Chapter 27

Tsume's P.O.V.

What's with that She-Wolf...she's been acting...strange lately...her cheeks turn red almost every-time she looks at me...why though? Toboe calls out to her and I watch as she walks over to him. A pang of something makes my chest tighten. Why does she give him so much attention? ...Why do I even care? I sigh and look away. "Hey Yuna, you look hotter when you're wet." Hige says. I whip my head back around and glare at Hige. For some reason, I growl. Yuna simply growls, and pushes Hige's head underwater. His arms flailed around and bubbles swam around where his head would be. She lets go of his head and he splashes his head out from under the water coughing. "What the hell Yuna?! Are you trying to kill me!?" Hige yells. "If I wanted to kill you, you'd be dead already." she says before climbing out of the water. Her Long Black hair clung to her face and neck. Her clothes looked like a second skin, magnifying her curves. I wanted to growl, but I tear my eyes away from her retreating form. What the hell...why do I want to growl?!  I shake out of my thoughts and look back at Hige who was shooting curse words left and right at her. Toboe was laughing and I find myself laughing as well. He had it coming. I look around for Yuna but couldn't find her, just her footprints. Where did she go? I decide to follow her footprints out of curiosity.

Yuna's P.O.V.

Damn Hige, he's such a perv. I was hungry, so I decided to hunt, maybe find a bear or at least something that everyone can have their share of. I was wolf, so I sniff around until I sensed a buck not far from where I was. Bingo! I quietly and slowly make my way over to the prey. Once I had gotten close enough, I lower myself to the ground, and crawled forward. Right when I'm about to pounce on it, the buck picks up it's head, sniffs the air, and books it. Dammit! What the hell spooked it?! That's when I hear the roar. I quickly turn towards the Black bear, which was the size of a house, and growl. It snarls at me, raises it's clawed hand, just when it's about to swing, I see a flash of Grey fur. My eyes widen as Tsume attacks it's arm. Where the hell did he come from?! The Black bear roars in anger and whips Tsume off of it. Tsume lands a few feet behind me with a yelp. Rage boils within me and before I am aware, I was already attached to it's ear. It roars in pain and tries to throw me off of it by trying to slap me with it's clawed arms. I dodge it repeatedly, biting harder every-time it tried to slap me. It's angry roars fill the air. It manages to land a hit on me, sending me flying through the air, and crashing into a near-bye tree. I yelp in pain, dropping the Black bear's ear at the same time. I hadn't even realized I had taken it with me. "Yuna?!" I hear Tsume call me before crashing through the tall grass and stopping at my side. I was laying on the ground where I had fallen, due to the pain. "You alright?" he asks. "Yeah...I-I'm fine."  I say and wince as I try to stand. I fight against the pain and manage to stand with Tsume's help. "Where is the bear?" I ask and look around. "Last time I checked it was roaring in pain from you taking off it's ear." Tsume says focusing on the claw marks on my right shoulder. I try to hide them as my gaze settles on the set of claw marks on his side. "Tsume..." I trail off. "It's fine, don't worry." he says. Examining it a little longer, I finally can tell it wasn't life threatening, and relax a bit. Which meant neither was mine. This bear was still young, it's claws haven't fully grown. As if it knew I was looking for it, it too crashed throught the tall grass towards us. It's eyes were livid as it's eyes settle on me and it snarls. I hear a growl before Tsume steps infront of me. His tail was up and his head was low. He was in an almost protective stance and snarling at the bear. Tsume... I shake out of my thoughts and intercept the bears attack on Tsume, with one of my own. I locked my jaw on the bears neck, biting as hard as I can. But it wasn't enough force on my own. "Tsume!" I call for him while still holding onto it's neck. Soon Tsume too is locking his jaw on the bear's neck. The bear struggles for a few minutes more before finally collapsing. We finally let go of it's neck. Both of us were panting and looking at the Black bear. "What the hell were you thinking? Trying to take a bear on by yourself?! Are you an idiot or something!?" Tsume asks me with an angry growl. "Do not insult me, I'm not that stupid! I didn't even sense the damn thing! I was focused on the damn buck it scared away! Besides, who the hell are you to tell me what to hunt and what not to? You're not my Mate!" I snarl at him before widening my eyes. What the hell? He flinches, I had thrown him off too. "Where did that come from?" he asks confused. I don't answer. Truth is, I don't even know myself... "I'll go tell the others that we've got food." I say wanting to get away from the situation. Before he could say anything, I run off.

Tsume's P.O.V.

'You're not my Mate!' her words play over and over in my head. She was right, I wasn't her Mate...so why did that bother me so much? Why do I always get angry when she's near any of the others? Just the thought of another wolf touching her or even being near her makes my blood boil. I lock my jaw. This is...annoying. I shake out of my thoughts when I see Yuna and the others running towards the Black bear and myself. All except Kiba was here. I turn human. "Where's Kiba?" I ask. "He stayed with Cheza, said he'd eat when one of us go back. He didn't want to leave Cheza alone." Hige says. They all stop infront of the bear and look to me. "What are you waiting for?" I ask. "Your kill, therefore you get the first bite." Yuna says not even looking at me. "It's not just my kill, it's yours too." I say. "No it isn't. It didn't die until you attacked it." she argues, still not looking at me. "Will one of you just get it over with! I'm starving over here!" Hige says. I wasn't going to win this, so I turn wolf, and tear into the bear. They follow soon after. Yuna was across from where I was eating and I couldn't help but watch her. She feels me watching so she stops and looks up. Without a word, she leaves, claiming to be full. Kiba runs over soon after and digs in. 

Yuna's P.O.V.

Once everyone was full, they came back to the lake. The full moon's reflection was bright on the water's surface. Hige was trying to dunk Toboe. "Hige leave him alone!" both Tsume and I say while laughing. Cheza gets up and steps into the water, making Hige, Toboe, Tsume, Kiba, and I watch her. The light of the Full moon seemed to make her almost ethereal. She smiles and looks up to the moon with closed eyes. After a while, they all climb out of the water. Cheza sits on a soft patch of grass and we all form a circle around her. Once I'm sure everyone is asleep, I stand, and walk to the edge of the water. Laying down next to it, I place my hands on my paws, and sigh. 'You're not my Mate!' Why had I said that? There was no reason for that. Just saying that to him had hurt my chest. 'Had by few...cherished by all.' so this was what he meant...I knew I had feelings for Tsume but...I never admitted it. I'm such an idiot... "Yuna?" I hear someones voice. I sigh. "What is it Toboe?" I ask without looking at him. "Can I lay with you? Hige and the others keep kicking me." he says. I make a laughing sound. "Of course you can." I say. "Thanks! U-Um...does it hurt? Your wound I mean." he asks. "I'll be okay. Taking on a Black bear wouldn't be recomended though." I say jokingly. "You and Tsume were so brave! I could never do what you two did, I'd be too scared to try." he says. "We didn't intentionally find a Black bear and decide to attack it. I actually was going after a buck and well...the bear kinda came out of nowhere. If it wasn't for Tsume...I don't think I would've survived." I admit and unintentionally whine. "Yuna...what's wrong?" Toboe asks concerned. "It's nothing...don't worry about it kid." I say. "Okay." he says before laying down next to me. I lay my head on top of his neck in a motherly manner. Soon, he's asleep, and I follow soon after.
