Chapter 20

Toboe's P.O.V.

When I wake up, it's morning. "What happened?" I ask myself as I yawn. Hige yawns a second later. "Who knows, all I remember is hearing Cheza sing and that's it, we must've dozed off or something." he says getting up and looking around. "Must be..." I trail off and look around too. "What the?" I hear Hige say. "Hm? What?" I ask looking in his direction. He was staring at something, so out of curiosity, I follow his gaze. "Oh..." I say once my gaze settles on Tsume and Yuna, who were still asleep. They were still wolves. Tsume looked like he was almost guarding her, even while he slept. His head was placed ontop of Yuna's, while her head was rested on his paws. "They look so peaceful, I wonder if they know how they ended up like that..." I say with a small smile. "My guess is no, there's no way they would've done that consciously." Hige says. "Oh...Should we wake them up?" I ask. "Nah, leave 'em. I'm starving, we should go look for something to eat." he says looking around while sniffing. "Hmm...I smell a town, there's gotta be something to eat there. Come on." he says. "But what about Cheza?" I ask looking towards her. She was snuggled up to Kiba who got up slowly. "I'm coming with you guys." Kiba says walking towards us. "But what about her?" I ask. "Tsume and Yuna are here, she'll be safe." he says. Kiba walks over to Tsume and Yuna. "Kiba, what are you doing?" Toboe calls out quietly. "Tsume, Yuna, wake up." Kiba says shaking them. "Kiba, stop! Let them sleep." Hige says. Kiba shrugs and gets up. "Fine, let's go." Kiba says. Hige starts walking. Kiba and I follow soon after.

Yuna's P.O.V.

I open my eyes slowly. Morning? How'd that happen? I attempt to lift my head but find that I can't. What the? I turn my eyes to the side and freeze. Grey fur surrounded me. What the hell?! 
I try to control my shock. Tsume is...what is he doing? It looks like he's guarding me or something...hmm, how the heck am I going to get out of this without waking him up? I raise my human illusion. This should help. I gently place my hand above my head, to hold his wolven head up while I eased out from under it, after I do that, I slowly lower his head to his paws. He still hadn't awoke. I quietly sigh relieved and look around. Cheza was to one side, Tsume slept in another, but there was no sign of Hige, Kiba, or Toboe anywhere. Where'd they go? I look back towards Tsume. My shock had died out, now my cheeks warmed from looking at him. What the hell is wrong with me? Why the hell am I embarrassed?! Know what, forget it, I don't want to know. Focus Yuna, you have to go find the others, so pull yourself together. I look at the dirt covered ground, searching for paw prints or foot prints. When I find them, I waste no time following.

Toboe's P.O.V.

How come there's so many soldiers in this town, they're all interogating people on the streets, I wonder who they're looking for? I'm not about to find out though. I find a line of clothes and notice a fur jacket. I slowly crawl over behind some boxes which were right next to the clothes line. Just as I'm about to go for it, a cat meows behind me, making me turn quickly. It walked towards me, meowing again. "S-Stay away from me, I-I mean it." I say quietly. The cat walks right by me. I exhale in relief. "Cat's always freak me out." I say quietly to myself.

Kiba's P.O.V.

I hid behind a brick building, as soldiers passed by, once they were gone, I run. There's so many of them...what do they want? Could they be after us? Better to be safe than sorry. I continue to look for Hige and Toboe. As I'm running, I don't pay attention, and end up running into someone. "Ow! Watch where you're go-- Kiba?" Yuna's voice. "Yuna? What're you doing here? Where's Cheza?" I ask. "I could ask you the same question. Cheza's fine, I left her with Tsume. Since you guys decided to go AWOL I had to come looking for you. Which brings me to another question, what's with all the soldiers? They still after us?" she asks. I pull her into an alleyway just before a few more soldiers walked by. Once they're gone, I turn to her. "I have no idea, maybe. That's why I'm looking for Hige and Toboe." I say. "Wait, you're telling me you don't know where they are?! You lost them?!" she asks shocked. "No I didn't lose them, we split up to cover more ground. Though, I have no idea where they are now." I say. "Exactly, you lost them. Way to go idiot. You go back to Cheza and Tsume, I'll go find them and meet back there." she says and without a word, runs. Great.

Toboe's P.O.V.

