Toboe's P.O.V.
'He's gone...why can't we find him?' I accidentally think out-loud, I was panting, and I find myself looking towards the others. Tsume was a few feet away from me, panting heavily. He carried Yuna on his back. She still hasn't woke up yet...I'm worried about her...so is Hige, he keeps glancing over at Yuna. Tsume still won't let any of us near her. He needs to rest...but he wont let Hige or I carry Yuna...what's gotten into him? 'Listen, we looked for him everywhere we could...' Hige says. 'But he...he couldn't be...' I didn't want to say it, I didn't want to believe it. 'Maybe he is...he might not have made it...' Hige says. Tsume stops all of a sudden, making us stop, and look back. He was human now. I immediately look to Yuna. He gently laid her on the snow covered ground, before kneeling next to her. At first she was still, but then her finger twitched, and finally her eyes opened. I turn human. "Yuna!" Hige and I say with bright smiles as we ran towards her, but again, Tsume turns, stands, and growls at us. We stop in our tracks. "Will you quit it already?! We're not gonna hurt her dammit!" Hige yells. Tsume glares at Hige. A movement from behind Tsume catches my attention, I look towards Yuna, and my eyes widen at what I see. She took a bunch of snow, balled it up in her hands, and threw it at the back of Tsume's head. Tsume lets out a grunt and turns towards Yuna. "Down boy! Bad Tsume, no treats for you!" she says before attempting to stand. She gets about halfway before her legs give out beneath her, making her fall. As soon as she hits the ground, Tsume hold out his hand for her. She looks to the hand, to him, and back to the hand. Her cheeks seem to take on a Reddish tint, making me cock my head to the side in confusion. Yuna's eyes narrow. "Don't look at me like that, just take it." Tsume snaps, but it seems a little dimmer than when he snaps at us. What's going on with those two? After a few seconds, Yuna takes his hand, and he raises her from the ground. "Yuna...are you alright?" I ask taking a cautious step forward. She looks to me and smiles. "I'm alright Toboe, don't worry so much." she says. I nod and sigh in relief. "Hey, wait a second, where's Kiba and Cheza?!" Yuna asks looking around frantically. No one answers. "Toboe?" she asks me. I look away from her and to the ground sadly. "Hige?" she asks. Hige shakes his head sadly. Her eyes widen and she looks to Tsume. "Tsume..." she says. He meets her gaze before sighing. "Cheza was taken by those humans." he says. "But...what about...Kiba?" she asks clinging to Tsume's arm. "We...haven't found him." he says. Her eyes widen as a quiet gasp escapes her throat. Tsume slightly narrows his eyes before he pulls his arm away, and walks back the way we had come. "Tsume? Where are you going?" Hige asks. "To look for him again." Tsume answers. "What's the point? You won't find anything." Hige says. I turn towards Hige. "I'm telling you, even his scent isn't there. I give up, it's hopeless." Hige says turning around. "Give up on what?" Tsume asks. Hige sits on the ground. "Paradise, I don't give a damn anymore." Hige says. "Hige..." Yuna says taking a step but starts to fall again, she quickly steadies herself, and sighs. "What are you saying?" Tsume asks. "I'm saying you can count me out." Hige says. My eyes widen and I gasp slightly. "What?! You can't be serious!" I say not believing him. "I was never really interested in going to Paradise in the first place." Hige says. "Really? And you always seemed so happy to be with us." Tsume says. Hige sighs and lays back onto the snow covered ground. "If I'd never met him, none of this would've ever happened to me." Hige says. "You're right, if he hadn't have shown up in that city, I doubt any of us would've left. We probably could've spent our whole lives there without too much trouble." Tsume says. "Things were a lot easier, that's for sure." Hige says. "Yeah. Except we were pathetic back there." Tsume says. "Well we're pretty pathetic out here too." Hige says. "Come on...cut it out would ya? Isn't it bad enough that our bodies have been totally wrecked? Why does everybody have to fight about everything...arguing and stealing from each other all the time...I mean...it's a big enough world...why can't we share it? Wolves and Humans and birds and...flowers...living together as equals...if we all got to Paradise, that's how it'd be...wouldn't it?" I ask squatting and wrapping my arms around myself.
Kiba's P.O.V.
I wake up under an odd bush with a strange scent. The sun was hot and the cracked dry ground was too. I stand up and look around, shielding my eyes from the sunlight. Where am I?
Yuna's P.O.V.
"The kid is right you guys, we can't just give up, just because of our current situation. Now you guys said you couldn't find hide nor hair of Kiba right? That right there tells you he's alive and we are going to find him. Pack sticks together no matter what, and yes, we are a pack Tsume, Hige. Rather you two like it or not." I say crossing my arms over my chest. Toboe nods and smiles at me. I wink at him. He sits up suddenly and sniffs the air. "What is it?" Tsume asks. "I'm not sure but it's a familiar scent..." Toboe says. "A scent?" Tsume ponders just as I catch whiff of it too. Toboe and I start running.
