Hige caught wind of the Soldiers' scents around the junkyard we had hidden in, so we quickly made another plan and snuck out without notice. Leaving nothing but a scrap of cloth covering the front seat, to make them think we were still there, just hiding. We ventured to their base, keeping out of sight. "What? Roger. The commander says they got away." A soldier says to another next to him. Hige taps on the other soldiers shoulder. They both look. "Huh?" the soldier says. "Who got away?" Hige asks. "Huh?!" they both say and pull out their guns. Hige simply swats at the guy with his claws and jumps over the other. "They're here! All forces quickly-- AH!" the soldier isn't able to finish his sentence, due to Tsume and I jumping down, and silencing him. I look at Tsume, while he looks at me with a cocky smirk on his face, I roll my eyes, and smirk. "There they are! Shoot!" we hear a couple of soldiers say, right before shooting, they miss us though, because we had jumped away from them, met up with Hige, and jumped up a small rocky hill. They chased after us, just like we knew they would. We were suppose to distract most of them while Kiba, Cheza, and Toboe got away. We would meet up once we heard Kiba's signal. His howl catches our attention and we make our way towards him and the others. "Shouldn't they be here?" I hear Toboe ask as we got closer to the cliff above the meeting point. "They are here." Kiba says. "Huh? But, where?" Toboe asks right before we jump down next to them. Hige on the left, me in the middle, and Tsume on the right. "Sorry we're late." Tsume says. I roll my eyes but stay silent. "Operation successful." Hige says giving a thumbs up. Kiba gives a smirk to the three of us. The faint click of a rifle being set catches my attention, making me jump out of the way, just as the bullet is fired right in the place I had just been. We all quickly turn towards the cliff and find the hunter loading another bullet. "You damn wolves! You'll never fool me again!" he yells. We all run in opposite directions, confusing him while he tries to shoot us. Cheza loses her footing and falls to the ground. Kiba wips back around and steps infront of her just as a bullet is fired, hitting him right in the shoulder. "Kiba!" She yells in shock. We all see this and glare at the hunter. "Damn him." Tsume says and we make our way to Kiba. The hunter starts to aim at Kiba again, and pulls the trigger, but nothing comes out, he had to reload. By the time the hunter was done, we were gone. We hear the faint sound of the hunter's angry "roar" per say followed by the sounds of gunshots from his gun. Poor baby. Then the sound of an unfamiliar howl.
Tsume's P.O.V.
"What the--" Kiba's pained yell cuts me off. "Oh stop being such a baby! You're worse than Tsume!" Yuna says annoyed. My eyes widen. "Hey!" I say in defense as I turn towards her. Hige, Cheza, and Toboe laugh. She was still fishing for the bullet. "AH! Hey! Yuna, OWW!" Kiba says squirming. "Will you quit moving! Do I have to straddle you too?" She asks him. Something clicks inside me, making me narrow my eyes, and walk toward them. I remove her hand from Kiba's wound and start to look for the bullet myself. "What the hell Tsume? I almost had it!" Yuna protests. I ignore her and pluck the bullet out soon after. After wiping the blood onto Kiba's jacket, I get up, and turn towards Yuna; who had her arms crossed over her chest and was glaring at me. "Was that really neccessary Tsume? I literally almost had it out! You didn't need to butt in." she says. "You were taking too long. We need to keep moving." I say and start walking. Truth is...I don't really know myself, she was doing fine. I decide to forget about it and focus on the task at hand. I stop near Hige when I notice the look on his face, almost like he knew something I didn't. "What?" I ask. He smirks. "Nothing, nothing at all." he says, still keeping that look on his face. What the hell?
Yuna's P.O.V.The 'Forest of Death' didn't look or even smell like a forest, the air was stale, and thinner. While the so called trees were all Silver, leafless, and lifeless all at the same time. Fog was everywhere. I look towards Tsume, who hadn't spoken since the incident. I wonder why he did that, I had already got the bullet out half-way, before he decided to butt in for no reason. 'You're taking too long, we need to keep moving' yeah right, it took me maybe a minute to get the bullet that far, he took another three minutes just to get it out all the way. "Man, this place is depressing. I thought forests were suppose to be, more alive, you know?" Hige speaks up after a while. We had gone deeper into this place. "It's the forest of death, remember?" Toboe says. "That's the reason the human's can't follow us in here." Kiba says. "Well, we don't have to rely on compasses or whatever. But shouldn't there at least be animals, you know like a rabbit or a fox?" Hige asks. "Rabbit huh? In-other-words you're hungry?" Toboe teases. "Sue me alright?" Hige asks annoyed. Toboe laughs and Hige is about to say something else, but I pop them both in the back of their heads. "Enough you two, you know what happened last time an arguement took place. Cheza doesn't like it when we don't get along." I say and stop next to them. "We'll probably come across another town once we're through this forest. Just hang in until then." Kiba says. "If we make it out alive that is." Tsume says kicking a skull. Toboe nearly jumps out of his skin and starts to fall backwards. A huge beetle starts to fly around our heads, freaking Toboe out even more. It flies towards me, but I simply duck. Then it comes towards Toboe, who's eyes widen, and he starts to yell in terror. Tsume snatches the beetle right infront of Toboe's face without problem, stopping it's advance. "There are plenty of bugs though." Tsume says examining the beetle. Toboe exhales in relief. "Thank's Tsume." Toboe says. "I've never seen a bug like this." Tsume says right before he puts it infront of Hige's face. "Here." he says. Hige steps back with a disgusted look on his face. "You're hungry aren't you?" Tsume asks. "Chow down." he adds. "What?! Why the hell should I?!" Hige asks wide eyed. "Cuz you've got the strongest stomach right?" Toboe asks teasingly. "Come on Hige, take one for the team." I say with a smirk. "Eat it." Tsume says to him. "I'm not you're taster, and how come you're giving me orders, you're not our leader or anything, right?" Hige asks desperately and looks towards Kiba. Kiba stays silent. "Uhh...I KNOW! Let's give it to Cheza!" Hige says snatching the bug and stopping infront of Cheza, who steps back. "I bet you're hungry right?" Hige says. Kiba slaps the bug out of Hige's hands, the bug lands on the ground, and bursts open, oozing out Green crap. "Cheza does not eat bugs." Kiba says. "Well then what should we feed her?" Hige asks. Cheza smiles. "This one doesn't eat anything." she says. "Not a thing?" Hige asks shocked. "Now that you mention it, I've never seen her eat." Tsume says. "She drank some water that one time." Toboe says. "This one drinks, and basks." she says. "Basks in what?" Kiba asks. Cheza smiles and looks up. We do too. Her smile turns to a frown. "But not here." she says. "Oh, I get it. Sunlight." Toboe says. "Makes sense, she is a flower." Hige adds. "What do you think of that?" I ask Tsume. He doesn't answer so I look towards him, he quickly looks away from me, once he realizes I was looking. I cock an eyebrow. What's his problem?