I walk into an alleyway, with the coat in hand. "Is this where we're suppose to meet up?" I say quietly. Hige shows up a few seconds later with Pink boots and a brown paper bag. "What the hell is that thing?" he asks looking at the fur coat. "I thought, that maybe she'd get cold, and that she'd like it, I mean it's furry and soft, kinda like our fur..." I say trailing off. "What are you talking about, she's a flower. Cold's got nothing to do with it." he says. "But still I-- wait, why do you have Pink boots?" I ask. "I figured the mountain paths might be to rough for her delicate feet." he says. "Hmm...even if she's a flower?" I ask turning his sentence back on him. I hear something behind us and look. Nothing was there. "Come on, let's go." Hige whispers. We run out of the alley.

Tsume's P.O.V.

I wake up to the feel of someone petting me. My eyes widen and I jump back. Cheza was looking at me confused. "You slept the longest out of everyone. Did you have sweet dreams?" she asks with a knowing look in her eyes. Why do I have a feeling she already knows the answer... "I-I uh, don't remember." I say looking away after remembering it. "You were running while you were sleeping." she says. I close my eyes and get up. Kiba is the first back. "It's no use, those soldiers are covering the whole place. We're going to have to find another way out of here." he says. I walk past him and stop to look around. Yuna, Toboe, and Hige are missing. "Where's the others?" I ask. "Do you mean Yuna?" he asks with a look of knowing. Why are they both looking at me like that? "What are you talking about? I mean all three of them Idiot." I say defensively. "They're still in town, we got seperated. I ran into Yuna, and she told me to come back here while she looked for them." he says. I sigh. "Next time, don't leave it here with me. I'm not going to be responsible for it." I say changing the subject. "I tried to wake you up but you didn't budge. Besides, you two seemed pretty happy." he says. "What are you talking about? I was tired that's all." I say walking past him, not catching what he said. "You mean you don't know?" he asks and I stop to look at him. "Don't know what?" I ask confused. "Huh, thought you did, after all, you were almost guarding her. My mistake." he says. I run my hand over the top of my headin confusion, catching the obvious scent of Yuna on my arms. What the...why do I have her scent on me? "Guarding who exactly?" I ask suspiscious. "Yuna of course." he says. My eyes widen.

 Hige's P.O.V.

Toboe and I walked through the back alleys, avoiding the soldiers as best as we could. I felt like we wee being followed, no Idea why though. "Is it just me or do you get the feeling we're being watched?" Toboe asks quietly. "Yeah, same here." I whisper. "You don't think it's them do you?" he asks talking about the soldiers. "With their stench, I can smell them coming from a mile away." I say. "I heard something from the cats here, they said that there's a ghost running around." he says. "Did you say a ghost?" I ask. He nods, so I peek over my shoulder slightly. A very old woman with really long White hair and a cane stood slightly in the shadows. "Is she following us?" I ask looking infront of us quickly. "Yeah, is that our ghost?" he asks shakilly. Without speaking, we go faster and faster, trying to lose her, but she keeps up. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Yuna coming from another alleyway. "Toboe! Hige! There you guys ar-- HEY! Where are you guys going?!" she calls after us. "Run!" I say not bothering to be quiet or look at her.

Yuna's P.O.V.

Run? From who? I look around but no one was there, so I run after them, but lose them quickly. I stop and look around. There was four ways they could've gone, but I couldn't find which one. "You've gotta be kidding me..." I say under my breath. The faint click of a gun being readied catches my attention. I turn to find the hunter with the Black Dog. "Do you ever give up old man?! You aren't going to catch me, so why bother trying?" I ask annoyed. I do not have time for this. His dog growls at me. "Shut the hell up already, you're just as bad." I say glaring at it. "Blue, get her." the hunter says letting go of the leash. The Black dog or 'Blue' growls and launches at me. I kick it in the side of the head, making it fly into a pair of trash cans, after that, I take the liberty of running while the distraction was still good. The hunter quickly aims his gun at me while I ran and fires.

Toboe's P.O.V.

The faint sound of a gunshot peirces my ears while we ran. "Hige did you hear that?" I ask while we still ran. "Yeah...come on, lets go back to the forest where Tsume and Cheza are, maybe Yuna and Kiba are there." he says. "Right." I say and we continue to run.
