Chapter 46-4 (End of ch. 46)

"That damn kid went crazy." Tsume says. "This sucks. This really sucks! Why is he taking so long to come back up? Come on Toboe. TOBOE!" Hige calls. "Toboe!" I call just as something bursts through the water a few yards behind us. We spin on our heels to see the walrus slowly crawl out of the water and fling Toboe off of him. Toboe lets go and flies through the air, landing on all fours, before his back legs give out on him. I am able to break out of Tsume's hold before I made a run for it towards Toboe. "Yuna!" I hear Tsume call out, but I ignore him, I was too worried about Toboe being hurt. Please be okay... I hear the others running too. The walrus lets out a low growl, same as Toboe, who readies himself in case the walrus tries to attack again. One of the walrus' tusks had broken off somewhere. The walrus collapses to the ground with a giant cloud of snow, which covers them for a while. Once the snow cloud dissipated, it reveals giant pieces of ice were stuck in the walrus' body, along with very deep, large gashes. "Toboe! Are you okay?" I hear Hige call out before him and I both skid to a halt by Toboe. "I can't believe it..." Tsume says looking at the walrus. "What got into you?" Hige asks just before Toboe falls to his knees. I kneel too and place a gentle hand on his back. "Toboe? You okay?" I ask concerned. Toboe was shaking. "Something happened...and then I just...I just...I don't know, it was like something deep inside of me just snapped all of a sudden." Toboe mumbles through chattering teeth. "You must be joking...not once have I ever been defeated on this plain...I have been here...protecting it since long, long ago...even when I was the only one left in this world...it's either kill...or be killed...but understand this...I will not die a victim...I...am going to save...you..." A deep voice, belonging to the walrus says before opening his injured eye, and dying. A crisp wind flows around us and the walrus carcass. Silence is all there is until Hige's stomach growls loudly. I look up at him. "Really Hige?" I ask blandly. He starts to walk towards the walrus, but Kiba and I stop him, by calling his name. He stops and looks back at us confused until he sees us all looking at Toboe. Kiba places a hand on Toboe's shoulder. "It's your kill, so you eat first." Kiba says with a small smile. Toboe is shocked at first, but recovers, smiles, and nods before turning wolf, and walking to the walrus. He bites into it's flesh. We walk towards it soon after.

3rd person's P.O.V.

Somewhere within Jagara's Keep, a armored woman sits at a large round table staring at a transparent globe filled with a Glowing Green liquid inside, along with the sleeping Flower Maiden hooked to wires and gizmos within. "I tell you now the words of Red Moon. From the great spirit was born the wolf and man became it's messenger. The beast lives his life in silence, abiding by the blessings of the gods bestowed upon him. The White flower. After winning the favor of the Lord of the night, will she share her scent." The armored woman speaks. She is surrounded by well built men in Black. One man in Black steps forward to lift up a round platter cover, revealing a sizzling piece of meat on a plate within. Steam rises above the meat, permeating the air. The Flower Maiden opens her eyes slightly, something horrible awakening her. "Preordained an eternal countenance. Her form is of a Lily White supple maiden. She distills and condenses all of time, until it becomes a precious frozen mass." the woman speaks again. Another man in Black walks up holding a metal pitcher of a certain thick Red liquid, and pours it into a wine glass. The Flower Maiden's eyes widen in horror. The armored woman grabs the wine glass and brings the thick liquid to her lips. A bit of the liquid trails down to her chin from the corner of her mouth. The Flower Maiden shakes in horror and soon screams after the scent of the Wolf's Blood finds her. The armored woman raises her glass in a salute and smiles wickedly. "Only then will it appear, the retched beast." the armored woman finishes.

Yuna's P.O.V.

By the time the walrus is finished, it's after dark, and many shooting stars fly through the sky. We run off, leaving the icy wasteland, and making our way to Jagara's city.

Blue's P.O.V.

My eyes widen at the sight of the city before me, it was covered in a glowing Green/Blue light. "Look at that energy field..." The woman, now known as Cher says. "Why is there so much of it, concentrated in this one place?" she asks. "Gives me the creeps." I say. "A remote stronghold, left from the golden age, the Nobles call it the lost city. And Jagara controls it." Cher says. I narrow my eyes. "Her keep is somewhere inside there huh?" I ask. She nods her head yes. "What do you intend to do with Cheza?" Cher asks, most likely asking Jagara. Before long, we were in an enclosed, automatic moving tunnel. I cross my arms over my chest as I look out the clear window.

Yuna's P.O.V.

We walk out of the sewer we had entered, and came into the city. This looks like a dump. We must be under the actual city part. I watch as Toboe runs out and looks around. "Wow! It's so warm!" he says happily. "See? Boy when I'm right, I'm so right. Right?" Hige asks. I smirk and shake my head. "You forgot to mention, it stinks here." Toboe says. "Stop complaining." Hige says. "How'd you know about this?" Kiba asks Hige. "Hmm...can't say for sure. Hey! Must be my keen instinct." Hige says and starts walking. "Instinct huh?" Tsume asks more himself then us and smirks. I laugh softly and nudge him. "Come on big guy." I say and start walking after Hige and Toboe. Tsume smirks, nods, and follows.

Kiba's P.O.V.

I wonder if something's going on between those two...If there is, when did that happen..? I shrug it off and follow.

Yuna's P.O.V.

"Look how high the ceiling is! Man, I've never seen a dome this big before!" Toboe says in awe. I look around too. I have to say, this place is pretty interesting... I turn back towards Tsume and Kiba, who stood in one spot, looking in a specific direction. "So what's the plan?" Tsume asks. "Cheza's gotta be somewhere inside the keep." Kiba says. "Hmm...well, if that's the case, it should be over there." Hige says pointing to our left. I wonder how he knows this... I look towards Tsume, who looked as if he was thinking the same thing. "How do you know that?" Toboe asks. Hige's stomach growls. "Uh...hey! Why don't we break up into teams, you guys look for a way in or something, and the runt and I will scope out the joint! Kay?" Hige asks. "Scope out the joint huh?" I ask unconvinced. "Don't you mean scope out the food?" Tsume says blandly. Hige chuckles awkwardly. "Don't worry, we'll be sure to bring back enough for everyone. Right?" Hige asks turning to Toboe. Toboe nods in approval. I roll my eyes, shake my head, and smirk. "Leave it to us!" Toboe says. "We would be less conspicuous if we split up." Tsume says absentmindedly grabbing my wrist while looking at Kiba. "Alright, the three of us will go and check out the area around the keep." Kiba announces. "It's a plan! We'll meet you back hear at moonrise." Hige says before running off in the opposite direction of us. "Uh, Hige! Wait for me!" Toboe yells after Hige before running after him. I look at the men on each side of me. We all nod, turn, and jump up onto the slopes which stuck out of the walls around us, we knew it would lead to the actual city, and we couldn't wait.
