in here!" My mom said as her and my dad wedged themselves between us.

While my parents were catching up with Rosie, I walked towards my Uncles.

"This is pretty amazing!" I said, still processing that Rosie was home.

"We can't believe that the littlest Caswell is back home. Now we can peacefully sleep at night." My Uncle said.

"Speaking of having all our Caswell's safe and sound," my other Uncle spoke. "Do you know where EJ went? I don't think he's even seen Rosie yet."

I was a bit confused as to why EJ disappeared. Then it hit me and I realized how overwhelming this might've been for him.

I walked into the kitchen to grab a glass of water, when I saw EJ sitting on the porch swing in the back.

"Of course." I said to myself. Out of all places, of course EJ was sitting on the porch swing.

I would go out and talk to him, but I think the person he needs right now is Rosie.

Once everyone calmed down a bit and adjusted to Rosie being back, I secretly pulled her aside.

"Can you please talk to EJ? He's pretty overwhelmed right now and I think it would be good if you guys had some one on one time together. He's missed you like crazy and he's still having a hard time wrapping his head around the fact that you are here."
