Chapter 42

Hige's P.O.V.
"Its about time, I thought I'd have to spell it out for her." I say sighing. "What are you talking about? Hige what's going on?" Toboe asks cluelessly. "Nothing you need to worry about kid." I say. He pours and gets up. "Well if you won't tell me, I'll figure it out myse--" I cut him off by putting him in a headlock. "Hey! Let go of me!" He says trying to squirm out of my hold. "You were told to stay here with us, that's what you're gonna do, besides, I don't think you should interrupt." I say. "Interrupt what?" He asks still clueless. I swear, how stupid can the runt be? "Don't you worry about it Toboe, Yuna'll explain when she gets back." I lie. "Explain what?" He asks/whines. "Oye..." I say and high five my face with my extra hand.
Yuna's P.O.V.
Alright Tsume, where'd you go? I look around as I walk. I sniff for his scent, once I have it, I set off in that direction. Once I find him, I stop. He had stopped at some kind of Oasis, there was a pool of water in the center of it. Tsume stood, just staring at the water in front of him. "Thought we were done with the whole running away thing." I say walking towards him. "What do you want?" He says with a low growl though he doesn't look at me. "I could ask you the same thing." I say stopping a few feet away, leaning up against a tree. "What the hell do you mean by that?" He asks annoyed as he glances over his shoulder. "You know exactly what I mean Tsume, don't play dumb." I say kicking off the tree. "Whatever." He says turning away again. I ignore his attempt at dismissing the conversation. "No, don't do that, not now." I say pointing at him. He scoffs but says nothing. "I have to say, I never took you for the jealous type." I say shrugging. "What the hell are you talking about? Leave me alone Yuna." He says. "Dammit Tsume! For once in your life, say what you really feel!" I yell at him, losing my patience. "Shut up Yuna!" He says clenching his fists with his back to me. "No Tsume! I won't! Stop hiding behind that stupid angry facade of yours!" I yell, throwing my hand to the side. "I said shut up!" He says angrily, turns towards me, and before I know it, he pins me against the tree with another low growl, until we're mere inches apart. I felt his body heat, the look in his eyes made my heart skip a beat, I unwillingly blush and avert my eyes. His hand cups my left cheek, making me look at him. His eyes narrow. "Tsu--" his lips cut me off and my eyes widen before slowly closing. His kiss was fierce and crippling, I found myself grabbing his arms for support. My body was on fire. Just when I can no longer catch my breath, we break apart. "You drive me crazy..." he whispers, making me let out a small gasp, before he claims my mouth with his own again, wrapping a strong arm around my waist, pulling me into him, leaving no space between us, his hand cupping my cheek moves to the back of my neck, deepening the kiss. I arch my back, knowing that I was giving myself over to him completely, but I couldn't stop myself. I didn't want to either. We reluctantly break apart, catching our breath. My head felt foggy and I was dizzy, to the point where I had to lean on the tree for support. "You alright?" He asks, breaking the silence. "I-Uh..." I trail off, unable to speak at this moment. He chuckles softly before tenderly trailing the edge of his hand down my cheek. The sensation left by his hand is on the edge of tickling and itching. I fight the instinct to rub it away, wanting to keep it as long as I could. "Why didn't you say anything?" I ask able to speak now. "...I wanted to but...I guess I didn't know how or even if you'd accept." He says. My cheeks warm again. "Oh...I see..." I say twiddling my thumb and pointer fingers shyly. He chuckles again. He's acting so different as from how he was just a few minutes ago...why?.. I remember why I had come after him and how he was jealous of Eek and the familiar annoyance takes place within me. "Why the hell or even how could you be jealous of Eek?! He's a human for God's sake!" I scold, bopping him upside the back of his head. "Ah, hey!" He says defensively and rubs the back of his head. "You're such an idiot!" I say. "Well what'd you expect?! Acting all buddy buddy with him, of course I'd feel that way!" He defends. "Buddy buddy? What the hell are you talking about?!" I ask. "The other night, on the hill at the edge of the village!" He says. "The hill?" I ask more myself as I try to remember. But the other night was when... "Are you friggin serious?! That's what all that was about?! You really are an idiot, if you believe there was anything worth being jealous of that night!" I say. "Am not!" He says. "Are to!" I say getting in his face and poking him in the chest. He narrows his eyes and glares at me. I do the same, though neither one was threatening. I sigh and roll my eyes. "Look, you don't have to be jealous of anything or anyone, I have no interest in anyone else." I say and smile before grabbing his hand. "Come on, the others are probably worried about us, especially the kid." I say and take a step forward. He pulls me back to him before I can react. "Let them worry, I don't want to go back just yet." He says with a smirk. I arch a brow, before shrugging. In truth...I don't,want to just yet either, it just seems awkward to be alone with him now that we... He leads us to a few feet before the water and sits down. I follow his lead and sit next to him.
