Chapter 32

We stopped at a look out point to catch our breath, we had ran from the humans' place, all the way across town without stopping. The human's had wrapped Tsume's arm before giving us food, it seemed to help him out alot. "They went that way, right?" Toboe asks. "They sure did." Hige says. "Are we going?" Toboe asks. "Well yeah, we have to." Hige says. Tsume glances towards Kiba who was staring off somewhere. "So where are you guys headed?" The dog asks. "We're all trying to make our way to Paradise." Hige answers. "Paradise?" she asks. "It's something every wolf has to try to do." he says. "Oh, right. To find Paradise." she says. She has no idea what Paradise is, does she? I sigh. "You're gonna come with us, aren't you Blue?" Hige asks. "It sounds tempting. But I can't go." she says. "Well, then I'm not going either." he says. "Hige..." she trails off. "You know, he probably will be better off if you stayed with the humans. It's not too late to go back." Kiba speaks turning towards her. "What the hell are you saying Kiba?!" Hige asks. "I have no intention of going back, I can never return to the way I was before. Not now." the dog says. "Blue..." Hige trails off. "I just...I need to find out what I really am." she says. "Well then, the only thing you can do is move forward." Kiba says. "Yeah, he's right! You just gotta move forward! Right, right?" Hige asks. "Oh yeah, I can see right through you Porky." Tsume says. "You try to attack any of us one more time, I'll end you." I warn the dog. She nods in understanding. "I won't." she says. "Good." I say before smirking at her. She smiles back. "Now if only Cheza were with us..." Toboe says. Hige steps to him, and lightly punches his head. "I told you not to say that." Hige says. "Okay, now that everything is settled, time to get a move on, on to Paradise!" Hige says pointing towards the north. "We're going this way." Kiba corrects him, pointing to the west. "Huh?" Hige asks. "Paradise isn't over there..." Toboe says confused. "But Darcia's keep is." I say catching onto Kiba's plan. "His keep?" Hige asks. "Yes." Kiba says. "Do you think...Cheza's there?" Toboe asks. Kiba simply nods. "Kiba, Cheza left us of her own free will you know." Tsume says. "She only did that to protect us. She's waiting for us, I know she is." Kiba says looking towards Tsume. "That Noble will be there to." Tsume says. "I wouldn't doubt it." Kiba says. "We all might get killed this time." Tsume continues. "If we're meant to die, then so be it." Kiba says. "When that happens, you'll be on your own." Tsume says. I shake my head silently. Like he'd ever leave us, he wants to save her just as much as the rest of us do. "So we're going? To find Cheza right?" Toboe asks excitedly. Toboe runs up to me. "Did you hear that Yuna, we're going to save Cheza!" he says pulling on my arm. I nod and smile. "Damn right we are and nothing is going to stop us." I say. "Right. Lets go!" Hige says. We all start running but stop when we notice the dog wasn't following, she still sat where she was. Hige walks up to her and hold out his hand. "Come on." Hige says with a smile. She takes it with a smile. We all turn wolf and run in the direction of Darcia's Keep. Though we were nowhere near it, we still ran. Nothing was going to stop us from getting Cheza back. Snow began to cover the ground we ran on, but we continued to run. A snow storm enveloped the entire world in White, the wind howled fiercely, smacking our faces as we fought through the wind's strength. Kiba was in the lead, then Tsume and I, then Hige, the dog/Blue, and Toboe. It's been four days without rest, I'm surprised everyone is still keeping up. "Kiba!" Hige calls out as his human. Tsume and I stop and look back. Kiba wasn't stopping though. He seemed to be ignoring him. Hige narrows his eyes and runs up to Kiba, grabbing his shoulder, and turning him to face him. "Dammit will you wait up?" Hige says to Kiba who glares at him. I look behind Tsume and I to see Toboe and Blue struggling to get through the wind, they were tired, I could see it in their eyes. I run back to them. "Come on you guys, I know you're tired, but we can't stop yet, there's no shelter." I say, pulling Toboe closer. "You alright kid?" I ask. He nods and burrows closer to me. He's cold. "You alright Blue?" I ask as I hug Toboe closer to me. "Yea, I'm fine. Thanks." she says. "You should turn wolf, your fur would keep you warmer." I say to them both. Toboe just burrows even closer to me. "I-I'm fine, don't worry about me." he lies. I sigh and hug him. "Sure you are." I say. "W-What about y-you? Your hands are like ice." Toboe says grabbing one of my hands. "And they're turning Purple..." Tsume says snatching my hand away from Toboe. I snatch it away from him. "I'm fine, it's them I'm worried about." I say to him. Tsume sighs. "You gotta worry about yourself too Yuna." he says. "If I didn't know any better...I'd think you cared Tsume." I say arching a brow. His eyes widen and he turns away. "Whatever." he says. Hmm... "They're too tired to keep going, and they're freezing. We need to find somewhere to take refuge." I say pulling myself out of my thoughts. Kiba looks towards me holding Toboe then back to Hige. "Come on, you're going to fast. Let's take a break." Hige says. "We don't have time for that." Kiba says turning away from us. "Would you use your head for once! We've got a girl and a little kid with us!" Hige says. "I can hear you, you know." Blue says. I was too busy trying to warm Toboe up to listen. He's like ice right now... "Don't worry about me, I can keep up." Blue says. "Yeah, m-me too." Toboe says looking towards Kiba. "You realize he's the one who wants to rest don't you?" Tsume says. I look to Tsume, silently trying to tell him that wasn't entirely true. "I do not! I ju-" Tsume cuts him off. "But you gotta admit, he does have a point." Tsume adds after noticing the way Toboe clung to me. Kiba looks back to us again. "We need to rest Kiba." I say with a glare, daring him to turn away again. He glares at me. "At this rate, none of us will make it. We can take shelter in those rocks until the storm clears." Tsume says blocking Kiba's view of me. "That settles it then, can you guys hang in a little longer?" Hige asks Toboe and Blue. Blue starts to walk. "Just worry about yourself alright?" Blue says before walking past him, Toboe follows her, with Hige in the back. "Yes ma'am, I'm sorry." Hige says. I try to hold back a laugh. She's got him wrapped around her baby finger. Tsume, Kiba, and I still stood there. "Let's go." Tsume says to Kiba, turns to me, grabs my wrist, and starts walking. What's gotten into him lately? I raise a brow but let him lead me away.
